Chapter 2194: Mission Accomplished (1)
Redmond let out a chuckle as he found the genuine surprise on Tang Shaoyang’s face. This might be the first time someone like him has been forgotten, especially by an Administrator. He was not just one of the most wanted men in the God Realm, but he was also a former Executive Administrator.
Tang Shaoyang finally found out why he had a sense of familiarity with this cloaked figure. Not only did he experience it once, but it almost killed him. That must be why.
"Redmond?" But there was one thing that felt wrong, the name. He didn’t remember the name of the Corrupted Immortal Emperor, but he was certain it was not Redmond, "Are you—"
"It’s my current name."
Tang Shaoyang thought this person might be the Corrupted Immortal Emperor’s disciple who assumed his master’s decision. But it seemed he had just changed his name.
"If you want my answer to your offer, my answer is still the same. I have no interest in ruling the universe."
There was no reason for him to join the Void Cult. Even if he was in desperate need of help, he would not go for the Void Cult. Once he was associated with the Void Cult, he could no longer live in the God Realm or even on Earth. The Administrator would hunt him and his family down.
"Get out of my way and let me finish my job, old man. Unless you want to continue our fight!"
He replaced the battle axe with the Azure Dragon Blade and was about to chase Alderman to the ship. However, Redmond appeared above him with a fish covered with a swirling Void Energy.
He swung his sword upward and met with the fist. He met with a crushing force and was pushed down further.
"I don’t want to continue our fight. Arion and Clementine will come if I stay too long here with you. It’s not the time to fight them yet!"
"And again, don’t give me the answer too soon, Tang. Alderman is my main objective for now, so I will give you more time to consider the offer."
Redmond’s figure disappeared, returning to the ship. But his voice still echoed in the air.
"The offer still stands for you, Tang. Come to me if you change your mind! No, I believe you will come to me later. I will wait for you!"
Tang Shaoyang looked at his hand for a moment, trembling from blocking that fist alone. He was not expecting such a strong force behind the fist. Not only could his sword not cut that fist, but he was being overpowered. He could make an excuse that Redmond was using a skill while he didn’t, but that showcased that Redmond might have more attributes than he did.
He looked up, and half of the hull had already entered the portal. The ship was ready to leave, and he was not going to let his prey get snatched before his eyes.
With a Blink, he boarded the ship, appearing in the middle of the crew. That caught everyone off guard. Not because he got on board, but because he managed to bypass the protection barrier on the ship.
Tang Shaoyang gave a quick scan of the surroundings. Redmond was standing at the figurehead of the ship, next to Alderman. Then the original crews were around him; fifteen of them were close to him.
He was surrounded, and he believed all these people were God Rank. On top of that, the flying ship was about to depart as well. He didn’t have enough time to bypass all of them and killed Alderman. He must have closed the portal forcefully and stopped them from leaving.
"Maintain the portal properly! He also knows Space Manipulation!" Redmond warned the Phantom Rover’s crews.
The response to the warning was laughter from the deck, "No one could stop our portal. You don’t need to worry, mysterious guy!"
She sounded confident that the portal was indestructible. Of course, her confidence was not groundless, as no one was able to stop the portal to this day. That was the reason why they could always flee from the strong pursuers.
Tang Shaoyang attempted to interfere with the portal with his Chaos Energy. To his surprise, he encountered a resistance, great resistance. He tried to close the portal, but he couldn’t. Something stronger was stopping him from destroying the portal.
"It’s useless! You can’t interfere with my portal!" The woman on the deck seemed to feel the interference, but she was being complacent because that proved her portal was indestructible.
Tang Shaoyang didn’t give up. If he could not stop the portal, he would call someone who could do the job for him.
’Zara!’
He didn’t summon Zara, but used Spirit Integration with her instead. Two pairs of black feather wings popped out on his back. His stats and his mastery over the Space and Shadow greatly increased, but he was nowhere close to Zara. He let Zara take over his body for a moment, letting her disrupt the portal.
At the same time, half of the ship had already entered the portal. He thought they didn’t have enough time to stop the portal before the ship zipped out, but he was wrong.
Zara created a portal below Alderman. It was so quick that even Redmond failed to react. He tried to catch Alderman, but Alderman had already gone through the portal and fell behind him.
Then Zara closed the portal, and there was no more resistance from it as it quickly closed. Tang Shaoyang and Redmond exchanged a glance for a moment.
Redmond pulled off his cloak, revealing a surprised expression. He tried to do something, but it was too late. The portal was closing in, leaving a small space for them to see each other for the last time.
Redmond tried to get back to the other side, but the portal was closed. That was the last exchange between Tang Shaoyang and Redmond as the flying ship’s hull was split apart by the closing portal. The ship lost its balance and started to glide down.
The crew on board lost their balance as it caught them off guard that the portal was closing in. At the same time, the flying ship was falling at extreme speed. It was timed to take off now, but it lost the hull, which caused a change of direction, which was down to the ground.
Within less than three seconds, the flying ship crashed to the ground and exploded.
