Chapter 2026: There’s Always an Issue

Tang Shaoyang sent Li Shuang, his daughters, and the team back because Azhug asked him to stay for further discussion. The Ogre mentioned a development, but it was more than that; he had a personal question.

"May I know what Lady Li Shuang’s class is, Boss? I have tried to get closer to Aela, but the best thing I could achieve is petting her. She doesn’t want to walk with me, let alone trying to act like the way she acted toward Lady Li Shuang."

Tang Shaoyang assumed that was a personal question. The Ogre assumed Li Shuang might have a class that could get her naturally closer to the Beast Spirit. That made sense, and Azhug wanted that class if it could help him get closer to the Beast Spirit.

However, he just realized that he did not really know Li Shuang’s class. He knew one of her classes, but he was pretty sure Li Shuang had more than one class. Especially after her venture to the Dimensional Tower with others and reaching Myth Rank. She might have two or three classes, but he only knew one of them, which was a Mage.

"I don’t know all her classes, but I am pretty sure she is a mage. More than that, I don’t think it has anything to do with her class. It’s more because my wife is expecting, and knowing my wife is conceiving a fragile life, Aela wants to protect my wife."

Azhug knew very well it was most likely what had happened. However, he hoped that it was related to a class, so he could get one class to help with his job.

He was disappointed, but also helpless because he could never get pregnant. Aela would never treat him the way she treats Lady Li Shuang.

With a defeated look on his face, Azhug brought his boss back to the office. They needed to talk about the next expansion. Planning was important for an expansion. The Tang Garden already reached a three-star rating in a little more than a month, and that was with the power of money.

However, there was so much that money could do, but that was not something they needed to worry about for now. It was when they reached the five-star ratings. They still needed money to maintain the Tang Garden, but to advance, they needed more than money.

Azhug did not tell his boss too early, to make his boss worried about something that would not happen yet. The plan was to choose the Beast Spirit type because that would decide what kind of habitat they would build next.

Azhug preferred if his Boss picked something that suited the current habitat, but that was not up to him. It was for his Boss to decide, and he would try to give his Boss advice about that now. What he thought would be a long meeting was cut short when he heard his Boss’s answer.

"Oh, that’s not for me to decide. We will bring my daughters and my wives to the market, and they will choose the next Beast Spirits. You must be prepared for anything, and maybe I will let you have a discussion with them later."

That was Tang Shaoyang’s idea after seeing Li Shuang’s interaction with Aela. He wanted each of his wives to pick their favorites since they would visit the Tang Garden frequently. Having them choose the Beast Spirit would give them an anticipation when they visited this place.

Azhug really did not expect to hear this from his boss. It was like his Boss truly picked this class just for his family. That was not something he would expect from an Executive Administrator. He still had a doubt that his Boss might want a battle-focused Beast Spirit, but this convinced him that his Boss didn’t really want those types.

The meeting was cut short, and Tang Shaoyang told Azhug that he would inform him of the day to pick for the new Beast Spirit. Fortunately, there was no restriction that prevented his family from entering the market. He could bring anyone with him, even if they were not his workers. The difference was that they could not buy their own Beast Spirit since the market specialized in someone with a Beast Spirit-related class.

Tang Shaoyang finished his contract problem with Azhug, and he would not need to worry about caretaker issues for at least 100 years. One issue was solved, but there were still more waiting for him.

He had told Li Shuang about the Daenelis Clan’s proposal to Li Shuang. She told him to wait because she needed Zhang Mengyao and others’ opinions before she could make any decision. Khaya had sent him the details of the Daenelis Clan, and he had forwarded the message to Li Shuang.

He was alone in the same meeting and approached the window. Right behind the Smart Base was TEIS’s Main Headquarters. TEIS was the police for the Tang Empire; they were responsible for the Tang Empire’s internal security.

His father-in-law was the one in charge of TEIS, and his father-in-law still held the position after the last mishap. In fact, his father-in-law became even more earnest after his last mistake, allowing himself to be controlled by someone.

TEIS had its own uniform; navy blue was its signature color. The people with the same uniform went in and out frequently. The HQ looked really busy, and he did not expect it to be this busy. It seemed people had adapted to the new world, and they were doing their silly crimes.

Tang Shaoyang, fortunately, had not heard of any big crime happening in his empire. The noisiest thing was when they caught a spy who escaped the TEIS’s prison. Lu An had to take care of the issue by himself, chasing those spies even when they had returned to their faction’s territory.

"Maybe I should visit TEIS..." He muttered in a low voice. He was curious what kind of cases TEIS handled, but then he was distracted by something else: the Dimensional Tower.

Tang Shaoyang no longer had interest in the Ancient Dimensional Tower, but he had unfinished business. He would not clear this Dimensional Tower because he would rather visit the Sacred Realm or maybe cleanse an abandoned world. But he made a promise, and it was also for his empire’s future, to recruit more army, preparing for the worst.

"Maybe tomorrow..."

He postponed his visit to the Dimensional Tower. There was a lot of work tonight. First, he would introduce cultivation to his wives. Second, he needed to select the cultivation technique for the people who were willing to join the Thousand Vows Pavilion. To avoid a ruckus, he sent his brother-in-law a message that he would visit the TEIS’s HQ, telling him not to make a fuss about his visit.

Kang Zian waited for Tang Shaoyang at the entrance, and the TEIS people would bow at him as they passed him. He smiled when he spotted Tang Shaoyang, waving his hand at Tang Shaoyang.

"This will be your first time visiting the TEIS. I will be your guide for you today," His brother-in-law beamed when Tang Shaoyang showed an interest in TEIS’s matter.

"I am not here for a tour, just checking," Tang Shaoyang glanced to the side, where three people in uniform dragged a man who was handcuffed. Looking at the flesh wound on the handcuffed and disheveled uniform. It did not look like an easy catch.

"I have seen from above," He pointed at the tall Smart Base, "You guys have a busy day, huh?"

"Hah..."

Kang Zian let out a long sigh as he beckoned to his brother-in-law to follow him inside, "We have been busy because of the immigration. We received a big influx of migration with the second Dimensional Tower. These new people are giving a weird idea, saying the empire needs a new system. You will see."

Kang Zian brought Tang Shaoyang to the interrogation room. A white man with brown hair stood across from the TEIS member. With a single glance, Tang Shaoyang could tell the man was a foreigner.

"That man is Josh Clay, and this is the third time this month we have brought him to detention. We can’t really put him in jail or a dungeon because he hasn’t committed any crime. It’s just a street brawl, but the problem is the reason for that street brawl."

Tang Shaoyang nodded, listening to the interview. It was more like an interview than an interrogation because the TEIS member did not really press anything on the man. The TEIS member seemed to be tired, facing the foreigner.

As Kang Zian mentioned, it was a street brawl between the people who tried to speak up for Democracy instead of the current system. Josh wanted the Tang Empire to shift the System into a Democracy, about letting the people choose their leader. The man started to preach the negative things about the monarchy and so on.

That was when Josh met his supporter, who could not accept Josh’s view. Josh kept provoking the man, which later became a street brawl. A street brawl because they could not use their skills inside the city. Using a skill inside the city was a crime.

The foreigner’s voice got louder and louder. At this point, Josh was trying to persuade the TEIS member to join his cause. This was no longer an interrogation, a speech from the prisoner.

Even with the Essence of Tranquility Breathing, Tang Shaoyang was angry listening to this foreigner. He accepted them because they were looking for better living conditions, yet these people tried to overthrow him. Josh was lucky he learned the Essence of Tranquility Breathing. If not for the technique, Josh would get a slap at minimum, which might kill him if he lost his temper.
