Chapter 1966: Human Marketplace

Chapter 1966: Human Marketplace

Gnome World.

In what looked like a marketplace. Looking around, Grey could barely contain the murderous intent in his heart; the reason for this was because this marketplace only sold one item… Humans. From young to old, male and female, even some Barbarians were present here. It was evident even they had not escaped from the clutches of the Gnomes.

Controlling the Seventh Prince, he made sure to hide his almost overflowing killing intent. The Sovereign who led him here sensed it and could not help but give him a strange look. Noticing this, the Seventh Prince looked at the Humans with a frosty expression and said, “I’ve always hated Humans to my very core.”

The Gnome did not suspect anything. Of all the Princes of the Gnome Race, the Seventh Prince has had multiple contacts with them. Most of the higher ups in the Gnome Race still vividly remembered the incident that happened in the Small World that housed the three Races when Grey camped outside the portal from the Gnome Race, killing anyone that came out from it. The Gnomes even went as far as trying to make sure they killed Grey, sending someone from a higher Plane to chase him. The result was completely out of the expectations of the Gnomes as he managed to survive the pursuit of someone a Plane ahead of him. It was from that moment they placed the bounty on his head. It has been a few years now and they have still not been able to kill the latter.

The Gnomes would rather kill Grey as soon as possible than to kill a Human Half God Plane expert. This goes to show just how dangerous they felt he was. This is not surprising from their perspective given the fact that he is able to neutralize their Puppets, not just that, but in that moment they too would be incapacitated. Even though it was only for a short second, that was enough time for their opponents to fatally injure them or even kill them. The Gnomes have been trying to come up with ways to make the link between them and the Puppets invisible. Unfortunately, only a few of them are able to do this, and the strength of these Puppets are always a few stages lower than that of the Gnome. A weak Puppet was practically worthless in battle. If they wanted to make these Puppets powerful, the resources needed were unimaginable, even for the Gnome Race.

One has to know that one of the reasons the Gnomes were invading the Human World was due to their waning resources.

In the marketplace.

The Seventh Prince was looking around, searching for a particular person. After waiting for a few hours, he got information that some people were sent to this place if they were not deemed important to be taken to the prison. These people would naturally be sold to countless households in the Gnome World, being used as slaves and for other experiments. Regardless, their end would not be nice in any way. The Gnomes have never had anything good planned out for Humans.

Over the past few hours, he had not seen the Principal taken in as one of the Prisoners. Since that was the case, then his only choice was to come here and search for him. The Principal might be of no importance to the Gnomes, so the chances of him being brought here to be sold was quite high. Asking around, he found out that some of the captives recently brought to the Gnome World from the Human World were brought here and only the important figures were taken to the cell. The reason Brown was among them was due to her being a rare Magical Beast. A Griffin was a rare sight even in the Human World, much less the Gnome World that had none to speak of. Of course Gnomes have their own rare Magical Beasts, but none of them looked as majestic as a Griffin.

“Your Highness, could it be that you’re searching for a Human with a specific strength?” The Sovereign Gnome leading the Seventh Prince asked.

They have been walking around the marketplace for close to thirty minutes now and the Seventh Prince had not shown any interest in any of the Humans on display. Even the ones who were Sovereigns have not even received a glance from the Seventh Prince which was unexpected. If the Seventh Prince was searching for a Human he wanted to use as a Puppet, then these Sovereigns were the best choice. He would not even need to come here as a single order would bring the top captured Human Sovereigns to his palace.

Grey almost facepalmed when he heard this.

‘Why didn’t I think of this since?’ He had been wasting his time around when he could have just told the Sovereign here the stages of the Humans he was interested in. According to his memory, the Principal should have been injured while he was in the Early stages of the Sage Plane or the Peak of the Overlord Plane. If he could reduce his search range to within that region, it would be easier for him to search for the Principal.

With a calm expression he replied, “Anyone in the Early stages of the Sage Plane and lower.”

Hearing the Seventh Prince’s specifications, the Gnome could not help but take a second look at the Seventh Prince, “Your Highness, forgive my boldness, I don’t think those weak Humans will not be able to serve Your Highness’ needs.”

A chilling aura came from the Seventh Prince’s body, making the Sovereign gulp hard. Taking a cursory glance at the Gnome, he opened his mouth, “I’ll act like I did not hear what you just said. The next time you speak out of line, you will lose your head.”

The Gnome felt his back drenched in sweat when he heard this. Although the Seventh Prince sounded casual, he could tell that he was not joking. Choking down his anger, he hurriedly apologized, “Forgive my words Your Highness.”
