Chapter 1961: Landing on the Skywound Realm (1)
Tang Shaoyang’s vision blacked out for a moment as they departed to the Skywound Realm. Once his vision returned, he was standing in an open clearing area. His Chaos Eyes opened up to check the surroundings and found he was inside an old fort. The grayed wall, the half-broken gate, many buildings with holes on the roofs, and the decayed wood in those buildings were obvious signs of an abandoned fort.
The surprise came from the people inside the fort. He got a quick look, and it seemed like everyone was teleported to this fort with him. Arion and Clementine were standing not far in front of him, and his team was behind him. The remaining participants were standing behind Clementine and Arion, looking around curiously.
"This is different from the previous mission..."
Tang Shaoyang muttered as he recalled that they were divided into several groups and forts as a base.
"It’s because this is the Skywound Realm. We don’t want to take the risk of splitting up, so we choose to pick a strategic fort to be our base. You don’t need to worry about the fort’s condition because we will rebuild the fort within half an hour."
Clementine overheard Tang Shaoyang and explained as she came over.
"The Skywound Realm is different from most abandoned worlds. Let’s not take the risk even though the three of us are here."
Tang Shaoyang massaged his forehead. The frustration slowly took over him with all these rules and conditions, even though he had not asked these people to come with him. He did his best not to say anything, and Clementine could tell the frustration. She did not expect that Tang Shaoyang would not bother to cover how much he disliked the company.
Clementine glanced toward Arion, asking her old friend to appease Tang Shaoyang. She thought Arion might have his way for Tang Shaoyang, but Arion shrugged with a face of "I told you so."
"Whatever, you are in charge of these people. I was not joking when I said I was not going to be responsible for these people’s safety. Since they decided to come here, then they must know the risks. Of course, I don’t mind helping them if they are close to me, but again, I will not make a run if they are far away from me."
Clementine did not like what she heard. Tang Shaoyang openly said all of these were not good. He would set a bad example for the lower-ranked administrator as an Executive Administrator. She started to question her decision of appointing Tang Shaoyang as an Executive Administrator this early.
Arion pulled Clementine’s hand, shaking his head when Clementine was about to say something. Arion knew too well not to continue the conversation. He knew how stubborn Tang Shaoyang was and pursuing the matter further would only make things worse.
Tang Shaoyang turned around and signaled his team to follow him. He picked one of the abandoned buildings and brought his team in. He needed a conversation with his team, the plan for this special mission, a measure to keep his team safe.
"Let him be. You will make the situation worse if you keep pressuring him to do something he doesn’t want to. He might be a stubborn fellow, but he would still come to help if our people are in danger. But if you keep pressuring him, he would truly not help out of spite. Just give him some time to cool down," Arion released his grip on Clementine before turning around, and briefing the people.
The participants dispersed and scouted the abandoned fort under Arion’s order, ensuring the fort was safe to use. It would be silly if they lost people for being careless on their own base. They did not know how much the calamity in this place had evolved since their last visit, so being extra careful was a must.
"I just didn’t expect that kind of attitude from him. He is an Emperor, he is responsible for millions of people. How can he be indifferent to people’s lives," Clementine muttered while her eyes remained on the building where Tang Shaoyang’s team was.
"I understand you, but there are a lot of factors that might piss him off. You should know his people would not defy him if he said he wanted to visit a dangerous place like this by himself. Yet here we are forcing him to bring people to this place and must take responsibility for their safety as well."
"Or maybe he doesn’t take all administrators as his own people yet even though he is an Executive Administrator. As you can see, he still cares for his people, but just not all administrators. We can’t blame him or force him considering his bad history with the administrator and Executive Administrator before he took his position as Executive Administrator."
It started to make sense when Clementine saw the situation from a different perspective. Tang Shaoyang had it rough during the Trial of God. Then there was an Executive Administrator who also tried to kill him. Then there was also a problem with another team of administrators in the last mission that almost involved the Hurakan Kingdom.
On top of all the bad histories with the other administrators, Tang Shaoyang also had an issue with the outside factions. The factions in the God Realm knew that the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order would not stop until they achieved their goals. The war between Tang Shaoyang’s faction and them was paused because of the System’s punishment. Once the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order served their punishment, they would continue hunting down Tang Shaoyang.
"Maybe we are just a bother to him," Clementine muttered in a low voice.
"Or you can help him, Clementine. It will quicken the process. He will quickly accept his responsibility as an Executive Administrator if you show that you also care for him," Arion smiled, "It will be easy for him to destroy the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order with your help."
Clementine let out a chuckle, "If my clan is involved in this matter, the others will not stay still. It will create a bigger chaos, and you know that, Arion."
She turned toward Arion, squinting her eyes. Arion should know better how sensitive her clan was in the God Realm. A single movement from her clan would bring chaos to the God Realm, but then she realized what Arion was trying to do.
"Ah, I see. You are thinking for yourself, not because you care about him. One thing for certain, you will benefit from this chaos. Are you trying to sell your cursed creatures again?"
Arion smiled in response, not denying or acknowledging Clementine.
