Chapter 1300: Anti-Vampire
Chapter 1300: Anti-Vampire
The old Dwarf gave Mordred an amused look.
“All of them.”
He turned toward the other Dwarves and raised one hand.
“Prepare the weapons.”
The response was immediate.
Several Dwarves entered the armory while others activated the formations surrounding the storage chambers. Within minutes, the atmosphere inside the enormous room became filled with the sounds of metal moving against metal.
Arthur watched silently as the Dwarves worked.
There was no ceremony or any long explanation.
They simply selected what they needed.
A short while later, several Dwarves emerged from the armory, pushing a massive reinforced crate.
It was large enough to require four Dwarves to move it, and countless runes covered its metallic surface. Even through the sealed container, Arthur could feel a faint pressure radiating from within.
Mordred stared at it.
“That’s all?”
The old Dwarf nodded.
“For now.”
Mordred looked slightly disappointed.
The Dwarf immediately noticed.
“You were expecting us to empty the entire armory?”
“I thought you said the Vampires were dangerous.”
“They are.”
“Then shouldn’t we take more?”
The old Dwarf laughed.
“You humans always want more weapons.”
He tapped the side of the crate.
“What’s inside is enough to equip your strongest knights. Giving you more would only make it harder for them to learn how to use the weapons properly.”
Arthur nodded.
“He’s right.”
Mordred looked at the crate again.
“How strong will they become?”
The old Dwarf’s smile faded.
“Strong enough to kill ordinary Vampires.”
He paused.
“And strong enough to survive against something considerably worse.”
“That is enough.” Arthur nodded as he found these weapons quite reliable.
“Then take them.” The old dwarf said…
Arthur stepped forward and placed his hand against the crate.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me yet.” The Dwarf snorted.
“If this truly is the beginning of another Vampire outbreak, you may need to come back.”
Mordred frowned.
“Why?”
The old Dwarf looked toward him.
“Because fifty weapons won’t protect an entire continent.”
His words immediately silenced the two knights.
Arthur understood what he meant.
The Guardians weren’t preparing for a single battle… They were preparing for a possible war.
“We’ll return if necessary,” Arthur said.
The old Dwarf nodded.
“Good.”
He turned toward the entrance.
“Now get out of here. We have work to do.”
Mordred couldn’t help but smile.
“You don’t want us staying?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because humans are noisy.”
Mordred laughed.
Arthur was about to follow the others when he suddenly stopped. “Actually, I almost forgot something.”
The old Dwarf glanced over his shoulder. “What?”
Arthur reached into his storage ring and pulled out a small wooden barrel. The moment it appeared, the old Dwarf’s eyes widened, and several of the Dwarves nearby immediately stopped what they were doing.
Mordred looked at Arthur in confusion. “You brought that all the way here?”
Arthur nodded. “A gift from His Majesty.”
The old Dwarf slowly approached the barrel. “What is it?”
“Royal Blackfire.”
The Dwarf’s expression changed instantly.
Even the Dwarves who had been working around the chamber began looking toward them. A few whispered among themselves as they recognized the name.
Mordred glanced between them. “What is Royal Blackfire?”
Arthur smiled faintly. “A special liquor brewed exclusively for the royal family. It’s made from several rare ingredients and aged for fifty years.”
The old Dwarf stared at the barrel.
“Fifty years?”
“Yes. His Majesty thought the Guardians might appreciate it.”
For several seconds, the Dwarf remained silent.
Then he suddenly grabbed the barrel with both hands.
“That King isn’t completely useless after all.”
Several Dwarves immediately gathered around the old Dwarf, their curiosity completely overpowering their earlier discipline.
“Is that really Royal Blackfire?”
“Fifty years old?”
“Open it!”
“Wait, we need cups!”
The old Dwarf immediately turned toward them and shouted, “Get back to work!”

Soon, the group began their journey back through the underground city.
This time, Mordred paid even closer attention to his surroundings.
He saw Dwarves carrying weapons that looked powerful enough to destroy entire buildings. Others were activating ancient formations while teams of armored warriors gathered around massive machines.
Something had changed…
The Guardians were preparing.
And although nobody said it aloud, Mordred understood that their arrival had awakened something that had remained dormant for a very long time.
Eventually, they reached the massive entrance where they had first entered the underground kingdom.
The old Dwarf stopped beside the gate.
“Before you leave.”
Arthur turned around.
The Dwarf reached into his armor and tossed something toward him.
Arthur caught it.
It was a small metallic device covered in runes.
“What’s this?”
“A communication token.”
Arthur examined it.
“If you activate it, one of our messengers will receive the signal. So we can contact you.”
The Dwarf then pointed toward the crate.
“And if you encounter a Vampire Lord, activate it before you fight.”
Arthur nodded.
“I understand.”
The old Dwarf’s expression became serious.
“Don’t be arrogant, Arthur. You have Excalibur. Your knights can use Will. That makes you stronger than most humans… But Vampires have survived for thousands of years.”
Arthur’s eyes narrowed.
“I won’t underestimate them.”
“Good.”
The massive gate opened.
Arthur, Mordred, and the Dwarves carrying the weapon crate finally stepped outside.
The moment they crossed the threshold, the gate began closing behind them.
Mordred looked back one last time.
The old Dwarf was still standing there.
“Take care, humans.”
Arthur nodded.
“You too.”
The enormous gate disappeared behind the illusion of the forest.
Within moments, there was nothing left but trees.
Mordred looked around and it was difficult to believe that an entire underground civilization existed beneath their feet.
Arthur, however, had already mounted his horse.
“We should return.”
Just like that, they immediately began traveling back toward the capital.
The journey took several hours.
By the time they reached the outskirts of Davai Kingdom, the sun had already risen.
However, Arthur soon noticed that the king had already prepared their elite squad.
A large group of knights was waiting for them outside the city.
More than fifty knights stood in formation.
Every one of them wore elite armor.
They were not ordinary members of the Order of the Sky Sword.
These were some of the strongest knights personally selected by the king…
At the front of the group stood several senior knights, including Roland.
The moment he saw Arthur approaching, Roland stepped forward.
“Commander.”
Arthur dismounted.
“Everything is ready?”
Roland nodded.
“Yes. The fifty-five knights you requested have been gathered.”
His eyes then moved toward the massive crate.
“What did the Guardians give us?”
Arthur looked at the container.
“Anti-Vampire weapons…”
