Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1254: Sabrina’s Secrets

Chapter 1254: Sabrina’s Secrets

Sabrina did not answer immediately. Vale’s question may sound simple, but it would reveal a lot of things about her...

"How did I get here?" she repeated softly, as she considered her answer.

Vale was not asking about the shadow spell she had used to slip past his detection, nor the way she had cloaked her presence to appear beside him in this shuttered coffee shop...

What he wanted to know was how she had crossed realms, how she had left the Shadow Realm and arrived here, in the human realm.

Of course, she could not reveal the truth. She could not admit that she had traced his movements, even though Vale had been protected by Shadowlord Kilo, Sky Immortal Kaela’s father, and the Note City Lord. Even with all the barriers and concealment arrays they used, she had used a forbidden technique, one that allowed her to sense the faint ripples of Vale’s disappearance from the Shadow Realm.

She had followed those traces, recording every fragment of his dimensional travel.

Now that she recalled it, it was actually reckless and dangerous. It was something she could never confess aloud.

’That was really risky... I could be arriving in an unknown realm at that time...’ She mused.

Vale was from the human realm, and she didn’t know that for sure at first...

And when he crossed dimensions, he left behind threads of energy that only someone like her could perceive.

But if she admitted that she had tracked him, Vale would know she had violated boundaries.

He would know she had pierced protections meant to keep even Immortals at bay.

That was not something she would want to admit...

So Sabrina smiled faintly and replied.

"You know... I have a family here. The Hoffman Family. That’s why I knew this place."

It was half‑truth and half‑lie. She only knew that her family came from another realm. She had not been certain if the Hoffman bloodline was tied to this one.

She had no way of traveling freely between dimensions, no knowledge of the coordinates of the human realm. It was only after arriving here that she confirmed the Hoffman Family was indeed from this world.

But by then, the clan was already on the verge of destruction.

To revive them, she had taken drastic measures. She had seized the throne, replacing the previous queen, and declared herself ruler of the Luminara Kingdom.

It was not just ambition, it was survival, a way to restore her family’s legacy before it was erased completely.

Perhaps, she didn’t have to do this, but for some reason, she couldn’t just watch the Hoffman Family decline so much...

Vale studied her carefully.

He was unsure whether she was telling the truth or not... However, he still knew that she was at least hiding something.

Before he could press further, she changed the topic.

Her voice softened, almost casual.

"Tell me, Vale... your disciples. How are they faring?"

Vale then turned his attention to his drink and smiled.

He knew the shift of the topic was intentional, but he allowed it.

"They are strong. Stronger than most mortals realize. The competition has revealed much. Some of them are ready for greater trials."

Sabrina tilted her head, and curiously asked...

"You speak of them as if they are more than students. Do you see them as heirs to your path?"

Vale raised his brow as he certainly considered that...

"Maybe... But not all are suited for the burdens of an Immortal’s shadow. They can always choose their own path."

Sabrina’s fingers traced the rim of her cup, though she did not drink.

"And yet you guide them... I hope they become Immortals too."

Vale’s eyes turned toward the window, where the serpent’s roar still echoed faintly.

"If you will let those Evil Entities continue causing havoc, then they might not live that long... Are you not going to deal with this?"

Sabrina studied him in silence, before giving a reply. "I’m still searching for the mastermind... Don’t worry."

She had seen other Immortals in the Shadow Realm abandon their disciples without thought. They were the ones who treated mortals as pawns.

However, she could tell that Vale was different.

The two then continued talking about random things related to the current state of the Arcane Arts, the presence of the Chaos Immortals, the problem that the Void Immortals would bring, and many others.

Outside, the serpent roared again, and the city trembled.

But inside the coffee shop, two figures were just sitting across from one another, like there was no incident happening outside...

***

Soon, the serpent’s massive body started destroying the streets...

For a moment, it seemed the combined efforts of the Orders and academies were enough.

The wolf‑like beasts were bound in cursed chains, the winged creatures were then sealed by sanctified light, and the serpent itself slowed by elemental storms and rune arts...

But then, the ground trembled again.

From the void, more Evil Entities poured forth!

They were larger and more vicious!

At this point, the defenders started showing signs of weakening...

Students who had rushed forward to aid their academies now found themselves overwhelmed. Their spells barely worked against the tide, and their formations were broken by sheer numbers of Evil Entities!

Soon, screams echoed as young Arcanists were dragged into the shadows.

Vale’s eyes narrowed. He had expected distractions, but this was different.

The summoners were getting serious now, and the city was drowning in corruption.

Inside the coffee shop, Sabrina sighed.

She had listened to Vale, had entertained the quiet conversation about disciples and Immortals, but the chaos outside could no longer be ignored.

She rose from her seat and fixed her cloak...

"I suppose this is where our talk ends," she said softly. Her gaze lingered on Vale for a moment, and she nodded.

"Goodbye, Vale. I hope we meet again."

Vale did not move, only watched her with that faint smile of his.

Just like that, Sabrina turned and stepped into the night...

The moment she had her fourth step, shadows moved outward, swallowing the light around her...

At that moment, she appeared in front of the culprit who had been summoning the Evil Entities!

The moment she saw the man, she realized that this matter wasn’t as simple as it seemed...

"Hmm? Mortal, I smell traces of a Void Immortal from your body. No wonder...."
