Extra 2 Part 1 – Overbearing CEO Third Master Feng (I)

Jiang Li didn’t know how long she had been unconscious. She only knew that the moment she opened her eyes, what entered her vision was a white ceiling above her.

“You’re awake? Do you feel any discomfort?”

The man’s voice was gentle and calm. Jiang Li followed the sound and saw a man in a black shirt sitting by her bedside, looking at her with concern.

In that instant, she remembered that just before she lost consciousness, this man had held her and said, “Xiao Lizi, I’m late.” But maybe the “Li” wasn’t her name at all; perhaps it was just a homophone for something else.

Seeing his niece staring blankly at him, Feng Qi reached out and tested her forehead with his hand, asking softly, “Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Jiang Li slowly shook her head and replied in a small voice, “I’m fine.”

Although her head was still a bit groggy, it seemed like just a side effect of the unconsciousness. It should pass soon.

She knew this man was showing concern because he had mistaken her for someone else, but when he tested her temperature with his palm, Jiang Li still found herself reluctant to let go of that feeling.

At the right moment, the third person in the room, a doctor in a white coat, spoke up: “According to the examination results, her body is generally fine. But she hasn’t been resting well lately, which has left her quite weak. And today, she received a fright. That’s likely why she suddenly passed out.”

Feng Qi smiled at Jiang Li. “Since your body’s weak, we’ll take good care of it with good food and rest. Once we’re home, I’ll have someone make snow pear stew with rock sugar for you.”

Looking at his warm smile, Jiang Li’s eyes instantly turned misty. Ever since leaving the orphanage, no one had cared for her like this.

But she knew… it was all because he had mistaken her for someone else that he was being so kind.

Jiang Li hesitated for a long time before finally mustering the courage to look at Feng Qi and softly say, “Did you… maybe you’re mistaking me for someone else? I’m not the ‘Xiao Lizi’ you were talking about.”

As she said this, she didn’t even dare to meet the man’s gaze, because once he knew the truth, he would leave without hesitation.

Feng Qi was pained by her timid evasion. “I didn’t mistake you for anyone. Your name is Jiang Li. You’re the biological daughter of Jiang Huai and Feng Yun. You grew up in Xingxing Orphanage, didn’t you?”

He had instructed Assistant Kong to look into everything about Xiao Lizi, but before the results came in, he couldn’t sit still.

On the way to the Jiang family’s home, he saw his niece standing blankly in the middle of the road, and a car suddenly sped toward her from a nearby corner.

While honking to warn her, he didn’t hesitate to accelerate and ram into the other car. Even so, she had still collided with the asphalt road.

Feng Qi knew he had been too late. Even if her injuries weren’t serious, the fact that he had been four years late meant she had turned into the person she was now.

Upon hearing Feng Qi’s words, Jiang Li’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You know who I am?”

Feng Qi nodded. “Yes. My name is Feng Qi. I’m your uncle from your maternal side. Just call me Third Uncle.”

Jiang Li: “…”

Uncle?

But she had never seen this man before, and no one in her family had ever mentioned that she had a maternal uncle.

Feng Qi knew she was doubtful, so he took out his phone, opened the front-facing camera, and held the screen up to her face, speaking softly: “Take a look yourself. Don’t we look alike?”

As soon as Feng Qi said this, the doctor next to them gave a surprised “Hmm?” and then laughed. “You two really do have similar eyes and noses. Definitely from the same family. But your vibes are completely different. If you hadn’t pointed it out, I wouldn’t have noticed.”

Hearing this, Feng Qi’s expression darkened. In another world, anyone who saw Xiao Lizi would immediately notice how much she resembled him.

Not just in appearance—her personality and mannerisms were also similar. The moment others saw her, they would naturally think of him.

But this Xiao Lizi in front of him had lived in the Jiang household for four years. Her edges had been gradually worn away until she became who she is now.

The doctor didn’t notice Feng Qi’s change in mood and teased with a smile, “This child really does look like you. Since you’re not planning to get married, why not just raise her as your daughter?”

Jiang Li looked at herself on the phone screen, then glanced at the man in front of her. She realized there truly was some resemblance in their features.

She looked at Feng Qi cautiously. “You… really are my uncle?”

Feng Qi reached out and gently ruffled her hair. “I really am your uncle. I’ve come to take you home. With me here, no one will be able to bully you.”

The sudden affectionate gesture caught Jiang Li slightly off guard, but she didn’t resist. She even felt like she was dreaming.

She didn’t reach out to pinch herself. In this moment, there was only one thought in her mind: if this really was a dream, she hoped it would last a little longer.

To completely dispel her doubt, Feng Qi picked up his phone and dialed a number. After the call connected, Jiang Li heard her mother’s voice from the other end.

“A’Qi… do you need something?” Feng Yun’s voice sounded especially cautious.

Feng Qi let out a cold chuckle. “Xiao Lizi is with me. From today on, she has nothing to do with your Jiang family. If you people want to lay a hand on her again, you’ll have to go through me first.”

With that, Feng Qi hung up without hesitation, then looked at Jiang Li with a smile. “Now do you believe I’m your uncle?”

Jiang Li nodded slowly, her voice barely audible. “I… I never doubted you.”

She just couldn’t believe she could be this lucky.

“Relax, your third uncle’s taking you home,” Feng Qi said.

Jiang Li’s body was in good condition, so she could be discharged at any time. But after Feng Qi took her out of the hospital, he didn’t bring her back to the Feng family’s house. That was because no one at home knew about her existence yet, and suddenly bringing her back would seem too rushed.

That night, he drove Jiang Li to his residence at the research institute. Pointing to the room next to his bedroom, he said, “From now on, this will be your room.”

Jiang Li pushed open the door and saw several bookshelves inside, all filled with medical texts.

Is Third Uncle also a doctor?

He probably was. He seemed quite familiar with that doctor at the hospital—it was very likely they were colleagues.

At the moment he saw the room’s layout clearly, a flicker of awkwardness crossed Feng Qi’s face. He had just remembered that this room had been remodeled into a bedroom only after Xiao Lizi had returned home.

“I’ll have someone tidy this room. If you come with me to the research institute in the future, you can stay here.”

Jiang Li didn’t know where this “research institute” he spoke of was, but she still nodded. “Okay.”

Feng Qi had already noticed that whenever his niece spoke to him, she habitually lowered her head. Probably because of this long-standing habit, her back had developed a slight hunch, which had completely changed her overall bearing.

Feng Qi knew this was something ingrained over time, and not something that could be corrected quickly, so he didn’t point it out.

What he needed to do now was help her rebuild her self-confidence. Only then could she truly hold her head high and stand tall.

“Tonight, you’ll sleep in my room. I’ll take the sofa outside. If you need anything, just call me,” Feng Qi said.

Jiang Li immediately shook her head and softly objected, “I can sleep on the sofa.”

Feng Qi chuckled. “What uncle would allow that?”

Jiang Li: “…”

She didn’t quite understand what he meant by that. But over the past few years, she had grown used to being told what to do, so she couldn’t bring herself to say no.

Besides, her uncle was treating her so well—how could she possibly reject him?

After Jiang Li returned to the bedroom, Feng Qi immediately dialed his assistant. Unlike with Jiang Li, his voice was icy cold: “From now on, strike Jiang Huai’s company with full force. I don’t just want him bankrupt. Let him drown in debt!”

Assistant Kong was shocked. “Third Master, this is…”

Feng Qi didn’t explain, instead continuing: “Also, find someone to collect samples from Jiang Huai and Jiang Ruo. After the DNA test is done, bring me the results.”

Assistant Kong asked in surprise, “You mean…”

He didn’t finish the sentence. Earlier today, Feng Qi had urgently told him to look into the Jiang family’s adopted daughter. He had quickly gathered the information about the girl’s recent circumstances and sent it to him.

As for her time at the orphanage, he’d also arranged for someone to investigate, but the results hadn’t come in yet.

But before he could even send over the compiled report, Feng Qi had already driven to the Jiang household himself. On the way, he’d purposely crashed into a car to save that adopted daughter, and then personally took her to the hospital, instructing Assistant Kong to handle the accident scene.

If someone said this girl had nothing to do with Feng Qi, Assistant Kong wouldn’t believe it for a second.

Jiang Ruo was supposed to be Jiang Huai and Feng Yun’s daughter. And yet, Feng Qi was suddenly asking for a DNA test between Jiang Huai and Jiang Ruo.

Could it be… Jiang Ruo was Jiang Huai’s daughter, but not the daughter of Feng Yun?

Was she Jiang Huai’s illegitimate child?

If Jiang Ruo really was his illegitimate daughter, then the true identity of the Jiang family’s adopted daughter was already becoming clear.

But if she truly was the biological daughter of Jiang Huai and Feng Yun, why didn’t the Jiang family acknowledge her—and why did they force her to donate a kidney to Jiang Ruo?

Assistant Kong couldn’t make sense of it at all.

Feng Qi, knowing that his assistant had already guessed something, so he simply said: “Xiao Lizi is my biological niece.”

Assistant Kong: “…”

Alright, then. Jiang Huai deserved to go bankrupt. He also deserved to be drowning in debt.

“The person who almost hit Miss Jiang Li today was Bai Qiming’s son—Jiang Huai’s personal assistant. Third Master, what to do?” Assistant Kong immediately changed how he referred to Jiang Li.

Feng Qi’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Is the investigation complete?”

Assistant Kong replied helplessly, “The cause of the accident… was that Miss Jiang Li jaywalking. We have no grounds to pursue criminal charges against him.”

Feng Qi sneered coldly. “We don’t need evidence. After Jiang Huai goes bankrupt, keep an eye on Bai Guolin and Jiang Zhou.”

After hanging up the call, Feng Qi finally noticed Xiao Lizi standing in the living room, holding a thin quilt in her arms. “Don’t want to sleep in my bedroom?”

Jiang Li immediately shook her head and quietly explained, “There was no quilt on the sofa, so I… brought one out for Third Uncle.”

Suddenly gaining a relative like this, Jiang Li still wasn’t used to it. But she knew the person in front of her shared her blood. Her Third Uncle.

After delivering the quilt, Jiang Li returned to the bedroom and sat on the bed in a daze.

Too much had happened today. She had many questions in her heart, but no courage to ask them.
