Chapter 1986: Making Progress

Tang Shaoyang was amused by what he heard. Not that he tried to eavesdrop on their conversation, but apparently, he could hear what they talked about no matter where they were. He heard everything and realized the significance of his new position as Executive Administrator.

He already knew that an Executive Administrator was a big deal in the God Realm, but he just didn’t expect it to be this big, to spread to the whole God Realm. This gave him a new perspective on the reputation of the Administrator. The Administrators were respected and feared, and he got after seeing his workers’ reaction after finding out about his position as Administrator.

"Or I guess he is quite nonchalant despite my status."

He recalled Elnar’s reaction and also answered when Lavender brought up her concern.

The sound of the door being opened resounded. He turned toward the noise. Azhug led his team back to the Management Center, missing Elnar. The Troll loved to spend his time with the Beast Spirit, or maybe the Troll was worried about the wounded Beast Spirit.

"I don’t know if you know, but I can hear everything that you guys discussed about me."

Tang Shaoyang said with a smile as Azhug was about to sit across from him. He did not try to hide the fact that he heard what was being discussed. Seeing Azhug and the others’ reaction, he assumed they did not know about it.

"I thought you knew, since you have been in this job for years. For some reason, I have a sense of what happens in my space and can also hear almost everything despite the distance. Maybe you should use or buy an artifact that could mask sound if you are worried about privacy in this space."

Lavender’s face turned white as she imagined the consequences for talking to an Executive Administrator badly behind him. She had heard a lot of horrible things about offending the administrator, including getting their faction destroyed. She just put her life and her faction in danger for no reason.

"It’s fine, Lavender. I am not going to eat you just because you talk behind me. But again, I wish for you to find the truth before coming to a conclusion," Tang Shaoyang waved his hand at the scared shitless Dryad. "I also respect your decision and will let you go if you don’t want to work for me. I don’t want to force you to work for me just for you to work half heartedly."

Azhug was genuinely relieved that his new boss was not unreasonable like the other administrators. He met more than a few administrators who acted cocky before when they tried to buy a Beast Spirit from his previous boss.

"Lavender hasn’t made the decision yet, Sir. She will give you the answer after the end of our temporary contract," Azhug answered on behalf of Lavender, "And I will make sure to watch over my assistants so they will never work half-heartedly."

"I trust you, Azhug," Tang Shaoyang tapped Azhug’s shoulder twice as he stood up, "Let’s be done with this contract and employment. I want you to teach me more about the Beast Spirit and how you are going to operate this place for me."

The over three meters tall Azhug bowed his head toward Tang Shaoyang, "Thank you for your understanding and generosity, Sir."

The Fae, the Dryad, and the Cat-Folk also bowed their heads.

"Before anything, let’s start by giving your world a name, Sir. It would be weird to call your world this space or World of Beast Spirit or this world."

Tang Shaoyang nodded understandingly as it made sense. It was weird to call this by the name of the skill, and he was not using this place to open a business empire. However, this could be a good place for his daughters to play with the Beast Spirits.

The moment he remembered his daughter, he remembered his daughter’s request before he left. Xiulan wanted a new pet, especially a cat. He got five of them here already, and it was not a bad idea to turn this place into another Xiulan’s playground. It also meant he could bring his daughter around without putting her in danger as well.

With that in mind, he opened the menu for the Management Center and opened the information menu where he could change the name. He typed the name and nodded satisfyingly as he pressed confirm.

"I have changed the name. It’s Xiulan Garden."

"Xiulan Garden..." Azhug muttered in a low voice. This place was too big for a garden, and this was the first time that someone named a menagerie with garden.

"Xiulan is my daughter..." Tang Shaoyang paused as he realized his mistake. His mistake was because he used Xiulan’s name, while he also had two other daughters.

Li Yue was Li Na’s sister, but he treated her like she was his daughter because of her age. Li Jiaying was Li Shuang’s daughter from her previous marriage. Even though neither was related by blood to him, they were still his daughter.

If he named this place after Xiulan, he was afraid that Li Yue and Li Jiaying would feel excluded by him. He did not want them to feel that way for sure. That was why he wanted to change the name immediately to a more neutral name.

"Can I change the name again?" He asked Azhug in panic.

Azhug did not know why his boss panicked. He thought it was fine to name this place after his daughter, and he understood a little bit about his boss. It seemed like his boss wanted to dedicate this place to his daughter.

"You can change the name again, but you have to pay 100k GC..." The Ogre did not finish his word as he noticed the name was already changed. As a caretaker, he had the authority to open the Management Center’s menu, and he witnessed in real time the name change.

The name changed from Xiulan Garden to Tang Garden. He was confused why his new boss was using the family name now, but he was not going to question his boss’s decision. Especially after finding out his new boss’s status as Executive Administrator.

"It’s Tang Garden then," Azhug nodded in satisfaction as it sounded better than calling it World of Beast Spirit. "There’s a new option after you upgrade the Management Center to Level 2, Treasury, and Staff."

Tang Shaoyang indeed found the two new options after upgrading the Management Center.

"You can put the funds into the Treasury, so you don’t need to worry that your caretaker will steal your money. There will be a detailed record you can check how much I take and what I use the money for. You will also receive a notification when I want to take the money from the treasury, and I need your consent to take the money."

Tang Shaoyang nodded and put 2.5 billion into the treasury instead of 2 billion.

Azhug’s eyes bulged, but again, he was not as shocked as before. His new boss was an Executive Administrator, and 2.5 billion might be a small change for his new boss.

"Then open the Staff menu and click my name. You give me authority and also restrict a certain facility, including the authority to draw money and also do research..."

Tang Shaoyang clicked Azhug’s name, and a bunch of things appeared. He could hand over full authority over Azhug, including accepting Beast Spirit Application as well as building a new facility and buying terrains and other stuff. He ticked off a lot of things, almost giving Azhug full authority. Of course, he would not allow Azhug to bring out the Beast Spirit from the Tang Garden.

The notification appeared right after, and Azhug was telling the truth about the notification. It might be disturbing for him at the early stage because Azhug would buy a lot of things. However, he did not want to get rid of this second confirmation.

"Let’s start building my garden, Azhug. You can also explain more things that I need to know about the Beast Spirit as well, while at it."

The Ogre grinned and nodded, "Alright, let’s start the fun parts..."

Azhug Oogurim brought his boss outside as they started to build the habitat for the Snow Caracal. Elnar joined them as well, giving his opinion while helping them to shape the terrain. Creating a natural cave, as it seemed the white cat liked to sleep inside the cave.

Azhug withdrew 100 million and bought the snowy terrain, a custom terrain. They could modify how much snow and also the temperature, which was amazing, but the terrain could only be applied to one area, which was a 100x100 meter area only. If they wanted to expand the cold area, then they had to buy the terrain again.

After setting up the Snow Caracal’s habitat, they moved to the south and started to build the habitat for the Void Sparrow and Auspicious Mytherean. Elnar was not only treating and monitoring the wounded Beast Spirit, but the Troll also communicated with them.

The Void Sparrow loved to live in forest habitat, and Elnar gave them detailed information, like what kind of tree the bird liked, and so on.

The Auspicious Mytherean, or what they called a Royal Beast Spirit, had a totally different habitat. They created a beautiful garden, and Elnar created a small hill where they placed a castle the size of the Auspicious Mytherean’s size on it. They treated the Beast Spirit like royalty.

It made sense when Tang Shaoyang recalled the bearing of the gold-rose furred cat’s bearings. It was prideful and also dignified despite being hunted. It showed no fear.

The lesson continued as Tang Shaoyang followed his staff as he listened attentively. He got a deeper understanding of the Beast Spirit. Next, they bought two new facilities: the Trade Center and Beast Spirit Alliance Hub.

He could open the Trade Center from anywhere, and he could see that people were selling a variety of food and toys for Beast Spirits. It was listed in this Trade Center, and Azhug told him that sometimes, some owners would sell Beast Spirit as well through the Trade Center.

They could snatch up some Beast Spirits from this Trade Center to fulfill the requirement for a three-star reputation.

After the introduction was done, Azhug wanted to bring Tang Shaoyang to the Beast Spirit Alliance Hub.

"Are you ready, Sir?" Azhug asked Tang Shaoyang as they stood in front of a portal inside the Beast Spirit Alliance Hub. Behind Azhug was Lavender and Mead, while Elnar and Liora decided to stay to monitor the wounded and starved Beast Spirit.
