Chapter 2094: A Show of Force
Chapter 2094: A Show of Force
Tang Shaoyang looked down at the man they had left alive. Within that short time, they quickly found the commander and purposely left the man alive. They focused on the army and ended up killing them all within such a short time.
They had an advantage with the surprise attack, completely catching them off guard. That was a big advantage for them. However, still, for a faction in the God Realm. They should have some kind of formidable army, and he expected a fight back instead of one-sided slaughter like this.
This defeats the purpose of showing his people what a fight between God Ranks looked like. This was no different than a fight between a God Rank against an army of Demi-God Rank.
"Who are you?"
Tang Shaoyang furrowed his brow and glanced down at the man with a frozen body. He could sense fear from the man through his Absolute Aura.
"You didn’t know the owner of the territory you wanted to attack?"
But then it made sense if they didn’t know this was his territory. If they knew, they might pull their troops right away. His title, Executive Administrator, truly gave a lot of people a scare, after all.
Alger’s eyes widened with his mouth open. He was racking his brain, trying to recall if there was any famous individual with such power. Then his eyes moved toward the Fallen Angel and the beauty in a pretty dress.
"Then let me introduce myself because you need to know that before making a report to your superior, whoever it is."
Tang Shaoyang squatted in front of the frozen man and said, "The Emperor of the Tang Empire, Tang Shaoyang. I will let you live and go back to report to... your king? Leader? I need you to tell them not to get too close to the Tang Empire."
Alger racked his brain, trying to recall if there was any powerful individual named Tang Shaoyang or a strong faction named Tang Empire. However, no name came up in his head. He didn’t know who this person was, but without a doubt, this man was much stronger than he was. Wiping out his army was a testament to how strong this man was.
"Alright then..."
Tang Shaoyang took out his sword and pulled it out. It flashed and cut through the man’s leg. He cut at the ankle part, and he coated his sword with his Dark Poison as well as Chaos Energy.
Avyn was surprised, not expecting that Tang Shaoyang could cut through her Ethereal Frost. But remained quiet while this unknown man was still here.
Alger thought he would be dead the moment Tang Shaoyang’s sword flashed. He closed his eyes for a moment, but then he realized that he was still conscious. He didn’t know what death felt like, but certainly not like this. He opened his eyes, and the same man was still standing in front of him, but the sword was no longer in his hand.
"Free him!"
That was when he sensed the ice melted quickly as he regained his freedom. His body was stiff, but it was much better because he could feel his body. His hand clenched into a fist and opened it again, trying to regain his flexibility.
It wasn’t until a jolt of excruciating pain hit him in his lower legs. He almost screamed, but he managed to hold it. His head snapped, trying to find out what had happened. That was when he saw that his feet were cut off from the ankles.
That was not the worst part. The worst part was that he could see his flesh was rotting, turning darker and darker as it went on. His regeneration didn’t work, and he tried to chug a healing potion, the highest grade healing potion he had, but that didn’t work either.
"Healing potion will not work. You need a priest with Divine Power to heal that, or it will not work. Unless you have a healing potion that is made of Divine Power, then that might work."
Alger turned toward the man in disbelief, but the pain caused him to frown deeper. It was getting more painful as time went on.
"And a warning. If your army ever gets closer to my territory again. I will take it as a war declaration. If that happens, then I will come to your territory!"
If it were before the battle, Alger would laugh it off that someone he didn’t know told him such an outrageous remark. However, he could only nod at what happened to his small fort and his subordinates.
"Now leave!"
Alger was relieved that he had regained control of his energy, and he immediately flew off before they changed their mind about letting him go. His control was stiff and erratic; he swayed right and left. He didn’t care how pathetic he looked; he just wanted to go back as soon as possible and report the situation.
Tang Shaoyang, Zara, and Avyn watched the man scramble away. The first one to break the silence was Zara.
"You need to work a little bit more on your introduction. I don’t think it’s necessary to tell him that you are an Emperor. You reminded me of those arrogant nobles who use their title when they introduce themselves. As if you are saying: I am an Emperor, praise me, respect me, fear me. Something like that."
Tang Shaoyang rubbed his chin and recalled what he said while looking at it from a different perspective. He understood what Zara tried to say, and he agreed with her.
He was about to say what was on his mind, but the fight was quite disappointing because they ended quickly, until he noticed a frown on Avyn’s face. That was a rare look he caught from her.
"What’s wrong? Something is bothering you?" he asked, and her answer surprised him.
"Yes, and it’s you that bothered me," Avyn pointed at the leg that he cut off earlier, "How did you cut through my ice so easily?"
Tang Shaoyang smiled as he found it funny that something like that bothered her. He didn’t think that something trivial like that bothered her.
"Using various combinations of my abilities. I coated my sword with Chaos Energy, Absolute Aura, and the best quality sword. You should know about all of that by now."
The frown quickly disappeared from Avyn’s face as her confusion was answered. She did forget about Absolute Aura, which worked like a cheat. With how powerful Tang Shaoyang is right now. That aura had become much stronger. An aura was something that grew even more powerful along with its user, after all.
She saw how Tang Shaoyang easily stopped those God Ranks from moving by unleashing his aura. That proved how strong he had become, and he kept getting stronger.
"I see..." She muttered while nodding.
"But what should I do with my wives? This fight will not satisfy them, no? We easily plowed this army through and through. We wiped them in a few minutes." Tang Shaoyang was troubled because he failed to show Zhang Mengyao and the others what looked like a fight between the God Ranks.
"You are wrong. This should be enough to show them that their presence will be a burden to you if they join your fight," Zara had a different thought about this.
They might not be able to show what it looked like when two God Ranks on the same level of power fought, but they saw how terrifying their Emperor was. This would be enough to give them a reason why Tang Shaoyang didn’t bring the army into his fight. They should be able to imagine a fight between Tang Shaoyang and someone on his level.
"I hope so..." That made sense, but that didn’t give him the same confidence when he showed the actual fight between a God Rank on the same level.
"Let’s check your skeleton and the spirits..." Zara then let out a giggle, "I want to see what kind of expression they would make when they meet us."
The competition between the Skelly Family and the spirits was over who could finish their enemy first. With that condition, they won the competition by a huge margin.
The three left to the other side to check their battle. It took them less than a minute to reach the second battlefield. They flew high enough to be able to see the two different battlefields.
Skelly1, who had become Duke Skeleton, became an even more proficient strategist. The Skeleton Army managed to box this second faction’s army for some reason. That was weird because this army should be able to see a large number of skeletons moving closer to them.
The air was not safe, certainly not the safest area under the watch of Keeper the Infernal Gunslinger and Skelly3 the Abyssal Archmage. Keeper shot whoever came up to the air, and Skelly3 shot down whoever flew with his black thunder.
As usual, the leader of the Skelly Family, Kaiser, enjoyed himself by rushing through the army and heading toward the enemy’s commander.
Tang Shaoyang was relieved to see Kaiser fight toe to toe with five God Ranks. Kaiser held his ground even though five God Ranks were on him. That should be able to show his people what they needed to see.
The second battlefield where the spirits were. Tang Shaoyang expected a chaotic battle, but then it was more tamed than usual. Jovrick, Ruben, Gianni, Nikolas, and Mathias were moving in a different group, leading the Calamity Spirits.
They moved strategically, two groups acting as a strike group that directly attacked the enemy’s army while the three groups flanked the enemy. They would chase those who tried to flee from the battlefield.
The surprise came from Vandir, who seemed to summon a lot of his undead, including Undead Tang Shaoyang with the new modification. The Undead Tang Shaoyang looked more proficient with his Space Elemental Power than the real Tang Shaoyang.
The land was devastated because of Vandir’s Death Energy. It killed the land and also the surrounding area, killing the nature around them. That showed how Vandir took this little competition seriously. It seemed Kaiser was right about the spirits no longer underestimating the Skelly Family.
The two battlefields showed the dominance of his Skelly Family and his spirits. While the Skeleton Army was generally weaker than their enemy, they outnumbered their enemy by many. It was just a matter of time until these two forces would be rooted out.
