Chapter 2284: Stygian Wither Clan’s Trouble

Krazon felt something different from the Executive Administrator. Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang was colder than when he first extended the invitation to visit the Dragon Realm. He could tell that Tang Shaoyang saw the offer positively, yet he was somehow indifferent now.

He even purposely set the meeting spot in the Aera City, a dungeon city under the Stygian Wither Clan’s management. The city was in the top one thousand prosperous cities in the God Realm. That was something that his clan was proud of. They didn’t just develop the city, but they preserved it under them.

He expected excitement; maybe he could bring Tang Shaoyang to dive one of the most rewarding dungeons before visiting the Dragon Realm. That was to gain an advantage for what would come. The Elder had agreed to submit to the Tang Empire, but they wanted a better position, a higher standing among the Tang Empire.

That duty fell on Krazon’s hands, but he failed to show one of the clan’s good assets to their potential master.

Krazon agreed with the Elders of his clan. A clan with a team of veteran Administrators like them should be put in a high status if they joined an empire. They wanted to remain as a clan with authority in the Tang Empire.

As for why the clan wanted to join an outside force. It was because they were slowly getting driven out of the Dragon Realm. The Stygian Wither Clan might be Nirdarth’s descendant, one of the strongest dragons in the Dragon Realm. However, their standing was not as strong as the other direct descendants from the four Dragon Guardians.

Nirdarth was indifferent to his descendants, not getting involved in the affairs of the clans. The name of Nirdarth was quite weak to be a deterrent, and the other clans were trying to drive them out to take their territory.

They were getting attacked by more than ten clans in the last five years. It took a toll on them to survive the ordeal. The price to defend and survive was massive. They kept getting cornered, and this was why the Stygian Wither Clan wanted to attach themselves to Tang Shaoyang.

Initially, the Elder just wanted cooperation. They needed resources to recoup their loss after years of struggling. They needed one of the dimensional pockets from the God Realm Champion.

The clan could leverage the dimensional pocket for more resources to prolong their survivability against their enemy. They could use it to buy an alliance to help them survive. As a last resort, they could use that dimensional pocket to hire mercenaries.

Krazon had a better idea: to submit to the Tang Empire. They could get the Tang Empire’s protection with just loyalty. The protection would last long, as long as they didn’t do something stupid like betraying the Tang Empire.

It was more like a gamble for choosing the Tang Empire, but Krazon convinced the Elders. Executive Administrator Arion and Executive Administrator Clementine were on Tang Shaoyang’s side; they could possibly gain their protection. Those two connections made them consider attaching themselves to the Tang Empire.

Why the Tang Empire? It is because they wanted to be of a high status. The Tang Empire was still a new faction in the God Realm even though the emperor was an Executive Administrator.

They believed they could start in a higher status in the Tang Empire than joining other established factions. The Tang Empire was considered a new faction even though they had an Executive Administrator as the Emperor.

That was the main selling point of the Tang Empire. If Tang Shaoyang survived the ordeal against the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order, then the Tang Empire was established as one of the major powers in the God Realm.

Krazon emphasized how important it was to join the Tang Empire before the faction reached that point. While the Elders’ argument was split, the majority of them favored his idea. That was why they went with the idea of joining the Tang Empire, and he was tasked to smooth out the talk.

’It seems I have failed to smooth out the talk when Sir Tang Shaoyang doesn’t have interest in the city.’

Krazon’s heart was quite heavy as things didn’t go as he planned. It didn’t really screw their plan, as he still believed there was no reason for the Tang Empire to decline their proposal.

The Stygian Wither Clan needed the Executive Administrator’s name as their protection, and the Tang Empire needed them for the upcoming battle against the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance. It was a mutual bond with each party benefiting from each other.

"Then let’s head to the Dragon Realm right away, Sir."

Krazon led Tang Shaoyang through the crowded street. They were closest to the Portal Gate with a big open clearing space. It was the area where the stalls were allowed. A lot of people opened stalls, trying to sell what they gained from the dungeon.

There was no really strict rule. Anyone could open the stall. A permit was not needed, as long as they didn’t fight inside the city; the spot was first come, first served.

The portal gate to the Dragon Realm was exclusive. The clan put it in the most secretive spot. So yeah, the Dragon Realm could not be accessed from the public portal gate.

The portal was placed under the administrative building, underground, with tight security. Krazon purposely picked the most prosperous district where the big merchants opened their shops. They passed through the shop with rare God Rank equipment displayed on the window.

He secretly observed Sir Tang Shaoyang’s expression, but he didn’t even take a glance at any of them. Sir Tang Shaoyang only reacted once. It was when they passed the Cladeos Emporium’s shop. The weird thing was that Sir Tang Shaoyang didn’t look at the displayed item, but at the shop’s sign.

’Do they have a grievance? Or maybe they have a connection?’

That show failed to impress the Executive Administrator. Sir Tang Shaoyang didn’t really react in any way until they arrived at their destination.

The clan purposely put tighter security in place for the Executive Administrator’s visit. A lot of dragonkin from his clan were here. Even though he told them not to stare, they kept secretly glancing toward Tang Shaoyang. They were assessing the new Executive Administrator.

They went to the third floor of the building, then took a portal gate from there, going to an underground building that only connected through the portal gate. That was when they arrived at the actual portal gate to the Dragon Realm.

"The Dragon Realm is behind this portal, Sir."
