Chapter 2080: Stupid Fool

Grey did not argue with the bunny leader as he knew the bunny leader was better at this compared to him. He quickly brought out some healing tonics he had on him and applied them to the places with serious injuries. His light element was also put to use as he tried to hasten his recovery process.

It took a few minutes before the bunny leader spoke, “The impact of the last attack messed up the space here. I can’t pinpoint his location, but I can take us to the general region he was teleported to. We will start tracking him from there.”

Grey’s eyes snapped open when he heard this, he had been waiting for an update from the bunny leader while he was healing his wounds. Although he was nowhere near healed, he did not dare dilly-dally. He needed to make sure the emissary did not report back to the other Gnomes as his current strength was still hidden from the knowledge of the Gnomes. To the Gnomes, he had been missing for a few months now or so, and he wanted to keep that element of surprise, at least for now.

The bunny leader wrapped both Grey and Void in his space element and they disappeared on the spot.

Around thirty kilometers away from where the explosion happened in the forest from Grey and the emissary’s attack.

A tear appeared in space and the figure of the emissary crashed out from it. The emissary fell to the ground as he panted heavily, a hint of dread evident in his eyes.

The emissary muttered while coughing, “I… need to… leave this place. That boy and his magical beasts are good with the space element.”

Still bloodied and weak, the emissary did not even try to recover. He gathered his energy and bolted in a particular direction.

After flying for almost three kilometers, he lost all energy to continue his escape. With no other choice, he searched for a cave to hide.

Thirty minutes later.

While the emissary was deep in cultivation, his eyes snapped open and for the first time today, he felt fear.

‘Impossible!’ He did not believe what he just sensed, but one of the detection arrays he dropped around this place alerted him of the presence of Grey and his two magical beasts.

It had only been a few minutes, how did they find him so quickly?

The emissary felt like his head was about to explode. Even when he was coming here, although he was very weak, he still made sure to hide his aura and scent to avoid being detected or tracked. So how did they find him?

Not panicking, he decided to observe and not expose himself. Besides, there was no assurance that he had been located by the group.

Outside the cave where the emissary was hiding.

Grey, Void, and the bunny leader were slowly going past a marsh.

“Are you sure he came in this direction?” Void asked.

“Yes, if you ask me one more time I’ll leave the tracking to you.” The bunny leader replied, irritated that his ability to track was being doubted by Void.

“It’s not that I’m trying to undermine you here, but you should just send your scouts, they would’ve found him sooner.” Void was naturally not bothered by the bunny leader’s threat.

Grey, seeing this stepped in, “You know he’s tracking the residual space particles on the body of the emissary, there’s no way the scouts can achieve something like this.”

“Hmph! He’s just trying to be important.” Void snorted, not impressed by the bunny leader’s excuse.

Grey motioned for the bunny leader to ignore Void. The bunny leader snorted coldly before focusing on tracking the emissary. A minute later he looked at a particular spot before pointing with certainty, “He’s there.”

Grey and Void looked in the direction he was pointing at, and it was a place covered with vines. There were no openings to speak of, at least none they could see.

They moved closer and as Grey started inspecting it, he soon found a small opening that looked like it had just been resealed in a haste.

Taking a step back, he used his earth element to control the small opening in the cave, rapidly enlarging it to their size. They walked into the cave, and just as they were about to go deeper, a bolt of lightning shot straight for them.

“He knows we’re here.”

Grey dodged to the side, leaving the attack to Void and the bunny leader to deal with. The bunny leader was not going to allow Grey to dump the attack on him and disappeared even before Grey evaded the attack.

Void, seeing that they left him to deal with the attack, cursed but still dealt with it. Luckily, the emissary was no longer at his peak, so his attack was significantly weaker than before. Had the emissary still had the strength of a Peak Sovereign, then it would have been a little difficult for Void to deal with the attack without sustaining serious injuries.

Boom!

The impact from the explosion rocked the cave. Before the others could regain their bearings, the emissary shot out from the cave, heading straight for the exit.

“After him.”

Grey and the bunny leader could not stop the emissary, and since Void was still rocked from the last attack, he was not able to react in time.

The trio shot out of the cave, chasing after the emissary who had bolted towards the eastern direction, avoiding the region where there were more human activities.

Grey and his entourage chased after him as they tried to stop him.

The emissary was cursing uncontrollably as he flew away. He wanted nothing more than to kill Natt and strip him of all his flesh right now. When he first sensed the death of the Ninth stage Sovereign Gnome, he wanted to silently observe the place and know if he would fight or not. But Natt reassured him that he could come, and even he underestimated Grey when he finally reached.

“That stupid fool!”
