Chapter 2064: Starting a War (3)

Tang Shaoyang flew to the sky, putting himself in the open, hoping people would attack him. That was right, he was so bored that he put himself at risk of being attacked. At the same time, he watched the battlefield from above. Once the majestic city was in flames, screams resounded in the air.

Did he regret attacking the Shadow Star? No. He would not change his mind just because the innocents were dragged into his battle. His goal didn’t change to use the Shadow Star as an example for the other factions, making them think thrice before attacking him and his family, especially the assassin faction like the Shadow Star.

The flame spread, and more screams resounded. The residents of the city’s first reaction was trying to escape, but when they heard the declaration about the surrender, more and more people surrendered. Most of them were people below Legend Rank.

Just as he thought his spirits would not suffer casualties, he sensed two spirits returning to the Spirit World. They were two Calamity Spirits, and they could not accept how they died. They were ambushed from behind, and both immediately expressed their desire to be summoned again.

"Nope. You are in a weakened state right now. You will die again if I summon you two. Stay there for a week!"

If a spirit died, it would be in a weakened state for one week. That was the drill, and this was the first time these two spirits died. They seemed not to be aware of the effect of dying.

Tang Shaoyang stayed there for another half an hour, and three more spirits died. They were also the three Calamity Spirits that got ambushed. He warned his spirits to be more aware of the ambush after the first two, but the Shadow Star lived up to their reputation as an assassin faction.

The first to return from the domain fight was Avyn, as usual. He was surprised to see Avyn’s dress burned and cut. He also noticed the dried blood at the corner of her lips. He was surprised that those five assassins could injure her in her domain.

"They are actually decent, and I am surprised that you finish earlier than I do." That was her first comment as she threw the five dead bodies at him.

Tang Shaoyang caught the sacrifices and put them into his inventory, "It seems you got the decent ones, while I got the trashy ones. They underestimated me and ended up killing two of them quickly before they could go all out. Then the remaining two fled, and I can’t be bothered chasing rats."

Avyn was about to say to use his domain, but she quickly realized that his domain was the unique one. There was a high chance that he could find them with the domain, but it was truly not worth the mana when he had all his spirits out.

"But this is truly disappointing for your friends to warn us about how strong the Shadow Star is," Avyn looked in the city. She could not see the details like Tang Shaoyang, but she could tell that they were at an advantage after a quick observation.

"Don’t lower your guard, Avyn, or you will suffer just like those two that I killed earlier. We don’t know that there might be more coming from the other cities. This might be the Shadow Star’s main base, but they might have more people outside."

Tang Shaoyang reminded Avyn that the battle had just started. This was far from an end, and those two who fled from him might leave to get more reinforcement. They could not leave this world, so they would gather their own people who stayed in this world.

"Where’s Geralt?" Avyn nodded understandingly, but then she noticed a person was not around. She remembered Tang Shaoyang would let Geralt watch the fall of the Shadow Star, but he was not around.

"Oh..." Tang Shaoyang turned toward the pit that was still blazing in his black flame. His excitement about the upcoming fight made him forget about Geralt. He left the Shadow Star’s leader in the building he destroyed. He tried to look for Geralt, only to find out that he could not sense anyone from that pit of black flame.

That was when he realized that Geralt might be burned by his flame. Not even his remains were left behind. He accidentally killed the leader of the Shadow Star.

"I think I killed him, accidentally," He didn’t forget to add the last part, "I got carried away by the fact that I might have had a decent fight, but it ended up as a disappointing fight. And cherry on top, I lost that Geralt guy as well. This is truly not my day, huh."

In the next ten minutes, Vandir and Zara returned. The Lich was giggling by himself as he came back, throwing two bodies at Tang Shaoyang. He kept one for himself. He didn’t look like someone who suffered injury, or maybe it looked like that because he was a skeleton.

Meanwhile, Zara threw the three dead bodies at Tang Shaoyang. She left the domain unscathed, even though she took longer to beat his enemies.

In another hour, the city fell into Tang Shaoyang’s hands. The city where the Shadow Star’s main base fell in less than two hours. Tang Shaoyang sent the survivors back inside the building, threatening them that they would be killed if they were out of the building.

In that process, 17 Calamity Spirits also died. The Shadow Star put up a good fight for his spirits, but not for himself. He lost 17 spirits, much better than he thought. He thought he might lose more than fifty spirits to take down the city where the Shadow Star’s main base was. This was easier than he thought.

"What’s next?" Vandir asked. This was the eleventh time he asked the same question. He wanted to return to the Spirit World for his next experiment, but Tang Shaoyang had been holding him back.

"We will wait! We will wait until the reinforcement comes. The battle just started, Vandir."

"That’s true. This is just one city, after all," Vandir nodded, but then he turned toward Tang Shaoyang, "Here I thought you were not going to make any more enemies, and you just made one."

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, "I am not making an enemy, but it’s them who decide to be my enemy."

"If you say so, Boss. I am not going to complain about so much entertainment. How about sending me back to the Spirit World and summoning me again later? My hand is itching with the new body."

Tang Shaoyang waved his hand annoyingly at the Lich and sent him back to the Spirit World. It was now a waiting game.
