Cheng Su exchanged a bag of sausages for a piece of cured meat. That night, she ate happily while Qi Taiguo watched with joy, almost putting the whole plate of meat into Cheng Su’s bowl.

Cheng Su was amused by his remark and pushed him, "What big cabbage?"

"Then it’s a little pig?"

"Go away!" Cheng Su glared at him and reminded, "Even though you’re just going for festival preparedness, be careful. The baby and I will be waiting for you to come back!"

"Okay!" Qi Taiguo kissed her, saying, "You take care too, I’ll be back soon."

Seeing Qi Taiguo off, Cheng Su took her bag and headed out, catching Mother Qi’s attention, "Where are you off to now?"

"Mom, I haven’t been to the factory for a few days. Since vacation’s coming, I’m going to take a look. You just rest at home!" Cheng Su said, "I’ll swing by the restaurant too later."

"Aren’t there people looking after things already? Why go there? It’s crowded, and it’s icy outside. What if you fall? Better not go!" Mother Qi disapproved.

"I’ll be careful!" Seeing her displeasure, Cheng Su hurried off.

"Mother-in-law, I could hear your advice from afar," Guiying said with a smile as she held her child on the way to the bathroom.

Mother Qi replied, "I tell you, women like you are good, staying at home obediently taking care of the family. Look, you’ve raised Cancan so strong."

Guiying smiled, "How can I compare with Sister-in-law Qi? She’s a college graduate and can earn money. Here in our compound, she stands out. You’re truly blessed, with a son as deputy battalion commander and a daughter-in-law who earns a lot of money."

Mother Qi felt pleased but said, "In the past, I didn’t care. Now with a child coming, of course, the child is important!"
