Chapter 2062: Starting a War (1)

Even after all those summons took away their friends, it was still four against one. Carter didn’t know where this man’s confidence came from. Even some of those summons who brought three to five of his friends would die soon enough, and they would have even more people to their advantage soon enough.

Even if somehow they could not kill Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang, they could at least buy time until their friends returned. However, Carter was confident that Arthur, Aemilia, Rados, and he were enough to kill Tang Shaoyang.

Before Geralt accepted the request, he did a deep background check. That was the reason why Geralt was confidently accepting the request. They found out that Tang Shaoyang reached the God Rank not that long ago, three years maximum.

The reason he could join the Administrator was because of the Trial of God. Of course, they had confirmed that the new Executive Administrator’s feat for killing the Emperor of the Void Cult was true.

Tang Shaoyang had the power to back up the promotion, but they believed the Administrator promoted him because of his potential. As for Tang Shaoyang’s current strength, he was still far behind compared to the existing Executive Administrators. That was what they believed and why Geralt dared to take the risk.

They even checked Tang Shaoyang’s connection. The only noteworthy connection Tang Shaoyang had was with another Executive Administrator, Arion. Arion was an anomaly that no one dared to touch. He didn’t have a faction, a single individual who was feared by many. The rumor mentioned that Tang Shaoyang was Arion’s bastard, but they had confirmed that it was not true.

There was a rumor that Tang Shaoyang was connected to the Dragon Realm. They had checked it with their connection and found out that Tang Shaoyang had a conflict with one of the descendants of the Dragon Guardian.

Tang Shaoyang was considered an anomaly that came out from a new world, but on a grander scale, the new Executive Administrator was a newcomer to the God Realm. A figure that was not to be feared by the Ten Stars Accord.

Carter was genuinely curious where Tang Shaoyang’s confidence came from. He didn’t believe that this man would be able to defeat those who had reached the God Rank for at least fifty years. In terms of level, they out-level Tang Shaoyang. He believed they out-level the new Executive Administrator by a huge gap.

If he wanted to consider a disadvantage for them, it was the fact that his classes and skills were tailored for assassination and information-gathering. Stealth and the element of surprise were their forte, not a frontal battle like this. That was the only disadvantage he could think of.

Carter exchanged glances with his remaining friends. They nodded, activating the Bloodline Transformation. Then Carter used his Shadow Elemental Body. He was the only one with the Shadow Elemental Body. He instantly blended into the shadows. Aemilia followed him, disappearing into the shadows.

The four had a deeper understanding of each other’s abilities. Rados and Arthur would face Tang Shaoyang head-on, while Aemilia and Carter would look for an opening from the shadows. Rados and Arthur had a better chance in a frontal combat despite their specialization as assassins. These two didn’t put everything into being an assassin.

Rados’s body burst into a green flame while Arthur’s body turned into water. The two moved in the opposite direction, splitting Tang Shaoyang’s attention. They thought they would be able to split Tang Shaoyang’s attention and give them more advantage.

However, this was when Rados found they had made the wrong decision. Before he could get into a position, Tang Shaoyang appeared in front of him with his axe in the air. Tang Shaoyang’s whole body also turned into black flame, and the axe was blazed in the same black flame.

Rados was confident that Tang Shaoyang’s black flame would not be able to hurt him, but the moment he faced the axe. He felt something ominous from that axe. He made a quick judgment, kicking the floor and dashed away from Tang Shaoyang.

The axe hit the floor and split the building. At the same time, the black flame burst out, creating a wall of flame.

"What are you doing, Rados?" Arthur called his friend out. In that situation, Rados was supposed to engage with Tang Shaoyang to create an opening. But Rados chose to escape instead of meeting Tang Shaoyang’s head on.

"That’s right, what are you doing, Rados? Where’s your confidence gone? Come and fight me!"

Tang Shaoyang turned toward Rados with a grin. Then his body disappeared. Using Blink, he appeared behind Rados.

Rados felt an extreme heat from behind, which he immediately recognized as Tang Shaoyang being behind him. He turned around to see that the battle axe was halfway to hitting his head from above. He flicked his hand as a short sword appeared in his hand.

The short sword was covered in green flame, and he put it upward to meet the incoming battle axe. Despite his uneasiness, he knew his friend was right. He needed to engage with Tang Shaoyang to create an opening.

The moment the battle axe was about to hit his short sword, he didn’t know what got into him, but he pulled back the sword and used his movement skill to get away. Rados fled to the sky and turned around when he felt safe enough.

The whole building crumbled, the ground split open. Not just crumbling, there was even a pit that blazed in the black flame where the building had stood before.

Carter, Aemilia, and Arthur regrouped in the sky with Rados. The three had accusatory glares, clearly blaming Rados for not engaging Tang Shaoyang.

"What are you doing, Rados? Don’t tell me you are scared of the newcomer?" Carter voiced his dissatisfaction to Rados.

He just needed Rados to engage against Tang Shaoyang for thirty seconds. Thirty seconds, all Aemilia and he needed to look for an opening. He believed those thirty seconds were not enough for Tang Shaoyang to kill Rados, even if Tang Shaoyang was stronger than Rados.

Rados sneered at Carter. He was the one taking the risk, not Carter. "You can say that because you don’t put yourself at risk. Why don’t you fight him while I am looking for the opening?"

Carter wanted to say something, but then they all noticed a golden light coming from above. They all looked up at the same time, and they saw four golden swords shining in the night sky.

The sword was around three meters long, and they noticed the black flame making a wave around the golden sword. They had not fully processed what they were seeing when the golden sword shot down. It was so fast that in the blink of an eye, the golden sword was just ten centimeters above them.

That was the moment when Carter and Arthur realized why Rados avoided Tang Shaoyang. They first sensed the ominous feeling from the sword, which was followed by danger afterward. Their instinct told them to dodge the sword even in their Elemental Body.

Carter, Rados, and Arthur used their movement skills to get away from the sword. Their bodies blurred, but Aemilia faced the golden sword confidently. The golden sword cut through the ground and disappeared into the ground.

Rados breathed heavily, clutching his left shoulder. He lost his entire left arm, bleeding profusely. He felt it, the death door. This reminded him of the feeling he had long forgotten, the near-death experience.

Then he turned his head toward Aemilia. He was late to dodge because he noticed Aemilia faced the sword confidently, thinking the sword would not be able to hurt her. There, he saw Aemilia’s body was split into two from above. Her disbelief expression slowly separated as her body fell.

Before the body completely fell, Tang Shaoyang appeared below the body. With a single touch, the body disappeared.

"Can’t let a good sacrifice be wasted."

That was what he heard from Tang Shaoyang’s mouth. Then he turned toward him, as if he had become Tang Shaoyang’s target for some reason.

"Come on, Rados. Stop running away from me. Fight me. Where’s your confidence going?"

If it was before, Rados would be mad with that cheap taunt, but he had experienced how dangerous the man in front of him was. He started to understand why the Administrator appointed him to be the Executive Administrator.

"We need more people to fight him..." His voice faded as he realized that he was all alone. Arthur and Carter were nowhere to be seen, hiding. He realized that his friends had abandoned him, or maybe they had put him as bait.

"Ah, yes, of course, you will run, Carter. All you can do is talk big, and now you run away. YOU F*CKING COWARD!"

Rados glanced at his left arm, which was slowly regenerated. It was regenerating, but it was too slow. Something was affecting his regeneration. He should be able to regenerate an entire army in less than a minute, but he only managed to stop the bleeding.

"That’s right, it’s just you and me, Rados. But don’t worry. I have disabled the world teleportation. They can’t escape from me," Tang Shaoyang grinned, "I will kill them after I am done with you."
