Chapter 2025: Affectionate Beast Spirit

Li Shuang was relieved that everything could be solved smoothly. She could feel that Tang Shaoyang was fond of his workers, and they made it work. With the job done, she decided to check what this was about. Her daughter told her about the zoo, but she knew if it was her husband’s project, it was more than a zoo.

The Ogre, who was much taller than she, guided her in the front, and her husband next to her. They followed the paved path and arrived in front of a gate with a beautiful garden behind it. The colorful flowers adorned the land behind the gate. The pleasant floral scent, the cool breeze, and the beautiful scenery made this place a good place to relax.

’Having a picnic lunch together with our family might be nice in this place, a good break once in a while.’

That remained in her thoughts because she knew her husband was on a mission. Some factions were afraid of her husband’s potential, and they wanted to destroy him and his empire. The best thing she could do to help him was to manage the empire’s affairs, lessening his burden with what she was best at.

"So, what kind of Beast Spirit lives here?" She distracted her own thoughts with the thing she was curious about. She was curious what kind of beast lived in such a beautiful place.

"Aela lives here, an auspicious Mytherean, a beast known to bring luck. The children like her a lot."

Azhug opened the gate as they stepped into the path. There was a path to avoid stomping on the flowers. They walked a little bit until she saw a small hill, and there was a castle on top of that hill. The castle was so small that she could tell she could not enter it.

There were two towers with flat surfaces on top, and she saw Aela standing on the tower. Seeing the Beast Spirit reminded her of a Persian Cat breed. It had white, thick, and long fur; her eyes were captivating. It just stood there, yet it showed elegance, radiating regality.

The theme of the area clicked in her head; it made sense. Since it was a beast spirit, it was much bigger than a cat, and she noticed a little bit of hostility from Aela directed toward her.

Li Shuang was surprised and somehow panicked, thinking she had done something wrong to draw Aela’s ire.

"Don’t be surprised, Lady Li Shuang. Mytherean is known for a territorial Beast Spirit, and it is also because it’s her first time meeting you, Lady Li Shuang. You are a stranger who intrudes into her territory from her perspective. Just give her some time, let her familiarize you with your smell, and you will be fine on your next visit."

Azhug explained that Aela’s hostility was obvious. Someone who had experienced the battlefield could tell it with a single glance.

"She is not a stranger. She is my wife!" Tang Shaoyang beckoned toward Aela, then he caressed Li Shuang’s belly, "And she conceived my child."

As if she understood what her husband said, Aela showed less hostility. It jumped down and landed gracefully on the paved path. She walked like royalty, slowly approaching Li Shuang in a cautious manner. She seemed to smell her master’s scent on Li Shuang, and her hostility instantly disappeared.

Aela stood in front of Li Shuang, her pretty eyes locked on the bulging belly. She could feel a life inside the bulging belly, and she beckoned toward Li Shuang to squat down.

The Ogre was about to reprimand the cat who dared to order Lady Boss, but he was stopped by his boss.

Li Shuang squatted down, and Aela approached her, specifically the bulging belly. She smelled the belly, her nose twitching cutely, and her eyes went wide for a moment as a realization dawned on her. Aela realized there was indeed life inside that bulging belly, a fragile life that needed to be protected.

The Auspicious Mytherean did not hesitate to rub her cheek against the belly, gently. The action surprised Azhug because it was rare for the Auspicious Mytherean to act this way toward the person she had just met.

Li Shuang smiled and stroked Aela’s back gently. Her smile got wider when she found out Aela enjoyed it as well. Such interaction helped her to clear her mind. She just wanted to relish the moment for a little longer before returning to her work.

"Mommy!"

She heard her daughter’s voice and looked up. YingYing was carrying a rabbit that shone like a diamond. Behind her, a bigger rabbit was chasing after her daughter with two more rabbits of a similar size to the rabbit in her daughter’s hand.

YingYing excitedly introduced the family of the Diamonian Rabbit, from the mother to the children. After introducing the rabbit, she pulled her mother’s hand because she wanted to bring her mother to the pond where Elnar, Tang Xiulan, and Li Yue were, the pond of Crimson Mist.

Li Shuang followed her daughter with a smile, enjoying the relaxing moment with her daughter. She was so focused on her daughter that she didn’t notice Aela following her closely.

Azhug was shocked that Aela was willing to leave her area. This never happened since the castle was built. The Auspicious Mytherean only walked around her territory. Even when he tried to bring Aela for a walk, the majestic cat never followed him.

Then he saw this: Aela followed a woman she had just met. They had less than a five-minute interaction, and Aela was willing to follow Lady Boss around. Meanwhile, he fed Aela every day, making this beautiful area with the majestic castle, and he could never take Aela for a walk.

Tang Shaoyang was oblivious of his caretaker’s feelings, following his wife and his daughters around. They spent another hour giving Li Shuang a tour. By the end of the tour, Li Shuang seemed to have made a decision.

"We need to set up a private fund for the Tang Garden. I will arrange our finances to set aside our revenue for the Tang Garden."

"Or I can fund this myself. I got a lot of GC from my Administrator Mission. You don’t need to worry about the fund." Tang Shaoyang did not want to add more workload for Li Shuang to set up a separate fund for the Tang Garden. She had enough work, and she should focus on their child.

Li Shuang was adamant about adding more work for herself. There was nothing he could do when his wife had already made the decision. The work and the tour were over, and it was time for her to go back. She could not leave her post for too long, but there was an interesting event.

The Auspicious Mytherean stood in front of Li Shuang and hissed at Tang Shaoyang. She seemed to know that Li Shuang was about to leave the Tang Garden, and she did not want Li Shuang to leave.

"Look at this ungrateful girl, hissing at her owner, huh?" Tang Shaoyang shook his head at the cat, which was in a defensive stance. The cat seemed to be ready to pounce on him if he were to take Li Shuang.

Aela took one step back; her back touched Li Shuang’s shin, but she remained in the same position. It was as if she were ready to protect Li Shuang from Tang Shaoyang’s evil hand.

Li Shuang rolled her eyes at her husband and shooed him away as she squatted down, stroking Aela’s back gently, "I have to go back now, Aela. However, I promise you that I will visit this place often with my daughters."

The beast seemed to be pleased when she heard the first part, but then the beast’s eyes twitched when Li Shuang mentioned her daughters. She took a quick glance at the three smiling girls who waved their hands at her.

Li Shuang looked at her husband, "Let’s stay for another fifteen minutes."

She was coaxing Aela for the next fifteen minutes, making promises that she would bring her friends, who were her sisters.

Tang Shaoyang watched everything from the side, letting her wife do her part. It was interesting, or maybe amusing. He found the three baby dragons seemed to be wary of the Auspicious Mytherean. When the white cat glanced at the trio, they flinched and appeared to be meek. Something must have happened when he was discussing the contract.

Fifteen minutes were extended to thirty minutes before Aela gave permission for Li Shuang to leave the Tang Garden. Tang Shaoyang was not impatient or anything; in fact, he was happy with this unexpected event.

Not only did he not regret taking the class, but in fact, the class value tripled after his wife’s visit. Her wife and daughters were having a great time here. Looking at this from the side, he thought of an idea.
