Chapter 1960: A Warning
Chapter 1960: A Warning
Ira briefed Tang Shaoyang on what to expect for the mission while handing him the names and the teams that would join him for the special mission. He was surprised to find out that more than five hundred administrators were joining him for the mission.
Tang Shaoyang raised his hand, "Are you sure the number is right?" he stopped Ira and asked her.
Ira smiled, "The number is not wrong."
"They know that we are going to the Skywound Realm, right?" He made sure that Clementine and Arion did not play a trick by covering their destination.
"Everyone knows and everyone is talking about this mission right now. If not for Executive Administrator Clementine and Arion screening the participants, we might have more than two thousand administrators joining the mission. But unlike my captain, Lady Clementine and Sir Arion make sure they are strong enough to join the mission."
Ira did not add the last reason why most of the administrators were curious about the new Executive Administrator. The rumor about the new Executive Administrator who replaced Palmas was spread like wildfire. People were curious and many of them wanted to foster a good relationship with the new Executive Administrator. She did not tell him, afraid that her captain would change with the newfound fame even though she knew her captain was not that kind of person.
Tang Shaoyang the names once more and furrowed his brow. He did not like it with too many participants. He expected dozens of administrators or maybe a little more than one hundred administrators.
"This is still too many. Can we reduce the number?"
Everyone in the room: Ira, Anne, Khaya, and the others stared at their captain as if he was a lunatic. They thought five hundred and thirty-eight administrators were still too little to clear out the Skywound Realm. In fact, they did not understand why Executive Administrator Arion and Clementine tried to screen the participant. However, they seemed to have a clue why Arion and Clementine reduced the number of participants. It might be because of their captain.
"Nope. The number is fixed, and you can’t remove them unless you have an acceptable reason or they back out from the mission..." Ira paused as she realized something. She unconsciously told her captain the way to reduce the number of participants.
Tang Shaoyang nodded his head without saying anything further, and that worried Ira and the others. It looked like their captain had something in his mind, maybe a plan to reduce those numbers.
"Can you tell me why you want to reduce the number?" Ira was curious why her captain wanted to reduce the number. Her captain should already know the risk of the Skywound Realm. She felt like the more people participate the better.
"The bodies, all the bodies are mine, having more people participate would expose my ability as well."
Her captain did not say anything about the danger of the Skywound Realm. From her captain’s tone, she could tell that he was confident in clearing the Skywound Realm. It was as if he could go alone, he might go by himself.
"If not for Clementine and Arion being a busybody. I would rather go there myself."
Her captain added as if confirming her guess. Someone she just forgot how crazy her captain was, but she could not say anything in return this time. Not even trying to discourage and persuade her captain to take more people with them. Her captain had done the impossible in her eyes with ease. Maybe he could really clear the Skywound Realm by himself.
"Then those two busy bodies forced me to create this stupid mission. I don’t have time to babysit you guys because I am busy with my own things." Her captain ended his words with a complaint.
It sounded uncaring, but Tang Shaoyang was being honest. The reason he chose Skywound Realm was because of his personal business, and now it has become something bigger with bigger responsibility on his shoulders.
Ira did not take his words seriously, especially for the last part and so did the others as well. Their time together was not long, but they had experienced what kind of captain Tang Shaoyang was. He was willing to divulge her ability just to keep their survivability for the last mission.
One hour passed quickly, and they moved to the hall where the administrators for the mission gathered. It was a big hall that fit more than five hundred people. Ira was closely tailed Tang Shaoyang behind, urging him to give a good speech and uphold his image as an Executive Administrator.
The last part was not from her but from Executive Administrator Clementine and Arion. Both asked her to remind Tang Shaoyang about the image of the Executive Administrator and so on.
The hall quieted down as the attention was on Tang Shaoyang who just entered the hall through the back door. Clementine and Arion were already in the hall as Team Reds entered the hall. Tang Shaoyang went to the platform because Ira told him to give a speech before leaving for the mission. That was kind of a tradition for a mission that was led by an Executive Administrator.
Tang Shaoyang faced the crowd with an impassive look, scanning the room, "I don’t prepare any speech, but I do have a reminder, or maybe a warning is the right word."
Ira’s eyes widened when she heard that part. Clementine and Arion exchanged glances with a defeated look before shaking their heads helplessly.
"The reason I picked the Skywound Realm is because of my personal business, not to train weaklings. If you decide to participate, you have to be responsible for your own safety because I am not going to babysit you all. I have my own problem, or maybe Clementine and Arion will babysit you. Your safety is not my concern."
The hall went dead silent after hearing the statement. Most of them could not believe they would hear this from an Executive Administrator’s mouth.
"If you are not confident in your own strength and change your mind about participating in the mission, you still have time to back out now."
Ira massaged the space between her eyes. It was she who told Tang Shaoyang how to reduce the number of participants, making the mission participants back down from the mission. When the one in charge of the mission made such a statement, she believed that more than half would back out from the mission.
To Ira’s surprise, no one left the room and no one said anything about it either. Not just her, even Tang Shaoyang was surprised. He waited for a while, a few minutes, but no one said anything or backed out from the mission. Then he recalled what Ira told him about Arion and Clementine who screened the participant.
These two might figure out that he would try to do something like this and choose the crazy administrators who were not afraid of dying. They were one step ahead of him. Or maybe because he called them weaklings these people stayed just to prove to him that they were not weaklings. Regardless of the reason, no one backed down from the mission.
"I guess I am not the only one who is crazy here," Tang Shaoyang let out a chuckle, then he turned toward Arion and Clementine, "Do you have something to add?"
Clementine shrugged, and Arion shook his head, indicating they had nothing to add.
"Alright then, let’s depart for the mission. My last message... Good luck," Tang Shaoyang grinned, "Teleport us for the mission, Adam!"
