Chapter 115.2 - Campus Oddities
Chapter 115.2 - Campus Oddities
The style of drawing was a bit like children’s sketches, with messy scribbled lines, bold colors and exaggerated expressions.
There were girls in red dresses and pigtails, boys playing football and cheerleaders holding ribbons in their hands.
The graffiti spread from the blackboard all the way to the surrounding walls.
“God Xin, these graffiti look so creepy.” Liang Xi found a good seat and came over to Bai Lixin’s side. “This mouth is drawn so big and painted so red, as if it’s going to eat someone. Although the chalk has faded, it’s still scary.”
“No, it’s more scary when it’s faded.”
“If it’s this faded, how long do you think this classroom has been empty?”
Liang Xi pointed to the blackened wall in the corner overhead, “And look at that, the wall is so black, it looks like it’s been burned.”
“It’s not like it was burned, there are indeed signs of burning there.” A voice interjected.
Liang Xi nodded, “Mmm, yes… Huh, you, you’re Su Fan, right? Hello.”
Bai Lixin examined the uninvited man as Su Fan continued, “Hello, Liang, is it?”
After greeting Liang Xi, Su Fan’s excessively dark eyes looked at Bai Lixin and he extended his hand, “Hello Bai Lixin, it’s nice to meet you.”
Bai Lixin hesitated for a second before extending his hand. “Hello.”
The moment he held it, a cold touch immediately swept down the palm of his hand and went through his whole body.
Su Fan tightened his grip on Bai Lixin’s hand for a moment before slowly drawing back his hand.
Bai Lixin frowned slightly, “Su Fan, your hand is so cold.”
“Yes, I am cold and my limbs have always been cold,” Su Fan said in a relaxed tone, “On the contrary, yours are very warm.”
“Are your limbs very cold? Then do you usually have back pain too?” Liang Xi’s eyes showed worry. “Although I’m a veterinarian, I’ve also studied Chinese medicine for a while. You should be careful if your hands and feet are cold, it’s a sign of kidney deficiency. Drink more wolfberries and saffron. You’re still so young, don’t fall ill.”
Su Fan’s eyes dimmed for a moment and he squeezed a few words out of his teeth, “Thanks for the reminder, I don’t have back pain.”
Liang Xi nodded very seriously. “Oh, not having back pain is a small comfort. If it gets to the point where your back hurts, then it’s a bit serious. Your name is Su Fan, right? Let’s add each other as friends, I have some medicine, I can give you some when we go back to the game lobby.”
“No need,” Su Fan raised the corner of his lips but his smile was a bit cold. “I don’t have kidney deficiency, I’m just naturally cold. Teacher Zhao should be back soon, you’d better go back to your seat if you have nothing to do, lest you be caught and put in a small dark room.”
On hearing Su Fan’s words, Liang Xi immediately looked towards the door nervously. “Thanks for the reminder, brother! I’ll go back first then, God Xin, just call me if there’s anything you need.”
When Liang left, Su Fan looked at Bai Lixin once again, his dark eyes looking bottomless, “There was a fire in this classroom, even the corners of the walls overhead are blackened. It seems that the fire wasn’t small, I wonder if anyone died in it.”
“There are signs that people took classes in here after the fire, the desks and chairs are aged but there were no signs of burning, and the graffiti on the blackboard and walls looks painted over the char marks.”
“Could there be some kind of task in this matter?”
Bai Lixin, “Maybe there is.”
As if in response to the two, the system’s prompt rang out in Bai Lixin’s mind.
[Ding! Congratulations, player, for triggering the exploration task – [Search for the truth behind the classroom fire.] The difficulty is C level, and you will get 3000 mall points for completing the task.]
[Accept / Reject]
Bai Lixin clicked “Accept” and looked at Su Fan, “You don’t look like you’re only at the 45th level.”
“I’m a newbie, I entered this game not long ago,” Su Fan’s eyes swept over Bai Lixin from top to bottom, “You don’t look 21 years old either.”
Bai Lixin smiled, “Then how old do I look?”
Su Fan’s eyes eventually returned to Bai Lixin’s face, “You look like you’re 18, you’d look great in a school uniform.”
He paused and added, “You look good even when not wearing one.”
Bai Lixin chuckled, “Why do I get the feeling that you’re trying to flirt with me?”
Su Fan, “Then your feeling should be correct. Aren’t you interested in me too? You’ve been sneaking glances at me from the start.”
“Your eyes are like hooks,” Su Fan slowly moved closer, “hooking me over one after another and making me shy.”
Bai Lixin raised his eyebrows, “Heh, I really didn’t think that you were the shy type.”
Su Fan’s warm breath was already close to Bai Lixin’s ear, “That’s the truth, I’m really shy. You, on the other hand, are quite bold, am I that good looking?”
Bai Lixin retreated and evaded Su Fan’s ambiguity, saying indifferently, “Su Fan, you’re looking at it wrong.”
Su Fan raised his eyebrows, but did not say anything more. He just leaned back to a comfortable distance for the two to communicate.
“Is the one called Liang Xi a friend of yours?” Su Fan spoke, “I saw you save him when entering the school gates.”
“Yes.” Bai Lixin’s stunning eyes were scrutinizing, “you saw me, but strangely enough, I don’t seem to have seen you.”
Su Fan, “What’s so strange about that? A hundred people lined up, it’s normal not to have seen me. And I’m very pitiful, I’ve been in the face, or I would have come in most one.”
“Oh?” There was doubt in Bai Lixin’s eyes, “That’s true, I guess I just missed you then.”
The two men ended their conversation and Bai Lixin continued to study the School Rules and Regulations in his hand.
The table was supposed to be black, but it was strewn with crosses and ballpoint pen marks, only the edges of the table still had the black paint on them.
Bai Lixin’s hand fell on the table, and he gently stroked the marks on it.
There were only a few scratches, no writing clues.
He put his hand into the hole in the table, and just as he was about to try to see what marks were on the back of the table, his hand suddenly came into contact with something cold.
It was cold, very much like the touch of… skin.
Bai Lixin was stunned for a moment and his fingers moved slightly. This time, his hand didn’t touch skin, but felt something like hair.
The hair seemed to be alive as it was only a dozen centimeters long when he first touched it, but the moment his fingertips touched it, the hair grew rapidly and wildly, and had gathered in his hand in an instant.
Bai Lixin leaned back in his seat, his gaze slowly moving down.
Just as he was about to look in the table hole, the hair in his hand suddenly withdrew, and all there was only a narrow darkness by the time his eyes looked inside.
The strange thing had disappeared.
“Did you touch something?” Su Fan’s voice came over from the side.
Bai Lixin looked over and found that Su Fan’s hand was also reaching for the table hole.
Bai Lixin, “Yes, you touched it too?”
Su Fan, “Yeah, what did you touch?”
“A handful of hair that moved, but it had disappeared by the time I looked over,” Bai Lixin didn’t withhold any information. “And you?”
“Then I didn’t touch the same thing as you,” Su Fan said, pulling out his hand that was hidden in the hole in the table, “I touched this.”
A slender black box.
“A box?” Bai Lixin looked at Su Fan, “Do you mind opening it in front of me?”
Su Fan opened the pen box and revealed the pen inside, “I don’t mind, I’m not a stingy man. I can give it to you as long as you ask.”
“Oh,” Bai Lixin smiled awkwardly, “that’s not necessary, who gives such a supernatural gift to someone?”
There was only one pen inside the case, and when Bai Lixin picked it up, he noticed a small line of words engraved on it.
[For my best friend Sheng’er, may our friendship last forever, hang on to the hook for a hundred years, and our friendship will never change. –Xiao Jing]
Su Fan came over, “So it was a birthday present, but it’s in my table. I don’t know if the person who sat here before me was Xiao Jing who is ready to give the gift or Sheng’er who was supposed to receive it.”
The system prompt rang out again.
[Ding! Congratulations to the player for discovering the random task – [Unfilled Wish]. Help Xiao Jing to give his best friend, Sheng’er, the gift. The difficulty of this task is level B. You will receive 6000 Mall Points for completing the task.]
[Accept / Reject].
Bai Lixin looked at Su Fan hesitantly, “Have you received the system quest?”
Su Fan, “Yes, but I refused it.”
Bai Lixin, “Why?”
Su Fan, “I am not a stingy man. I’ll pass it on to you, it is now yours.”
Bai Lixin looked at Su Fan for a long time before clicking [Accept], “You’re not trying to pursue me, are you?”
Su Fan gave a “Huh”, “Is it so obvious? I thought I had hidden it well enough.”
“……” Bai Lixin, “You should know, I have a lover and we are married.”
Su Fan smiled, “It’s my decision to pursue you, you don’t have to worry about me.”
Bai Lixin pondered for two seconds, “However, I was widowed. So, I’m single now.”
Su Fan’s smile stiffened for a second, “What do you mean?”
Bai Lixin put the pen back in the case and gave it back, “It means nothing, let’s take it step by step.”
“Thank you for the pen.”

In the live broadcast room.
[??? Did God Xin change his taste this time? The man in white is also handsome, but he’s not the same style as the big boss.]
[I seem to have obtained some great information, what did God Xin just say? He’s married? And widowed?]
[He was so affectionate when he was talking about his lover. Was that the reason he came to this game, he wants to revive his lover? I’m a bit confused, God Xin seems to be “playing” well with the big boss too.]
[The circle is really chaotic!]
