Chapter 1827 Stall It
Chapter 1827 Stall It
City Lord Vaughn was about to issue orders when he suddenly noticed a crazed look in Grey's eyes, before he could say a word, Grey's figure had bolted straight at the Elemental Warrior. He was about to curse out when he heard Grey's voice.
"I'm faster, help me slow it down. We can slowly grind it to death this way."
Even though City Lord Vaughn almost spat out blood out of anger, he still didn't dare to stay idle. He knew that Grey wouldn't carelessly charge to his death, and from what he had seen, Grey has a shocking movement technique that made him even faster than City Lord Vaughn who was two minor stages higher than him in terms of cultivation. With this in mind, he called the others so they could cooperate with Grey.
He had barely recovered from his initial shock of Grey's brazenness when he got another surprise from Grey's attack. During the first exchange with the Elemental Warrior while they were still in the underground cave, he sensed the power behind Grey's attacks then and it didn't seem too out of the ordinary. However, the aura Grey's current attack gave off was almost on the same level as his own personal attacks. If he wasn't seeing it firsthand, he would've never believed a Sixth stage Sovereign would be able to unleash strength rivalling a top Eighth stage Sovereign like himself. If he was the one facing this attack, he knew for a fact that he wouldn't dare to take it head-on. How could such a genius exist? He had seen a few top geniuses from the Raging Flame Faction, but he knew for a fact that none of them had been this powerful while in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane.
'No wonder he didn't show any fear in front of me.' City Lord Vaughn had felt that Grey was relatively too calm during their first encounter, only now did he understand why Grey didn't have any ounce of fear towards him.
"Alas…" A hint of dejection appeared in City Lord Vaughn's eyes, even with Grey's shocking strength, his opponent isn't a simpleton. Even the attack of a Ninth stage Sovereign could barely cause the Elemental Warrior any harm.
Just as City Lord Vaughn expected, Grey's fire arrow was met by a fist of flames that destroyed it upon contact, the fist didn't stop there, as it charged straight towards Grey's location.
City Lord Vaughn reacted quickly, sending out a stream of fire to block the fist's path. Grey used the opportunity to retreat, but the Elemental Warrior didn't give him the chance to retreat as it chased after him.
Grey didn't panic, with his space element, as well as the others there to help him restrain the Elemental Warrior, he believed it would be hard for it to hit him.
Boom! Bang! Boom!
The figures crisscrossed in the sky, with one chasing and the other fleeing, but in circles. The chasing figure would occasionally be stopped by a few attacks coming from different directions, but its eyes were dead set on the figure it was chasing.
The expected desperate battle didn't take place, rather, it was more like target practice as with the exception of Grey, the others were attacking the Elemental Warrior with free reign. At first they were cautious with their attacks as they were afraid of accidentally hitting Grey, but as the battle progressed, they realized that Grey had never been caught within the range of their attacks. Realizing this, they became even more bold with their attacks. Thanks to this, the Elemental Warrior was easily stuck in a game of cat and mouse, while it was slowly being depleted by the attacks of the City Lords. There have been a few times the Elemental Warrior will turn its attention to Lord Harry, but it would be met by a vicious attack by Grey.
Each time Grey clashed head-on with the Elemental Warrior, he always came out on the losing end, and if not for City Lord Vaughn's timely intervention a few times, he would've been seriously injured by the Elemental Warrior by now. However, Grey never stopped, even when he came out on the losing end, he didn't sustain any serious injuries, which in turn fueled his fighting spirit.
City Lord Vaughn and the others understood that although Grey couldn't beat the Elemental Warrior, his heaven-defying movement technique made it impossible for the Elemental Warrior to hold him down. The plan was to deplete the energy fueling the Elemental Warrior, and now that the Elemental Warrior had something it couldn't catch, the others finally started to see hope.
While the others were on edge as they assisted Grey from the side, the pressure Grey was under was almost ten times their own. Before clashing with the Elemental Warrior, he knew that he wasn't its opponent, but after clashing with it a few times, he realized that he still greatly underestimated the abilities of a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior. His defenses were like sheets of paper in front of it, while his attacks were like the gentle night breeze, not even capable of making the Elemental Warrior flinch.
The longer the battle lasted, the more he realized how massive the gap between him and a Peak Sovereign was. If this was a Human Peak Sovereign Elementalist, Grey's group would've been defeated by now.
Boom!
Grey clashed with the Elemental Warrior once again, and the impact rocked his entire body. Regaining his footing, his pupils dilated as the Elemental Warrior appeared in front of him, slashing a fire blade at him.
City Lord Vaughn appeared by his side just before the fire blade struck, with a powerful yell, City Lord Vaughn pushed out both palms as two palms made of flames appeared, clasping the fire blade.
The palms were only able to slow down the fire blade for barely a second, but that was enough time for Grey to retreat. Creating a good distance between himself and the Elemental Warrior, he spoke up.
"Stall it!"
