Cheng Su saw Qi Taiguo acting intimate without the slightest concern for her mother’s presence, and she couldn’t help but scold him: "What are you doing? My mom is still here!"

The child’s eyelids fluttered as if he wanted to open his eyes. Cheng Su exclaimed, "He’s awake!"

Qi Taiguo and the others quickly looked over, seeing him slowly open his eyes. Although his gaze was still unfocused, his eyes were large, like black grapes.

Mother Cheng said, "The eyes are beautiful, big eyes."

"Just like yours!" Qi Taiguo looked at Cheng Su and said.

Cheng Su’s eyes were quite large, too. Seeing her son’s dark, shiny eyes, she felt delighted and said, "Of course, he’s my son!"

Qi Taiguo laughed.

After chatting for a while, Cheng Su, who had just given birth and hadn’t yet fully recovered, felt extremely tired. Qi Taiguo quickly urged her to lie down and rest.

Mother Cheng agreed readily, more concerned about her daughter’s health than anyone else. She bustled back home.

During the lunch break, Hualing arrived. Qi Taiguo asked her to help look after things for a while, while he went to find a public phone to call back home with the good news.

The call was answered by Qi Jianguo, who was home on vacation. Hearing his elder brother’s happy news, he immediately shouted with joy.

"Dad, Mom, come quickly! Big brother called and said that sister-in-law gave birth to a big, healthy boy!"

The Qi family was in motion, everyone gathering eagerly, vying to get the news.

Listening over the phone, Qi Taiguo felt a wave of happiness wash over him.

"Taiguo, did your wife give birth? Is it a son?" Mother Qi, despite her mobility issues, managed to get to the phone first and asked anxiously.

"Yes, she started feeling pain at four, and by ten, she had given birth, six pounds and two ounces," Qi Taiguo replied.

"Oh, good, good. Our Qi family has an heir now. Is the child okay? Is your wife okay? Is your mother-in-law there taking care of her?" Mother Qi continued to ask.

"Everything’s fine. Mother-in-law has gone back to make soup. My wife is still asleep, and the child is very well, too. Mom, you all can rest easy!" Qi Taiguo said.

Mother Qi acknowledged with several "ohs," before Father Qi took the phone, asking the same questions and receiving the same answers. However, Father Qi added, "Your wife is a real hero for our Qi family, giving you a son. She’s been through a lot. Taiguo, you must take good care of your wife. During the confinement period, don’t just sit around like a boss; help her out so she can rest well."

Qi Taiguo agreed to everything, saying he still had to inform his father-in-law’s family and Cheng Su’s godfather’s family, then hung up the phone.
