Chapter 1826 Desperate Battle

Chapter 1826 Desperate Battle

The group contained the first few attacks of the Elemental Warrior, giving them a little bit of hope. However, after only a few exchanges, the scale of the battle tipped over to the Elemental Warrior's side, as it quickly started to overpower them.

Boom!

City Lord Vaughn was sent flying by the Elemental Warrior, slamming into the wall. The Elemental Warrior didn't try to capitalize on its advantage, rather, it charged straight at Lord Harry who was standing not too far away from Grey.

The two City Lords reacted quickly, joining hands to block the path of the Elemental Warrior, but without City Lord Vaughn holding it back, there was only so much they could do. Their attack only managed to cause a slight delay, as the Elemental Warrior blitzed through the attack of the duo.

Grey didn't dare to let the Elemental Warrior get close to him, after suffering at its hands once, he didn't dare to take its attack again, so seeing the Elemental Warrior coming towards his direction after it sent City Lord Vaughn flying, he retreated without a second thought.

Lord Harry did the same, unfortunately for him, the Elemental Warrior had its eyes on him and it chased after him.

The Elemental Warrior suddenly halted, throwing its fist to the right which was empty.

Bang!

A shockwave spread out from the empty space as City Lord Vaughn's figure appeared from the void. The impact of the blow forced him to take a few steps back, while the Elemental Warrior remained motionless. Thanks to the attack of the two City Lords, City Lord Vaughn was able to rush back into battle.

The other two City Lords rushed to City Lord Vaughn's side. Just as the duo got there, the Elemental Warrior attacked. A burst of flames spread out with it in the corner as three fire birds appeared in the sky, spreading their over five meters wide wings, they each lunged at the three City Lords who were standing together.

None of the City Lords dared to slight this attack, each using their respective abilities to evade or block the attack. While the trio were busy with stopping this attack, the Elemental Warrior locked onto Lord Harry once again and rushed towards him.

Seeing the Elemental Warrior set on him, Lord Harry felt like crying. It was clear that the Elemental Warrior had its eyes on him for some reason, and he couldn't comprehend why it picked him. He turned his eyes to see Grey distancing himself from the Elemental Warrior.

'Damn it!' Lord Harry's heart sank as he realized that he would have to face the Elemental Warrior on his own.

Gritting his teeth, he continued retreating as he prepared all his defenses.

The Elemental Warrior attacked the moment it got within range.

Lord Harry, who had done everything he could to protect himself felt his legs give up on him as he felt the momentum of the incoming attack.

'I can't block this.'

Lord Harry was an experienced fighter, he knew right there and then that with his capabilities and all his trump cards, he still couldn't evade or block this attack. With eyes filled with despair, he gave up and closed his eyes to wait for his death.

A shout rocked him a split second later.

"Move!"

Opening his eyes, he saw an unfamiliar figure grabbing him by the collar and throwing him to the side with shocking strength while also hastily retreating in the other direction.

The unfamiliar figure was unexpectedly Grey who had appeared beside him at an unknown time. He didn't even understand how Grey managed to appear by his side, but using the momentum from Grey's throw, he increased his speed, in hopes of escaping the impact of the Elemental Warrior's attack.

The second Grey tossed Lord Harry to the side and also hurriedly retreated, the intended attack exploded in the place Lord Harry was standing in a quarter of a second ago, but that wasn't all. Both Grey and Lord Harry's retreating figures were quickly swallowed by the explosion.

Boom!

A second later, two figures shot out from within the scope of the explosion, both crashing into the ground and wall respectively, causing craters a few meters deep in their wake.

The Elemental Warrior chased after Lord Harry's figure, but was stopped by City Lord Vaughn who had extricated himself from the firebird. He took out three strange beads and crushed them. As soon as the beads were crushed, the temperature in the entire underground cave plummeted, and the area within a fifty meters radius of the Elemental Warrior had snow falling.

The Elemental Warrior which was initially in hot pursuit of Lord Harry halted its movement, before its body started to release mist into the air as the sizzling sound of water clashing with a hot object rang out.

Grey crawled out of the crater just in time to see City Lord Vaughn crush the beads. Noticing the change in temperature, he knew City Lord Vaughn had used one of his trump cards.

'We have to escape, we can't defeat it.'

From a single look, he knew the beads will only be able to hold the Elemental Warrior back for a very short time.

He wasn't the only one with this thought in mind.

City Lord Vaughn who used the beads rushed to Lord Harry's side, picking him up, he yelled, "Escape!"

The others didn't need him to say anything as they all rushed towards the tunnel leading out of the underground cave. When they were coming into this place, they were very cautious, but at the moment, they didn't dare to stay here. The small space made it easy for the Elemental Warrior to contain all of them, but as long as they could escape from this place, then their chances of survival would see a significant increase.

City Lord Vaughn might have the highest cultivation stage, but the fastest was surprisingly Grey, the person who was seemingly farthest away from the exit.

Outside the underground cave.

It was still dark as it had only been a couple of hours since Grey and his group entered the tunnel leading to the underground cave. At this moment, a burst of light shot out from the small opening on the side of the mountain. Accompanying this light were four other lightstreams.

Grey was the first to come out, taking a glance behind him, he noticed City Lord Vaughn dragging Lord Harry with him as he followed behind him. The two City Lords were closely behind.

Boom!

The mountain they just exited shook as the upper part of it burst apart. A flaming red figure appeared before their eyes, its gaze locking on to Lord Harry's figure once again.

Grey and the others were forced to stop. The reason for this was because the red figure that was previously standing above the shattered mountain was currently standing in front of them, blocking the path.

Grey's expression turned ugly, he was very confident in his abilities against a Ninth stage Sovereign, but a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior was different. Without his fusion orb, he knew that he couldn't even cause it any damages. Escaping is also proving to be very difficult, speed has always been his strongest forte, but against this Elemental Warrior, he felt hopeless. It couldn't be helped, after all, this was a Peak stage Sovereign Elemental Warrior, even a human Peak stage Sovereign will lose to it in most cases.

'We can't escape.'

This realization dawned on not just Grey, but the other four as well. The only reason they haven't been defeated yet is because this was an Elemental Warrior which wasn't sentient. If they were going up against a human Peak Sovereign that's as powerful as this Elemental Warrior, they wouldn't even be able to survive the first few rounds.

"What do we do?" One of the City Lords asked.

Before crossing blows with the Elemental Warrior, they felt they could outlast it, but after a short exchange, they realized in front of absolute strength, nothing else mattered.

"We fight!" City Lord Vaughn declared seriously, there was nothing else they could do. Escaping was useless in front of the Elemental Warrior, so all they could do was fight.

The others knew this was the answer, but how could they not know that it was all but a futile effort?

Grey's eyes were focused on the Elemental Warrior while he was communicating with both Void and the bunny leader. Although he knew he wasn't a match for this Elemental Warrior, he still had some confidence that if things got out of hand, he could still escape with the help of both Void and the bunny leader. They were two top space element experts, which gave him absolute confidence in escaping from this place.

"Let's see just how powerful a Peak Sovereign really is?" Grey muttered under his breath as his eyes changed. Now that he was no longer in a confined space, he didn't need to hold back.
