Chapter 841: The Capital Of Magic I

Chapter 841: The Capital Of Magic I

Morning had not yet fully arrived.

The faint light of the sun was just rising from behind the horizon, keeping the sky suspended between the darkness of night and the brightness of day.

In one of the rooms of the Church of Eternity, Daniel quietly opened his eyes. His hours-long meditation had come to an end.

His mind was completely clear. No fatigue remained, no confusion, no intrusive thoughts. Only a deep calm flowed through his being.

He sat motionless on the bed for a few seconds, then his gaze fell outside the window. The holy city was slowly waking up.

The sound of church bells, the movement of believers on the stone streets, and the golden light of the sun shining on the city’s white domes.

This city, though young in its new identity, had adapted well to it, growing more alive day by day.

But today, his destination was elsewhere: the Central Magic Tower.

Daniel slowly rose from his spot. In his mind, last night’s conversation with Serys replayed. The girl had almost lost hope.

And honestly, if it were anyone else, they would probably be right. When ninety-five percent of an organization stands behind your rival, the outcome is usually already decided.

Changing such a result under normal circumstances is impossible, especially considering there was only about two weeks left.

But fortunately for Serys, she was not alone.

A faint smile settled on Daniel’s lips. Then he raised his hand. The space before him slowly twisted. Layers of reality folded over each other, as if the world had pushed aside a piece of itself.

A dark, endless fissure appeared in the air.

The void.

Daniel glanced at the badge in his hand. He didn’t know the exact coordinates of the tower, but with the help of this badge, tracking it wouldn’t be difficult for him.

At his current level of power, finding an island in the middle of an ocean was practically a trivial task.

The next moment, he stepped forward and disappeared into the fissure.

The world around him faded.

Then it took shape again. When he emerged from the void, the salty smell of the sea was the first thing he felt. A powerful wind swept across the ocean.

It moved his clothes, stirred his hair.

Daniel stood at a very high altitude. Beneath his feet, an endless ocean stretched out.

And right in the middle of it lay a massive island.

His eyes narrowed slightly. Even he took a few seconds to take in the view. The island was larger than he had imagined.

Much larger.

At its center, a gigantic tower rose like a celestial pillar into the clouds, as if its builders had never intended to accept natural limitations.

But the main tower was not the only structure there.

Dozens of smaller towers surrounded it. Floating magical bridges stretched between them.

Rivers of mana flowed across the island, extending like glowing ribbons throughout.

In the sky, mages moved on flying devices. Summoned creatures could be seen. Magical ships traveled between floating platforms.

And thousands of people were active.

Students, professors, researchers, mages, nobles who had come to learn, and envoys from various nations.

The entire island looked more like an independent country than an organization.

“So this is the Central Magic Tower…” A quiet whisper escaped his lips.

This was the world’s capital of magic. The highest and most powerful magical organization in the world, considered one of the world’s superpowers.

And one of the world’s most ancient powers, with a history stretching back thousands of years.

Instead of entering the tower directly, he lowered his altitude. He could appear right at the tower’s heart right now, but there was no reason to do so.

Doing so would be troublesome and create many problems. For now, he didn’t want to become enemies with the entire Central Magic Tower from the start.

The process of making enemies should be step by step.

A few minutes later, he quietly landed on one of the official entry paths. A massive gate stood before him, with several magical circles floating around it.

Multiple guards were present, and a short line of visitors had formed for entry.

Daniel joined the line without hurry. Around him were various people.

A wealthy merchant, two young nobles, several visiting mages, and even representatives from different countries.

With a brief observation, it was clear that each was presenting different documents for entry. Some had official letters, and others, like him, had badges.

This showed that entry to the tower could not be bought with money.

After a few minutes, his turn came, and one of the guards looked at him.

“Entry document?”

Daniel pulled out the badge.

The guard took it indifferently at first, but a moment later, he frowned. His eyes fixed on the symbol.

He examined it once more, then again.

Daniel remained silent.

Finally, the guard raised his head.

“This badge is from Lady Serys?”

“Yes.”

“You are her guest?”

Daniel thought for a few moments.

“Something like that.” He then said.

The guard accepted his own interpretation. Apparently, Serys had become so isolated that receiving a guest was considered a strange occurrence.

He returned the badge.

“Your entry is confirmed.”

Daniel nodded and entered the island. The further he went, the more the strange atmosphere of the tower revealed itself.

Almost everywhere, Lioran’s name could be heard.

Students discussing the succession ceremony, professors analyzing the tower’s future, groups debating the tower’s internal politics.

But the conclusion of all the conversations was nearly the same.

Lioran.

The future leader.

The certain heir.

The next master of the tower.

Even on some buildings, banners and symbols could be seen openly supporting him, as if the succession ceremony was only being held for appearances.

“Is he the next leader of the tower or the god of the tower?” He mocked the images of Lioran on the buildings. This level of fame was ridiculous.

It was clear there was a hidden current and process behind it.

Daniel walked quietly, without drawing attention, but the more he saw, the better he understood why Serys was so desperate.

This wasn’t just support. This was complete dominance.

In one of the island’s large squares, he suddenly noticed a crowd.

A large number of mages had gathered. Several Archmages could be seen among them.

High-ranking professors, influential figures, and at their center stood a young man.

Silver hair, a calm face, and a controlled smile. His behavior screamed confidence.

He hadn’t seen him before, but with the huge crowd gathered and having heard him addressed several times, he understood who he was.

Lioran.

Daniel watched from a distance. Lioran was speaking with several professors. Those around him listened with respect. The atmosphere was as if he was already considered the tower’s leader.

Many new mages, nobles, and representatives of various world powers had also gathered around them, as if trying to curry favor.

But what Lioran didn’t know… was that at that very moment, the greatest threat of his life was standing a few dozen meters away.

Daniel only watched him for a few seconds, then continued on his way. The time for a meeting had not yet come, and he didn’t want to be noticed.

A few minutes later, he reached one of the island’s main squares. He sat on a bench, then took out a communication talisman.

He sent a short message.

“I’m inside the tower.”

A few seconds passed, then the reply came almost immediately.

“What?!”

A faint smile settled on Daniel’s lips. He had expected this reaction.

About ten minutes later, the sound of hurried footsteps could be heard through the crowd.

Daniel raised his head and saw a person weaving through the people. She wore the tower’s formal attire.

Her hair was slightly disheveled, and it was clear she had run almost the entire way.

Serys.

When she finally stood before Daniel, she stared at him for a few moments, as if still unsure she was actually seeing him. Her eyes widened slightly.

And then, in a tone mixed with disbelief and relief, she said:

“You really came…”
