Chapter 2312: Doombringer’s Decree (1)
Chapter 2312: Doombringer’s Decree (1)
Orlean walked out of the black miasma with grace, proving his noble origin. His eyes were still black, but his pupils’ color changed to gold. There was a trace of a six-headed star in his pupils.
He walked with the composure of royalty; his back was straight, and his shoulders relaxed. Each of his steps was steady and carried the dignity of a King. He stopped three meters away from Tang Shaoyang and bowed.
"This subject is grateful for the opportunity, Your Majesty. I will use my newly gained power to crush your enemies! I will show them what it means to be your enemies!"
Tang Shaoyang was honestly curious how strong his spirits had become. There were still differences even if they were in the same Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit. He was even more curious about what kind of power Orlean had gotten from advancement.
"Can you tell me..."
"Nope, not now. If you are curious about his power, you can discuss it with him later in the Spirit world. Or Orlean can show us later in the abandoned world, but not now!"
Tang Shaoyang had to stop the curious Vandir. The skeleton seemed to have a great interest in that black miasma as well as the crown.
That was what Tang Shaoyang meant: he could not read what was in Vandir’s head. The skeleton became less excited when he heard Orlean’s new title. Now that he had inspected the black miasma, the skeleton got excited again. It was really hard to read Vandir’s mind.
Now Tang Shaoyang looked at the crown; it looked even more ominous than it had initially. What he was curious about was whether the crown was part of Orlean or it was equipment for a spirit.
But since he stopped Vandir from asking Orlean, he could not ask Orlean either, or else the skeleton would make a fuss about it. He reminded himself to ask Orlean later.
"I would like to stabilize and adjust to my new power too. It’s better for me to return to the Spirit World before it ruins Your Majesty’s land."
Sure enough, the wet ground started to turn black. Most likely affected by Orlean’s black miasma. It was still unknown what kind of property the black miasma had. It was certainly not Void Energy or Death Energy, most likely a potent Demonic Energy.
On top, Orlean seemed to receive Tang Shaoyang’s cue and decided to go back before things got complicated with Vandir.
"Go ahead."
Orlean disappeared, returning to the Spirit World. The black miasma was gone along with the Demon God King. The black soil slowly returned to its normal state.
"Next?" Tang Shaoyang glanced at Zara.
"Maldros..." She answered, but her answer cut off halfway as a powerful burst of energy appeared out of nowhere from above. It was then followed by a frost aura, spreading out and freezing the land.
Tang Shaoyang subconsciously formed a barrier above him. A barrier made of Chaos Energy. That burst of powerful energy was so sudden that he thought they were under attack.
Zara and Vandir instantly appeared next to him. They were prepared for a fight until they recognized the energy. It was a familiar energy, but more powerful than usual.
Avyn returned from her Domain, carrying Doombringer in her mouth. She was holding Doombringer by his neck in her mouth. She spat the Primal Behemoth to the ground.
Doombringer no longer had the same arrogance. Traces of Eternal Frost could be found on all parts of his body. All his horns broke, and he lost half of his tail. The bleeding was stopped by the frost, fortunately.
On top of that, he lost his front limb, the new hands curling up on the ground. Doombringer let out a whimper, a pathetic whimper that he never heard from him before.
"What do you have to say, you fool!?" Avyn’s voice boomed, carrying absolute authority.
"I-I am wrong, Ma-Master..." Doombringer’s voice stammered and quivered, his teeth chattering because of the cold.
"Pl-please... F-forgive me... I-I have... learned my lesson... Th-this impudent beast... w-will follow you with... absolute obedience from now on..."
Tang Shaoyang, Zara, and Vandir were surprised that Doombringer could say those words. The Behemoth was the type that would not bow his head or even apologize. He was the type to avoid things when things didn’t go in his favor, but Avyn made him like this.
"P-please forgive me... Master... P-please don’t sacrifice me... Pl-please give... me one more... chance..."
Tang Shaoyang chuckled, looking up at Avyn. The latter was staring at Behemoth, but then she noticed his gaze. She looked up and smiled at him.
She had changed; ever since their visit to the Dragon Realm, she truly changed. The visit to the Dragon Realm seemed to awaken her violent side. That must be the case for Avyn to transform Doombringer like this.
"What do you think?" Tang Shaoyang asked Zara and Vandir instead of responding to Doombringer’s plea.
He didn’t mind giving Doombringer a second chance, or maybe this was technically his third chance. Once Doombringer defied him. He beat and threatened Doombringer for the beast to listen. He was ready to give the Atramendos a third chance. As Zara said, it would be a waste to sacrifice Doombringer.
However, he was not going to make it easy for Doombringer. This Behemoth deserved even more fear, especially from Vandir. As if he had received his signal, Vandir responded in an excited tone.
"Give him to me! I have several ideas that I can try on him, Boss. Give him to me!" Vandir responded in such a fervent tone. He demanded it, and he looked serious, not trying to play along with Tang Shaoyang.
Tang Shaoyang looked at Vandir, then he looked at Doombringer. Whether Vandir was being serious or not, it worked in his favor. He could see Doombringer’s body quivering. He was clearly afraid of Vandir as well.
"That actually works too. Why don’t you let Vandir work on him as a punishment, Dear?" Avyn agreed to that idea as well. "That’s actually better than sacrificing him. Especially after we fed him so much material."
