Chapter 1985: Interesting Rumors

Chapter 1985: Interesting Rumors

Azhug snapped out and made a pause sign while raising his voice, still with his gruff, high-pitched voice, "Time out! Time out! Time out!"

The Ogre stood out and beckoned his hand toward Liora, "Can we talk outside, Liora?"

Liora was confused as to why Azhug wanted to talk with her without their boss’s presence and why her? She had been working with Azhug for years, but Mead had worked longer with Azhug than she had. If there was something that needed a discussion, Azhug would talk to the Fae, not her.

Tang Shaoyang did not find this weird. In his mind, Azhug just wanted to have a deeper conversation with his team about how to distribute the resources. He watched as Liora followed Azhug. Mead and Lavender also excused him, following the Ogre outside.

Azhug brought his team to the Medical Hub, but Elnar drove them away, "Don’t talk here, go somewhere else! You will be disturbing their rest!" The Troll was firm with his tone, leaving no discussion.

"Don’t you want to join us?" The Druid asked with a confused tone.

"No! I know what you want to talk about. You will take care of the complicated things for me, and I will do my job as a Beast Spirit Physician as always."

Azhug felt like he must bring Elnar with him to know more about their employment situation, but then he could take care of that matter later. He brought the trio further from the Management Center, afraid his new boss could overhear their discussion.

After ensuring they were far enough from the Management Center, the Ogre turned toward Liora, "Do you know something we don’t know about our new boss, Liora?"

Mead and Lavender turned toward the cat-folk. They were surprised by Azhug’s question. However, Liora was confused by the question as well, furrowing her brow as he met with Azhug’s eyes.

"What are you talking about?"

"Do you know him personally? You didn’t seem surprised when our boss said that we could use 20 million Energy per day. As if you are already expecting to hear such a number..." Azhug explained his thought process, and it made sense to Mead and Lavender if that was the case.

"You introduce us to the job without discussing anything with us. This is the first time I met him," Liora rolled her eyes, but she understood why Azhug had such a thought about her, "I believe we have heard his name once or twice before, too."

Azhug recalled their introduction as well as the name on the contract. He frowned because the name had a weird pronunciation and was also uncommon.

"After hearing it from you, I also felt familiar with the name," Mead muttered her new boss’ name a few times, and she also felt familiar with the name. She heard the name for sure, but she could not recall where or when.

"The new Executive Administrator, Tang Shaoyang," Liora let out a chuckle, "How about that, does that ring a bell to you?"

Azhug, Mead, and Lavender had similar reactions. Their eyes widened in shock as realization slowly sank in why the name sounded familiar. It was the name that shook the God Realm a few months ago, a new Executive Administrator after a few hundred years.

Tang Shaoyang became a mystery because little information was available about its origin. They knew about the Tang Empire, the faction he led. Aside from that, there was nothing else that spread to the public. No one mentioned his origin, but of course, there were a lot of rumors about the man, rumors that could not be trusted.

"Why didn’t you tell me?" Azhug massaged the space between his eyes as he recalled his first encounter with Tang Shaoyang. He made a demand to an Executive Administrator, a ridiculous demand, and now he felt like he had deceived Tang Shaoyang with their temporary contract as well.

Liora shrugged, "You are the one who introduced us to the job without discussing anything with us. You should be glad that we all trust you to join this new World of Beast Spirit. I thought you knew who he was, and if anything, you should be the first one to find out about our new boss."

Everything made sense to Azhug now. His new boss had a terrifying aura that indicated how strong his new boss was; his new boss was also very rich for casually throwing two billion to start this venture, and an absurd amount of energy per day. Everything clicked in his head.

"Does Elnar know about our new boss as well?"

The Troll mentioned that he knew what they wanted to talk about. That might be because Elnar already knew about their new boss’s identity.

"Yes. Elnar told one of his classes about our new boss after signing the contract, and in return, our boss also told him one of his classes, which was the Administrator and also his Administrator rank..." Liora recounted what happened between their boss and Elnar.

"That’s Elnar," Mead nodded with a chuckle before turning toward Azhug, "and you didn’t know about our boss’ identity before accepting the job?"

Azhug shook his head, "After what happened to Master Berils, a lot of Shepherds refused to take us. So I think our best chance is to take a job from the new Shepherd. You should know that a new Shepherd usually doesn’t hire anyone because they have just started, and I accidentally found the hiring post for a new menagerie. Here we are now."

"So what do you want to do now?" Lavender asked. The Dryad had a concerned look on her face upon finding out their new boss.

"Why do you look so concerned, Lave? He seems fine to me," Liora caught the worries of her colleague. The interaction between Elnar and Tang Shaoyang convinced her that her new boss was not that bad.

"Haven’t you heard the rumor about the new Executive Administrator? He killed his way to be officially admitted as Administrator, and the rumor also said that he killed Executive Administrator Palmas. That’s how he was promoted so quickly," The Dryad had heard a lot of the rumors that spread, and most of the rumors were bad.

"I hear something different about him. He didn’t kill his way to be an Administrator. It’s because the God Order tried to take something belonging to him. The God Order and the Nirvana Alliance tried to kill him, bribing the trial overseers, but it ended up killing those corrupt administrators," Meadow commented.

Azhug also heard the rumor about the new Executive Administrator, but he knew better not to trust the rumors. He would rather believe his own eyes, and he believed his new boss was a decent person. At least, not as bad as the rumor mentioned about him. The rumors could be the work of the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order.

"If you are concerned, then I will talk with our new boss that you have accepted another job and will not continue your employment after the temporary contract is over, Lave. However, I will stay here and work for him. I trust my own eyes more than those unreliable rumors. You will make the decision what you want to do, and I can’t force you to take the job."

"I will take the job." Liora was the first one to give her answer with confidence.

"Me too," Albeit hesitating a little bit, Meadow decided to work with the new boss as well.

Lavender hesitated a little longer and still did not give her answer, "What about Elnar? Will he stay as well?"

"I believe he will stay as well," Liora answered for Elnar. "He had a positive interaction with our new boss, and Elnar seems to like our new boss, too. But we can ask him."

Four of them left for the Medical Hub, seeking an answer from the Troll. Lavender tried to explain the rumor about their new boss.

"You know it very well that you can’t trust those rumors, Lave. Didn’t we hear a resounding rumor about the Gosthone Emporium? And you already know how to get those exotic and rare Beast Spirits from. Most of the time, rumors are just rumors, not the truth, and even if the rumor is true, I will still stay here. What he did doesn’t matter to me. I am here for the Beast Spirit."

Elnar’s answer was firm and clear. He would stay regardless of the owner’s reputation in the God Realm.
