Chapter 1964: Strange Coincidence
Chapter 1964: Strange Coincidence
The situation in the Gnome Races’ World was vastly different from the Human World. The moment Grey stepped out from the Royal Palace, he was welcomed to the sight of thousands of Gnomes who were clearly getting ready for war. Compared to what he saw in Red City and the likes, it was evident Humans were not even the least bit ready for this war. This could not be helped as the Gnome Race was fully united under the Royal Family while the Humans were not as unified. Taking into account that there were Necromancers who could betray Humans at any given time, the chances of Humans being unified is getting slimmer and slimmer.
His arrival alerted those around, and after being greeted by everyone, he nodded in response as he did not bother to engage in any conversations with them. He was currently posing as the Seventh Prince of the Gnome Race, so it was natural that everyone he came across would rush over to greet him. After walking around the Royal Palace for about an hour or so, he realized there was no way he would be able to know if the Principal was taken here without asking any questions. Luckily, he was currently the Seventh Prince of the Gnome Race, and with the top Princes dead after his last visit, he knew for a fact the Seventh Prince had become favorite for the position of the next Emperor.
Randomly finding a Late stage Sovereign, he asked about any news from the last mission. The Late stage Sovereign reported to him about the place attacked in the Aurora Continent. He asked a few more Gnomes and realized they were not aware of the attack on True Dawn.
Sitting in a garden he fell deep in thoughts.
‘This is going to be difficult. If these people have no idea about the mission on True Dawn, then they definitely would have no way to know if there were any captives.’
At the thought of captives, a thought came to mind. Most of the captives would naturally be taken to the same area. Well, there would be some who would be taken for questioning and he felt given the importance of True Dawn since it was the place the key to breaking the seal was, those captured from that place would be part of the latter that would be taken for questioning. Asking around, it did not take long before he was pointed in a certain direction.
Following the directions, he soon found the place where the important prisoners were being kept. After looking around, he was left disappointed as he did not find any signs of the Principal. After a moment of contemplating, he felt it was within reason since it had not been too long since the attack on True Dawn. The best thing to do now was to wait and see.
Since he was in control of the Seventh Prince, he wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity. He walked around, trying to gather as much information as he could while waiting for any news of the Principal. To make his search easier, he told the guards about his interest in rare Magical Beasts from the Human World and if they find any they should let him know about it as soon as possible. His Teacher told him Brown was also taken, which meant she would be brought here with the Principal if they were captured together. Brown is a rare Magical Beast being a Griffin, there was no way these guards would not know this too.
A few hours later. Grey got some useful information, although it was not what he was waiting for, it still gave him a clue about the incident. Four Half God Plane Gnome experts were killed, shaking the Gnomes. These were Half God Plane Gnomes, they had lost a few back in the Azure Continent when they were ambushed. This time it was different, they were the ones who launched an attack. If they did not make rapt preparations, they would have never attacked. Bringing about the question, how did the Humans turn the situation and kill four of their top experts?
The news was contained, nevertheless, Grey has been communicating with a lot of the top officials lately. When he heard this, he knew the battle at True Dawn had likely come to an end. When the explosion happened, although the Sovereigns from the Gnome Race were allowed to escape, the Half God experts were not given the same chance. Taking the opportunity, Grey asked the Late stage Sovereign he heard the news about the deaths of the Half God Plane experts from about any potential prisoners and got news that made him heave a sigh of relief. A good number of people were taken from True Dawn, and they were all taken to a different place. Others might have a hard time getting into this place, but not him. He was currently the Seventh Prince of the Gnome Race, one touted to be the next Emperor of the Gnome Race, of course he could go into such a place.
Wasting no time, Grey rushed to the place where the captured True Dawn members were reportedly kept. During the time he was hurrying there, he also received news about Brown, his Teacher’s Griffin. He had told some of the guards about his interest in these rare Magical Beasts, so it was only proper they let him know the moment they saw one. The guards were shocked when they saw the Griffin being brought in the moment the Seventh Prince relayed his desire for such beasts. They could not help but feel the coincidence was just too strange. Even though they felt it was strange, they did not think too much about it and concluded it was just a coincidence. Never would they have thought their Seventh Prince was not the Seventh Prince at the moment and was being controlled by another person, a Human at that!
