Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1221: Request

Chapter 1221: Request

On the second stage, another disciple stepped forward.

His name was Eryn, tall and broad-shouldered, and he looked quite calm. Unlike Glen's sharp wolfish aura, Eryn felt like he was older due to his slow manner of speaking and simply how calm he was.

"Five of you… Come forth."

Five students obeyed, each transforming in turn.

The first became a Crimson Tiger, his body rippling with muscle, stripes glowing faintly with elemental fire.

The second shifted into a Scaled Crocodile, his jaw lengthening, armored hide showing on his skin, but the hide wasn't in full transformation.

The third took on the form of a Silver Stag, antlers branching elegantly… It may look weak, but it was filled with agility stat.

The fourth transformed into a Duskwing Bat with his wings stretching wide and, of course, it had sonic-based abilities, which he hoped would be effective against the disciple…

Then, the last assumed the form of a Molten Ape, his skin cracked with glowing fissures, steam rising from his body with every breath. It was a transformation of a Unique Beast in the Beast Realm.

The crowd murmured in awe. These were strong forms, each carrying unique advantages.

But Eryn only closed his eyes. His aura surged, and his body began to change.

His skin hardened, and soon bark started spreading across his arms and chest. His legs rooted into the ground, thickening into trunk-like limbs.

Finally, branches sprouted from his shoulders with leaves unfurling naturally. Of course, his face had changed, and his eyes glowed green…

He had taken the form of a Treant, a transformation rarely seen among students. It was a form that had a huge backlash after all.

If this wasn't mastered properly, there were cases where the Practitioner would have some skin disease that would turn their skin into bark…

Still, once it was mastered, it would be like a living fortress that combined defense, control, and crushing strength.

The five students hesitated.

The Treant would certainly not be the agility-type opponent, so it would just stay still in its position. However, its defense would also be incredible…

"Come," Eryn said. "Show me your ferocity."

The students exchanged glances before coming to an agreement.

Soon, the Crimson Tiger roared and leapt first… However, Eryn's branch‑arm swung in a wide arc, catching the tiger mid-air. The impact sent him sprawling across the arena floor.

Thud!

"Speed without grounding is wasted," Eryn said, "A predator must know when to leap, and when to wait."

The Crocodile attacked next with its jaws snapping. Eryn's roots burst from the ground, coiling around the reptilian body, pinning it in place. He pressed down with a branch, forcing the Crocodile to struggle helplessly.

"You should also learn to use the ground as your ally."

The Silver Stag charged and its antlers were glowing with Arcane Energy.

But Eryn bent low, his bark-covered body absorbing the impact. Then, with a twist, he caught the stag's antlers in his branch‑hands and forced the student to kneel.

"This Stag is weird… Try learning another Beast Form."

This was probably the most hurtful comment, as the others listened as well. However, they dared not question the expert's comment for now since he might be seeing something that they couldn't.

At the same time, the Duskwing Bat swooped overhead... Eryn's branches extended upward, weaving into a net of leaves and wood.

The bat released a sonic wave!

Screech!

But before it could last more than five seconds, he was caught in the air… He was immediately tangled, unable to escape.

"You should learn a better stealth ability. You're too easy to catch. You have no defense at all."

Finally, the Molten Ape bellowed, fists glowing with heat. He charged, striking Eryn's bark with fiery blows. For a moment, steam hissed, bark cracking. But Eryndor's roots surged again, wrapping around the ape's legs, dragging him down. Then, with a single crushing motion, he pressed the ape into the ground.

"Power without discipline burns itself out. Fire must be tempered, or it consumes its wielder."

The five students lay panting, their transformations battered, but they were still not giving up. Eryn just released them to let them attack again.

"Remember," he said, his voice echoing. "Transformation is not only about becoming something else. It is about balance. The beast gives you strength, but you must give it wisdom. Without harmony, you are nothing but wild flesh."

The crowd was silent, awed.

Even Denise leaned forward, her eyes narrowing in thought. The lesson was clear… the Asura disciples were not merely fighters. They were great teachers embodying a philosophy of transformation.

After more than half an hour, it was finally another team's turn.

Professor Paterson's voice rang out.

He called for Amaya, Vin, Brannic, and two other students…

"Professor… We want to be taught by Sir Eryn with his treant."

Professor Paterson raised a brow at the interruption. It was rare for students to request which disciple they wanted to face. Normally, they accepted whatever stage was assigned. But they were all resolute with this request.

"You want Eryn?" Paterson asked, his tone carrying both surprise and curiosity.

"Yes," Amaya said firmly. "We want to fight the Treant. It's a rare transformation, so we wanted to try it."

The others were confused, but they didn't question their decision.

Paterson's gaze shifted toward the third stage, where Kaelith stood.

Kaelith had taken on a Serpent Asura Form earlier. His body was slender, his limbs elongated, four arms tipped with claws.

He was venomous and cunning. He had dismantled his opponents easily, but certainly, this Serpent form wasn't exactly unique, and many others had similar forms.

Furthermore, the venomous ability of the Serpent made the students who fought him leave the stage shaken.

His philosophy was not one of balance, unlike Glen and Eryn, but of dominance through cunning.

"The others were also skilled, but we really want to fight against the Treant, Professor," Vin said.

Professor Patterson, seeing how resolute they were, could only agree.
