Chapter 2255: Soul Palace Expansion

Chapter 2255: Soul Palace Expansion

"Do you feel it, Master?" The Wise asked, the question was vague, and there was a hint of pride and smugness in the tone.

Tang Shaoyang knew what the dragon asked about: the progress of his Soul Palace and how it affected the cultivation as a whole. The Soul Palace didn’t just strengthen his soul, but there was more. It generated energy on top of purifying his energy further.

The Wise told him that living creatures were as important for the Soul Palace as the nature here. It was proven to be true as his cultivation energy was actually slowly catching up to his Chaos Energy. If he had to compare, his Chaos Energy was slightly stronger, but not by far. On top, his cultivation energy had the hint of Chaos Energy as well.

Another effect was that his Soul Palace kept expanding. His current Soul Palace was ten times bigger than when he first entered the Soul Palace.

The Wise mentioned in his previous entry that it used half of the generated energy to expand the Soul Palace, while the remaining half was used to temper his dantian, meridian, and physical body.

The Heavenly Scripture didn’t mention anything about something like this. It meant it was his unique constitution that allowed him to do such a thing. Of course, this dragon was inside his body as well.

What was even more amazing was that the dragon actually could peek into his memory. The Wise created new creatures relying on his memory, whether it was animals, beasts, structures, or more.

That was how the floating island had a place with its own statue. The Wise added five more floating islands, one of which had Tang Shaoyang’s statue as well. Just like the dragon, he was revered as a God in this place. That was how the Soul Palace kept growing under The Wise’s guidance.

Tang Shaoyang closed his eyes and focused on the sea, which brimmed with life. He found all kinds of fish, from small to big to giant fish. Not just animals, but also sea beasts.

Different from his initial Soul Palace, it was a proper ecosystem where the bigger fish eat the smaller fish. The same with humans. They hunted the animals and beasts for food, and the beasts would attack humans for food as well.

The dying beast, animal, or any living being was what generated energy. When the land was cultivated, it purified the energy. There was one thing that was prohibited by the Wise: a war between humans. War was banned, and the one who tried to rise in rebellion or to issue a war would be purged by The Wise himself.

That was what The Wise called corrupted souls, the thing that would corrupt the Soul Palace. What surprised him was that the Wise adopted the adventurer system instead of the sect’s system in the Soul Palace. There was no private force between villages or cities, but there was an adventurer who would combat the beasts or even the corrupted.

That was right, the Wise sometimes let the people of the Soul Palace combat the corrupted. In exchange, the Wise would reward whoever defeated the corrupt with extra energy. As the Wise often made an appearance and were revered as a God. The people built a temple for him.

Tang Shaoyang was amazed by how advanced his Soul Palace was. He didn’t know how the Soul Palace should grow, but he benefited from this growth.

He checked the south, the chaotic region. The region with the least expansion. The unstable space that folded inward and outward. The floors were made of void and shadow. The Wise still didn’t know what to do with the region, as he could not feel any life in that region.

Then he shifted toward the lava region to the east. This region was where the fire-related beast resided. He already found five different kinds of lizards. He would say the Wise mutated the animal to fit to live in that region.

He found a beast exactly one-to-one with a crocodile. The difference was that its leather was red, resistant to the lava. Its tail was on fire, and it could breathe fire. Snakes, fish, and even birds could be found there. They had been adjusted to the environment so that they could take a bath inside the lava. The same with the north, but it was creatures that could endure the cold there.

It was just that he could not find something new in the north and east. He noticed one or two new creatures in the sea, but not in these two regions.

He was about to ask The Wise about the improvement since his last visit, but he quickly found out what was new. He discovered three more floating islands.

The floating island where he was right was the original floating island where The Wise built a castle for himself. Then the second floating island was added much earlier, so the dragon could erect its own statue there. He finally sensed the three new floating islands, and he was surprised to find Fallen Angel dwelling on them.

The Wise took inspiration from his wife, Zara. Even though Zara was no longer a Fallen Angel, she still looked like one. It seemed it was still in a probation period, as only three families were living there.

The fourth island was occupied by the Draconic Race. Also taking inspiration from one of his spirits, Maldros the Stormbringer. However, the Wise used himself as the model for this Draconic Race. There were only two of them, a female and a male.

The fifth island was something that could be found in fantasy horror stuff. While it was the smallest floating island among the five, it was filled with brim plants and trees, and they were alive.

That was right, those trees and plants were alive. They had eyes, mouths, and even some of them had flesh. He blinked his eyes to ensure that he was not seeing things, but he didn’t.

If the tree didn’t have a mouth or eyes, the fruit that grew on it did. It screamed, it cried, and it laughed. It was creepy even by his standards.

Tang Shaoyang turned toward the dragon with a frown, "What are you doing with the fifth island?"

He expected the dragon to admit it as a mistake.

"Oh, that place... It’s a place for me to experiment with new creatures. I haven’t really found anything that fits the South region. I am thinking of man-eating plants, but I haven’t really found something that fits that place."

Tang Shaoyang could not understand what was in The Wise’s mind to come up with such an idea. The place itself was a horror already, yet the dragon wanted to put more horrors into the region.
