Chapter 2168: Soul Palace (2)

Tang Shaoyang agreed if he was compared to the other cultivators. They had to start it with a blank space and created the land themselves. He had them all from the start; what he needed right now was to modify and add something to it. His task was to make his Soul Palace alive.

That was when he realized that the instruction in the Heavenly Scripture was meant for someone with a blank Soul Space. If that was the case, then it made sense that some of it sounded more complicated than he thought.

Tang Shaoyang returned to the Soul Palace. This time he didn’t go to the snowy region, but to the sea. He was hesitating about creating the living things, but he no longer hesitated after having a discussion with Han Taiyang.

He trusted Han Taiyang, not because he trusted his spirit cultivator, but because of their contract. The contract prevented Han Taiyang from harming his master. Even if Han Taiyang had the intention or malice toward his master, he would die because of the contract.

Tang Shaoyang had learned his lesson after what happened with Artrus, who almost stole his body. That was why he put an additional clause to prevent the same incident. Since the contract was not triggered, it meant Han Taiyang didn’t have the intention to harm him.

He was above sea, closing his eyes as he recalled the Heavenly Soul Sutra. He understood a little better why Soul Cultivation was important. It was to keep him safe from the cultivator who focused on Soul Cultivation. A strong soul would keep him safe from those people.

He thought the Heavenly Soul Sutra was complicated when it came to creating a living thing, but it was much simpler than he thought. He first needed to create the image of what he wanted to create. Then he put his intent into his image. That was when his Heavenly Energy in his dantian was pulled to create the creature in his image.

The first creature he created was a small crustacean, a Krill. Even though Han Taiyang told him not to worry about the food, he felt it would be good to create things in order. Krill was on most of the fish’s diet, which was the reason why he chose Krill first.

A shrimp-like creature, with the understanding that they were the weakest in the food chain, was what the image he had in mind as he put it with an intent. Then a krill formed in the sea, one single krill.

Tang Shaoyang still had a concern about a living thing in his Soul Palace. That was why he only created one krill. For some reason, he looked around him, trying to find that tiny single krill in the sea. He thought he could find a single krill in this vast area, but he could not.

He closed his eyes and tried to sense it. The moment he sensed it, he teleported to the location. He found the creature he created, but there was something wrong with it. It was not dying, in fact, it was healthy and quick, maybe too quick for a prey creature.

It was moving so fast that it left a golden strike behind. It was skipping on the sea surface. That was right, a golden strike because the krill was golden, different from the image he had in mind.

The krill in his head was a small transparent creature, not a creature with a golden carapace. Then he noticed more details that were also different from the image in his head. It had more legs than the one he imagined, twenty swimming legs, which was the reason why it moved so fast.

The size was also wrong. The creature he imagined was around three to five centimeters, but this one was around thirteen centimeters long. At this point, it was more like a shrimp than a krill.

"Maybe because my image lacks the details..."

That was his conclusion, lack of details, and the Heavenly Energy or his Soul Palace added those details. Curious, he added nine more krills. After creating one, it was easier to second one. Nine more krills popped around that one krill.

He was curious about the interaction between them, but then the lone krill seemed happy to find more of its kind. Ten golden striking lines moved around on the sea surface, seemingly excited.

He tried to observe them a little bit more to ensure nothing weird happened. They swam together, exploring the sea.

Han Taiyang told him not to worry about the ideal environment for the creature or food, but Tang Shaoyang could not get past it. He added coral to the seabed, focusing more on the shallow side. He knew the coral was important for the small fish.

Again, the coral that he created was totally different than what he imagined. Not just the shape, but also the size and the color. His sea started to look pleasing in the eyes. He thought of covering the edge of his sea that bordered the grass field region with the coral reef, creating a great wall reef.

He didn’t know in detail how coral benefited the fish, but he knew the coral was an important habitat for certain small fish. After krill, he thought of making those small fish. That was why he wanted to make this great wall reef.

However, he could not finish his project because he was running out of internal energy. The Heavenly Energy inside his dantian was not enough to finish the project in his mind.

He could only finish around eight or maybe nine kilometers of the Great Wall of the Reef. Of course, internal energy was not an issue for him as he quickly converted the Chaos Energy into Heavenly Energy. Learning the Nine Heavenly Gates was truly convenient when he encountered this kind of problem.

The Heavenly Scripture didn’t include the way to convert foreign energy into Heavenly Energy. That technique was only in the Nine Heavenly Gate scroll. He figured out that the technique was created by the system so that a non-cultivator could use the technique.

He now used this technique to help him with his actual cultivation, greatly helping him instead of taking the other alternative, taking in something like a pill that increased his internal energy or stuff. This method was better because he could control how much he needed, and he skipped a process where he had to absorb the pill as well.

Instead of continuing with his great reef project, Tang Shaoyang decided to add a kelp forest instead. He only had one type of image in his head, but he ended up creating a different type of kelps. Again, the creation process was still a mystery to him.

He didn’t know the exact name, but one of them looked like a tree that grew under the water. He remembered how people used this type of kelp as a whip when it was found on the shore. There were a bunch of kelps as well, the short ones that grew on the sea floor.

He knew they were different because of the color. There was an orange one, there was a red one, and there was a yellow one, there was one with dark green, and more. A small part of his sea started to look like a proper ecosystem.
