Chapter 156 Part 2 – Punish Her a Little (II)
Chapter 156 Part 2 – Punish Her a Little (II)
Jiang Li glared up at him. “You’d better not mess with me today.”
Tong Yi put on a lazy, totally nonchalant expression. “Who’s got the nerve to mess with our Jiang Xiao Li? Just say the word—I’ll deal with them for you.”
Jiang Li stared at him. “Then deal with yourself first.”
Tong Yi looked genuinely surprised. “What did I do? Don’t tell me… you’re still mad about those two hickeys?”
As he spoke, he glanced at her neck, only to find the hickeys had disappeared, although he couldn’t tell if they had actually faded or if she had covered them up with makeup.
Jiang Li elbowed him in the stomach. “Can’t you be serious for once?”
Tong Yi grunted and, after a beat, replied, “Hey, that’s a vital spot for your lifelong happiness. Maybe you should be a little more careful.”
Jiang Li’s cheeks flushed. “I didn’t even hit you there! Stop talking like a pervert.”
Tong Yi’s eyes sparkled with amusement. He dragged out his words: “Which spot then?”
Jiang Li: “…”
When he saw her face turn red, Tong Yi leaned in closer. “Tell me what you were thinking of just now. Come on, educate me a little.”
Jiang Li shot him a glare. “You really are getting more shameless by the day.”
Tong Yi let out a soft hum. “I don’t care. I only want you now.”
As he spoke, he lifted her and placed her on the entryway cabinet, then guided her hands to wrap around his neck. “Jiang Xiao Li, do you have any idea how tempting you look right now?”
Jiang Li frowned slightly. “When did I tempt you?”
All this guy knew how to do was talk dirty all day long!
Tong Yi cupped her face in both hands until their noses were almost touching. “You don’t need to do anything. It’s my own lack of self-control. Every time I see you, I want to kiss you. And when I’m not with you, I still can’t stop thinking about you.”
Jiang Li whispered, “Can you stop thinking about that kind of stuff all the time? We just got together. Don’t you think things are moving a little too fast?”
Tong Yi stared into her eyes for a few seconds before letting out a low laugh. “Maybe a little. If your uncle finds out how far I’ve gone, he’s probably really going to break my legs.”
Jiang Li pressed her lips together. “As long as you know.”
Tong Yi looked deep into her eyes. “Jiang Xiao Li, will you trust me?”
Jiang Li, confused by his sudden shift in tone, asked, “Trust you about what?”
Tong Yi explained softly, “Trust that I would never really take advantage of you. As long as you don’t say yes, I’ll never cross the line.”
Jiang Li naturally knew that by “crossing the line,” he didn’t just mean kissing, hugging, or lifting her up.
She looked at Tong Yi. “But you just said earlier that your self-control isn’t very good.”
“Mm, it’s true that I don’t have much self-control. But for you, I can hold back,” Tong Yi said gently.
Jiang Li blinked up at him. “Are you being serious?”
Tong Yi nodded immediately. “Of course I am. When have I ever lied to you?”
He often wants to take things further, but if she showed even the slightest discomfort, he would never push.
Jiang Li pulled out her phone and opened the voice recording app. “Let’s record that, just in case you try to deny it later and I don’t have any evidence.”
Tong Yi was caught between laughter and helplessness. “What do you want to record?”
Jiang Li thought for a moment and said, “Just repeat what you just said—clearly and in detail, no mumbling.”
Tong Yi: “…”
It was a bit embarrassing, but under Jiang Li’s expectant gaze, he repeated everything he had just said.
As she recorded him, the corners of Jiang Li’s lips curved up slightly. Once it was done, she played it back to confirm there were no loopholes, then uploaded the recording to the cloud. She looked at Tong Yi and said, “I’m planning to sleep here tonight. Why don’t you stay over too?”
Tong Yi froze completely. After a long moment, he asked, “You’re serious?”
Jiang Li nodded. “Of course I’m serious. We’re flying back to Minjiang tomorrow. We can leave together—it’ll save a lot of time.”
Tong Yi was quiet for a few seconds, then replied in a soft voice, “Okay, whatever you say.”
After dinner, they curled up on the couch to watch a movie, as usual. But this time, Jiang Li didn’t snuggle up in Tong Yi’s arms like she normally did. Instead, she lay at the far end of the couch and stretched her legs into his lap.
She winked playfully. “Warm my feet for me, will you?”
Tong Yi smiled. “Of course.”
He reached out to hold her feet and warm them with his hands, but the next second, Jiang Xiao Li used her foot to lift the hem of his base layer and slide her foot into the warmth of his abdomen.
Tong Yi: “…”
Did Jiang Xiao Li really not know what that kind of gesture meant?
He forced himself to stay composed, but Jiang Li seemed determined to test him. Her feet kept squirming against him, completely refusing to stay still.
There was no way he could focus on the movie now. He grabbed one of her feet through his clothes and turned to look at her. “Is this fun for you?”
Jiang Li turned away from the screen and looked at him, puzzled. “What’s fun?”
Tong Yi: “…”
Okay. Maybe she really didn’t know what kind of effect this had on him.
Jiang Li turned back to the screen, her heart practically dancing with glee.
She had figured it out. If she didn’t blush or act shy, Tong Yi’s dirty jokes would noticeably decrease, and as long as she kept a completely straight face, he’d try to match her tone and act proper too.
Which meant that, as long as she controlled the tempo, she could completely take the upper hand.
Thankfully, her feet weren’t very sensitive. Even when one was being held in Tong Yi’s hand, it didn’t tickle, nor did it make her feel weak or flustered.
Thinking this, she slowly started moving her other foot again. When she heard Tong Yi’s breathing grow heavier—while she herself remained perfectly calm—she felt even more mischievous.
Then her foot bumped into something solid and cylindrical.
The pressure of Tong Yi’s grip on her other foot suddenly increased, and he let out a low, muffled groan.
Jiang Li was puzzled. “You carry a pen with you all the time?”
Tong Yi: “…”
What kind of pen is that thick!?
She must be doing this on purpose. No doubt about it.
Tong Yi pulled her foot out of his lap, grabbed the little blanket beside him, and wrapped it tightly around her legs. Then he muttered, “You watch the movie by yourself for a bit. I’m going to take a shower.”
Jiang Li asked curiously, “But the movie’s not even over. You’re already calling it a night?”
Tong Yi looked at her with a faint smile. “Are you sure you still want me to watch the movie?”
Jiang Li raised an eyebrow. “What else would I want you to do?”
Tong Yi: “…”
Fine. He’d admit defeat this time.
Watching Tong Yi flee in a panic, Jiang Li couldn’t help but burst into laughter. She thought he looked absolutely adorable when he was trying to act all serious!
If it weren’t for wanting to keep the act convincing, she’d have pulled out her phone and recorded a video on the spot.
Just as she was laughing happily, Tong Yi suddenly came back. He stood in front of the sofa, looking down at her from above, and asked, “Was that fun?”
Jiang Li quickly came up with an excuse. “I was watching the movie just now. There was a scene that was pretty funny.”
Tong Yi narrowed his eyes. “If I remember correctly, we’re watching a romance film where the female lead mistakenly thinks the male lead died. You found that funny?”
If he was right, Jiang Xiao Li hadn’t been paying attention to the movie at all. Her only entertainment tonight had been teasing him and watching him teeter on the edge of losing control.
But Jiang Li spoke righteously, “You said it yourself—it was a misunderstanding. Why can’t that be funny? The camera angle just now was really hilarious.”
Tong Yi: “…”
Forget it. It’s not like he could do anything to her.
She was his girlfriend. What else could he do except to spoil her?
He had a feeling: Jiang Xiao Li was definitely going to use that voice recording like a free pass, pulling stunts like today’s again and again, using her little games to amuse herself at his expense.
As Tong Yi left the living room again, Jiang Li patted her chest in relief. Good thing she reacted fast—otherwise, he really might’ve caught her red-handed.
She turned her attention back to the TV and continued watching the old movie they’d cast on screen. But then she realized the male lead wasn’t as handsome as Tong Yi, and his voice wasn’t as nice either. Worst of all, he pretended to be dead and made the female lead cry. What a scumbag!
Forget it. Watching a plotless romance movie like this was pointless. She might as well think about how to come clean to Grandpa and Uncle about her relationship with Tong Yi after going home tomorrow.
After a few seconds of thought, Jiang Li decided to test Feng Qi’s attitude. She picked up her phone and sent him a message: [Uncle, what do you think of Tong Yi?]
A minute later, she got his reply: [Not much.]
Jiang Li quickly typed back: [But you said before that he was pretty good—way better than Qin Zheng!]
Feng Qi replied almost instantly: [There are over a billion people in our country. Qin Zheng is just one of them. Saying Tong Yi’s better than him is hardly a compliment.]
Jiang Li: …
She knew her uncle was mad, but it still made her nervous!
In the end, she sent him a string of ellipses to express her tangled, complicated feelings.
At the Feng family’s house, Feng Qi stared at the chat and couldn’t stop the corners of his lips from lifting.
He had gone to Beijing to confront Tong Yi and had told him not to let Xiao Lizi know—but that had just been for show.
He’d known Tong Yi would definitely tell her everything. And he’d also known Xiao Lizi would pretend not to know, then spend the next two days in a state of inner conflict.
Sure enough, he’d been right. Xiao Lizi was definitely conflicted, and now she was sending messages to test his attitude. Clearly, she wanted to see how mad he really was.
Since that was the case, he might as well let her stew a bit longer.
That little liar—she had clearly promised to tell him before starting a relationship, so he could vet the guy. See if he was really worth her feelings.
But not only had she started dating in secret, she’d also kept it from him while Feng Bai knew the whole time.
Even Feng Bai knew, and he didn’t? That was just insulting.
So of course he had to punish her a little.
Girls were different from brats like Tong Yi. Even when punishing her, he had to be careful—not too harsh, or he might end up scaring her.
Feng Qi decided that letting Xiao Lizi agonize for a couple of days would be punishment enough.
But when he saw her send over that long string of ellipses, he suddenly started to waver. Was he being too harsh?
If she stayed this conflicted, wouldn’t it affect her studies?
