Chapter 2313: Doombringer’s Decree (2)

Tang Shaoyang grinned, playing along with Vandir and Avyn. He slowly turned toward Doombringer.

Doombringer’s body quivered as he tried to shake his head. No one wanted to be Vandir’s subject for an experiment. Certainly not the prideful Doombringer.

"Let’s give him another chance," Zara said, joining the conversation. "One last chance! If he doesn’t change, then we can hand him over to Vandir or sacrifice him."

Doombringer looked hopeful; his gaze toward Zara softened. He finally found his angel, though Zara was the Goddess of Death.

"No! Give him to me! He needs to be punished, or he would never learn from his mistake. We need a tangible punishment, and my experiment is the right punishment," Vandir’s orb eyes glowered, staring into Doombringer in excitement.

"What if you break him? It’s not like you can work on him since he is a spirit. The damage you do to him will be healed or undone since he is a spirit," Zara spoke up for Doombringer, gaining the Atramendos’ affection.

"That’s even better! I can experiment on him endlessly and maybe find more useful information for my future undead. Give him to me, Boss!"

It was back and forth between Zara and Vandir. Avyn seemed to catch on to what Zara tried to do, and she could also tell that Vandir was serious about turning Doombringer into his experiment subject. She watched the show in amusement, though it was more like an evil smile in Doombringer’s eyes.

"Avyn already broke half of his mind. Look at him, begging and groveling on the ground while asking forgiveness. Fighting Avyn should be enough for punishment," Zara’s acting was eleven out of ten. Her voice was sincere, and her expression was earnest as she fought for Doombringer.

She then turned toward Tang Shaoyang. "Let’s stop this pointless argument. The decision is in your hands, Dear. Make the decision, but I hope you can be forgiving one last time."

Vandir snapped toward Tang Shaoyang, staring at his boss with a hopeful gaze as the orb inside his socket flickered gently. At the same time, Vandir was sending a telepathic message to Tang Shaoyang, asking for Doombringer.

Tang Shaoyang was no longer playing around. That should be enough for Doombringer to know that he was seriously giving him to Vandir, but he was not going to.

He had a solemn look, staring Doombringer in the eyes. "One last chance, Doombringer. This will be the last time that I will tolerate your transgression. There would be no fourth chance. This is the last, understand?"

"Y-yes..." Doombringer’s teeth clinked several times as he tried to answer quickly, "Y-yes... Th-this will be... last time... I will listen... to your command with... absolute obedience... Thank you... Master... I will not betray... your trust ever... again..."

Tang Shaoyang waved his hand, "That’s enough. You can go back!"

He recalled the pitiful Doombringer back to the Spirit World. That state showed how Avyn could be scarier than Tang Shaoyang. She didn’t hold back since she was aware that the Spirit could not die.

Not that Tang Shaoyang thought about it; why couldn’t Doombringer regenerate? Doombringer was equal to God Rank, the strong God Rank. The Behemoth was supposed to have super high Vitality and super regeneration considering his race. Yet, the wound Avyn inflicted was not regenerating.

Avyn returned to his human form and breathed out in satisfaction. The battle against the Doombringer seemed to help her a lot to relieve the pent-up frustration in her chest.

"What did you do to him? Why can’t he regenerate?" Tang Shaoyang finally asked.

"He can’t regenerate, obviously, because of her frost aura. How is he supposed to regenerate when the wound is frozen?" Vandir answered the question instead of Avyn.

He looked Tang Shaoyang in the eyes. "Why don’t you give him to me, Boss? Doombringer might be my last missing piece to complete Undead Tang Shaoyang."

"As I said, this will be his last chance," Tang Shaoyang said, shrugging.

"You are too soft, Boss. Too soft..." Vandir shook his head in disappointment. It was more a disappointment that he didn’t get his Boss’ consent to do an experiment on Doombringer.

Tang Shaoyang clapped his hands. "Alright, next. I don’t want to spend all day debating you, Vandir. Who’s next? Is it Maldros?" He turned to Zara.

Zara mentioned Maldros’ name, but she didn’t manage to finish her words as Avyn returned from her domain with the broken Doombringer.

"It’s my turn already?" Avyn looked back and forth between Vandir and Zara.

"The next one is the seventh advancement, including Doombringer. Radiance has advanced to the Pinnacle Rank, but he doesn’t really bring anything exciting aside from having different types of snow now. The next turn is supposed to be her, but she seems to be hesitating after what happened to Feera," Vandir explained, truly more chatty than usual.

"What happened to Feera?" Avyn quickly asked; the concern in her voice was obvious. She looked at Tang Shaoyang, asking for an explanation.

"Nothing to be worried about..." Tang Shaoyang didn’t finish his words; Zara raised her hands, stopping Tang Shaoyang. She wanted to explain what happened herself.

Avyn nodded understandingly, looking quite concerned. She wanted to say something; maybe she knew something about the Abyss from her ancestor’s memory, but she hesitated to talk about it since Feera might overhear it.

[Tell Avyn not to worry about my situation. I can handle the voice fine once I am inside the Spirit World.]

It seemed his thoughts leaked out, and Feera might read what was in his mind.

Tang Shaoyang smiled and conveyed Feera’s words, word for word. That eased Avyn a little bit, but it was obvious that she was still concerned about something.

"You can talk with Feera privately later inside. If you keep that face, you will only make her worry."

Avyn touched her face. "Am I really that easy to read?"

"Lately, yes, but I like this way better. It will be easier for me to read your mood." Tang Shaoyang honestly liked Avyn to be more expressive.

"Next is Maldros; it is." He then proceeded to summon Maldros.
