Chapter 845: Beginning Of The Collapse
Chapter 845: Beginning Of The Collapse
A few minutes later.
Daniel and Serys were passing through the main tower accompanied by several Heavenly Mages. The further they went, the higher the level of formality.
Stronger guards, more magnificent architecture, and more complex magical auras. Until finally, they stopped before massive doors of white crystal.
The doors opened, and Serys unconsciously held her breath.
“This…”
The interior space looked more like a palace than a guest room. Ceilings dozens of meters high, columns of magical gold on both sides.
Massive windows offered a direct view of the ocean, and at the center of the room were royal tables and furniture.
Serys stared for a few moments. She knew this room, far too well. This was not for ordinary guests.
Even the tower’s professors were not allowed entry.
This place was only used for emperors, kings, leaders of legendary organizations, and very high-level global figures.
And now… Daniel had been brought here.
When the doors closed and the last Heavenly Mage left, Daniel waited a few moments.
Then he raised his hand. An invisible wave spread through the room. A protective layer. A layer that blocked not only sound but also spiritual perception.
He didn’t want anyone to spy on him, and fortunately, those fools hadn’t been able to realize just how powerful he truly was.
Among all those mages, only three or four had power equal to his, but stronger? There wasn’t even one among them.
After a few seconds, he nodded.
“Now we can talk.”
Serys looked at him for a few moments, then sighed deeply.
“I always knew you weren’t ordinary.” Her gaze fixed on Daniel.
“But I didn’t think you’d be this extraordinary.”
“They usually say that.” Daniel shrugged.
Serys was silent for a few seconds, then laughed strangely.
“That person was really you.”
“Yeah.”
“The one who completed the tablet one hundred percent.”
“Yeah.”
Serys felt something crack in her mind, then she ran her hand over her face in despair.
“This is how you were going to stop Lioran from becoming heir? By becoming the heir yourself?” She didn’t know whether to be happy or sad.
This way, Lioran might actually lose the chance for succession… but with this situation, even she herself could no longer become the heir.
But if she thought more about it, at least Lioran wouldn’t become the heir. For Serys, that alone was a victory.
Daniel paused.
“Though it’s not a bad idea… I don’t have the time.” He already had too many conflicts to deal with and didn’t have the time to manage another responsibility.
And if another responsibility was added? No, thank you.
Of course, that wasn’t his only reason. The Central Magic Tower had its own traditions. He was sure the tower wouldn’t let him become its leader so easily, especially since he wasn’t from this world.
And more importantly, the tower wanted someone whose loyalty was proven, and that didn’t apply to him.
“So what are you going to do?” Serys stared.
“Buy time. Until you become strong enough to defeat both me and Lioran in front of everyone.” This time, a very faint smile appeared on Daniel’s face.
Serys took a few seconds to process the sentence.
“Are you insane?! How am I supposed to defeat both you and Lioran?!” She then almost shouted.
Daniel thought for a few moments.
“You’re right. Defeating me isn’t logical.” Then he continued very seriously.
“You should settle for a draw with me.”
Serys stared at him for a few seconds, not knowing whether to laugh or be angry. But before she could say anything, Daniel reached out his hand.
“Come closer.”
Serys unconsciously stepped forward. Daniel’s hand rested on her forehead, and at that moment… the world seemed to explode for her.
Infinite information, infinite knowledge, infinite concepts flooded into her mind.
Transcendent Harmony.
Her eyes widened.
She immediately understood what this technique meant. Spiritual palace, the ability to cultivate all laws, the ability to remove the inherent limitations of most mages.
For someone like her, who cultivates the law of origin, this was practically a miracle.
But before she could even breathe, the second wave arrived.
Self-Transcendence skill.
And this time, she was truly shocked. Borrowing power from her future self. Using a power she had not yet obtained. The ability to temporarily surpass current limitations. The ability to use power one or two ranks higher.
Her body trembled.
But it still wasn’t over.
The third wave arrived.
And this time… she was even more shocked.
Archive of Thousand Laws.
Her mind entered an endless ocean. Laws, paths, concepts, understandings. As if the entire world had been compressed into the form of knowledge.
When it was all over, it took her a few minutes to breathe again.
Then she slowly sat on the nearest chair, her hands trembling slightly.
“This…” Her voice was dry.
“These three…” She now understood.
Each one alone could change the fate of a genius. But together… this was no longer a legacy. It was a complete divine path. A path that could lead a person to the peak of the world.
Her eyes slowly turned to Daniel, a gaze filled with disbelief, respect, and endless gratitude.
“Even if I serve you for the rest of my life… I could never repay this kindness.”
“I don’t have plans to hire a servant.” Daniel answered immediately.
Despite the immense shock, Serys laughed involuntarily, and that laugh made the heavy pressure on her heart lighten a little.
“Of course, the help isn’t free.” But Daniel continued.
Serys was neither his daughter nor his wife, so he had neither the duty nor the interest in helping her for free. Besides, none of the three things he had given her were insignificant.
Each one could turn even a pig into a top-tier genius.
“Whatever you want. I’ll give it my all.” Serys said seriously.
“When you become the tower’s leader, be a supporter of the Eternity religion.”
Serys was silent for a few seconds. The tower’s leader. Not “if,” not “maybe,” but “when.”
For the first time, she realized that Daniel had considered the outcome certain from a long time ago, as if he had never considered the possibility of failure.
Then she bowed her head quietly.
“Without a doubt. As long as I am the tower’s leader, the Central Magic Tower will be the Eternity religion’s greatest ally.” She had already heard about the Eternity religion.
Everyone had heard.
She didn’t know what connection this religion had to this man, but she would follow his request.
Daniel nodded with satisfaction.
“Good.”
“So is this enough to defeat Lioran?” Serys asked a few moments later.
Daniel walked slowly toward the window, looking at the flags flying across the tower.
At the symbols of support, at the popularity Lioran had built over the years.
Then he said:
“To defeat him? Yes. To become the tower’s leader? No.”
Serys frowned.
“What do you mean?”
Daniel didn’t take his gaze from the window.
“Power isn’t Lioran’s main problem.” Then he smiled very faintly. A smile that usually meant trouble for his enemies.
“It’s his credibility.”
A brief silence followed, and then…
“And fortunately…” His gaze fixed on Lioran’s flags.
“Credibility is something that can be destroyed.”
