Chapter 666.2
Chapter 666.2
The butler stepped forward and said, “Of course, he’s still here. He’s been waiting for you in the drawing room.”
The young master walked down the stairs in his leather shoes. “Let’s go.”
Xia Chi looked outside, where there was no sign of the two who had run off, then glanced at the young master, who was walking away.
After thinking for a moment, he quietly followed the young master.
He had already lost two people; he couldn’t afford to lose this one.
Everyone in this house treated the young master as their ‘white moonlight.’ It seemed like the man with the teardrop mole did too.
But unlike others who simply wanted to please the young master, the teardrop mole man had secretly fantasized about a fake young master to please himself.
As a seasoned player of the horror game, Xia Chi’s stealth skills were top-notch.
He trailed behind the group, managing to follow them all the way to the drawing room without being detected.
While the others entered the drawing room, Xia Chi crouched at the door.
The drawing room had two doors that met in the middle when closed, leaving a narrow crack between them.
Xia Chi pressed his eye to the crack and saw two people sitting across from each other on the sofa.
One was the young master, and the other was a stranger he hadn’t seen before. He had a Western face, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
As Xia Chi looked at the Westerner, he felt like he’d seen that face somewhere before.
He thought about it, but couldn’t quite recall.
Xia Chi didn’t dwell on it, thinking it might be a modeled face used by Sun Ning’s team when designing the character.
“Mr. Li, I want to know, have you been the one hindering our oil transport business all this time?” The Westerner spoke in flawless Chinese.
Xia Chi quickly made sense of it.
It made sense, after all.
If the man had spoken in his native language, he, the player, wouldn’t have understood. For the sake of the player’s experience, using a familiar language was the right call.
The young master lowered his eyes slightly, then casually picked up the teacup in front of him and took a sip. “Yes, it was me. Is there a problem with that?”
“Did I offend you?” Mr. Bill’s voice was tinged with anger. “You’ve ruined several of my major international oil deals! Why did you do that? We’ve always cooperated well, haven’t we?”
The young master set down the teacup and lazily lifted his eyelids. His expression was cold and unyielding. “Mr. Bill, don’t you know the answer by now? On the surface, you appear to be cooperating with us, but in reality, you’ve been supplying us with inferior oil. I thought you were a smart man and would correct your mistake after my warning. But seeing you come here to question me, I realize I was wrong. You’re nothing but a foolish businessman.”
Bill slammed the table and stood up in fury. “Li Mi, I came here today and spoke politely out of respect for your family. Don’t think I’m actually afraid of you. The Bill family is the largest oil family in the world. If I wanted, your Li family wouldn’t be able to survive internationally in a matter of minutes.”
The young master didn’t blink. He crossed his arms and raised his head slightly, his face full of disdain. “Is that so?”
“Butler, tell him.”
The butler who was standing behind the young master nodded respectfully. “Mr. Bill, I regret to inform you that just a moment ago, the Bill Group declared bankruptcy. Your family is no longer the largest oil family in the world, and you have been disowned by the Bill family.”
The blond man looked shocked. “That’s impossible! What kind of international joke is this?”
The butler raised the black folder in his hand, revealing a tablet inside.
The screen displayed what seemed to be a live press conference. The man in the video wore a suit and had features resembling Mr. Bill, but older.
“I hereby solemnly announce that Jacob Bill, former executive director of the Bill Group, has been disowned by the Bill family. As of today, he is no longer a member of the Bill family, and his actions no longer represent the family’s interests.”
The blond man’s eyes widened and he frantically pulled out his phone to verify.
The phone rang twice before being answered. A cold male voice came through the other end: “I know what you want to ask. You shouldn’t have, under any circumstances, offended Young Master Li Mi. This is the cost of your arrogance. Because of you, the Bill family has paid a heavy price and is now bankrupt. Are you happy? From today on, you are no longer part of our family! We do not have a sinner like you in the Bill family! Take care of yourself!”
The call was cut off. Bill slumped into his chair, his hair disheveled and his eyes hollow, his earlier arrogance gone.
The young master said, “Mr. Bill, despite the fact that our oil prices were higher than other countries, you still sent premium oil to other nations while delivering inferior oil to ours. And this is not all. You have repeatedly insulted us at parties, your words full of disdain, all while enjoying our hospitality. Did you really think I was blind and deaf, easy to bully? This is the punishment you deserve.”
The blond man was filled with regret. “I’m sorry, I was wrong. I truly realize my mistake now.”
Xia Chi: “…”
Uh, Young Master Li Mi is just ruthless!
Such a charismatic yet unattainable person was indeed someone the man with the teardrop mole could never approach in his lifetime. No wonder he had to resort to dark fantasies to satisfy the illusions in his heart.
Who knew what kind of expression this noble and aloof young master would have if he found out he had become the protagonist of his servant’s 18+ fantasies, and that he had been toyed with, made into an intersex, prone to lacrimal incontinence, and suffering from skin hunger.
The young master stood up, “I’m tired, I’m going to rest now. Butler, see the guest out.”
The butler: “Mr. Bill, our young master has spoken, please leave now.”
As soon as the young master was about to come out, Xia Chi quickly hid in the corner.
After a moment, the young master walked out of the reception room. He didn’t leave right away but instead looked in Xia Chi’s direction. “Come out.”
Had he been discovered?
Xia Chi hesitated for a moment, then stepped out from the corner.
The young master frowned slightly, looking Xia Chi up and down. “You look unfamiliar, are you the new chef?”
Xia Chi answered, “Yes.”
The young master continued, “Why were you hiding here and eavesdropping?”
This was a question he knew how to answer.
Xia Chi raised his head. “Because I was worried about you, young master. I saw that man named Bill acting aggressively earlier, and I feared he might harm you. Out of concern, I didn’t care about the etiquette and followed secretly.”
The young master’s lips curled into a faint smile. “You worried too much. I’m fine, you should rest early.”
“Young master,” Seeing the young master about to leave, Xia Chi brazenly followed and stopped him, “Do you know a middle-aged man with a teardrop mole at the corner of his eye?”
Since they were already talking, there was nothing he couldn’t ask.
The young master quickly shook his head. “I don’t remember. What’s wrong with him? Is he from the villa?”
Xia Chi: “It’s nothing, I just ran into him in the villa’s garden. He’s been telling everyone that he’s your relative, so I wanted to confirm it. If he’s not, it would be best if he’s stopped from spreading false rumors.”
As expected, the young master, who was about to leave, paused. His brows furrowed slightly. “I don’t have such a relative. Butler, find this person and bring him to me. Let’s get to the bottom of this.”
The butler: “Yes, young master.”
Watching the young master leave, Xia Chi straightened up with a smile after successfully reporting the situation.
One thing subdued another. If he couldn’t find the man with the teardrop mole, someone else would be able to handle it!
But where had Tan Yue gone?
It had been quite a while, and there was still no sign of him.
Xia Chi glanced at the game time in the top right corner of the system. There were only 23 hours of game time left.
Less than a day remained.
The young master’s temper was indeed as the others had described. Even though he had been spying from outside, he didn’t scold him but simply told him to go and rest.
Xia Chi walked out of the villa and saw several workers trimming the garden plants outside.
The villa staff wore different uniforms depending on their duties.
The uniform he wore was for kitchen staff.
The maids he encountered earlier wearing an apron were responsible for cleaning the house.
The butler wore a standard black suit.
The workers trimming the plants wore the same uniform as the man with the teardrop mole that he had seen earlier that evening.
Xia Chi casually strolled over to the group. “Big brother, can I ask you something?”
The man wearing a hat and trimming the branches raised his eyes slightly. “What is it?”
Xia Chi: “Do you know a middle-aged man with a teardrop mole at the corner of his eye?”
“A teardrop mole? I don’t know him,” the man said. Then he called out to the person next to him, “Hey, do you know him?”
Another worker paused his task. “Are you talking about Da Fu? He had a teardrop mole by his eye, and his age matches what you’re describing. He’s not on shift today, so he’s not here. What do you need him for?”
Xia Chi: “He left something behind, and I want to return it to him. Do you know where he lives?”
The worker pointed toward the back of the garden. “Follow this path to the back, there’s a row of employee dormitories. He lives in the fifth room from the left. He’s probably still awake at this hour, so go knock on his door.”
Xia Chi’s eyes glimmered in the darkness. “Got it, thank you, Big Brother.”
“If you don’t want the trouble, you can leave the item with me, and I’ll give it to him when he comes on shift,” the worker offered.
Xia Chi smiled politely. “It’s no trouble at all, not even a bit!”
