Chapter 1531: Chapter 1532: My Son Is Brave

The couple returned home sweetly, and as they passed Song Cheng’s room, they heard a loud roar from Sister-in-law Song, which startled Cheng Su.

Listening again, it was Sister-in-law Song scolding the two children, and then the children started crying, followed by Song Cheng’s deep voice calmly criticizing, saying that the children are young and should be taught slowly, and questioning why she was shouting so loudly and all that.

Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo exchanged a glance and both shook their heads.

This family had just moved in a few days ago, and Sister-in-law Song’s booming voice was notorious. Not to mention Cheng Su and their neighbors living close by, but even those upstairs and downstairs could hear her roaring loudly.

Not only was her voice loud, but some nosy people said that when she was doing certain things, she would also shout to the heavens, making it quite awkward and embarrassing.

Song Cheng came out of the room and saw Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo, his face couldn’t help but feel heated, he nodded slightly, and went towards the kitchen.

Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo were also embarrassed, feeling caught eavesdropping, and hurried back to their own room.

Upon entering, they saw Mother Cheng holding Qi Xiaoqi walking back and forth in the living room.

Cheng Su walked forward and said, "What’s the matter, the little guy hasn’t slept yet?" reaching out to take him.

Mother Cheng, with a dark expression, said, "He had just closed his eyes, but with that shout next door, he woke up immediately, even shivered, it really hurts my heart!"

She was helping to look after her daughter during her confinement period and also helping to take care of her grandson, with all her affection. Seeing her little grandson being shocked like this, how could her heart not ache?

"Did he cry?" Cheng Su felt distressed hearing this; after all, Sister-in-law Song’s shout had startled herself, let alone the little child.

Mother Cheng, proud, said, "No, not really. Our little Xiao Qi is quite brave, just got startled without crying, just pouted a bit."

Cheng Su looked at her son and indeed saw him with his eyes open, no hint of tears, so she couldn’t help but praise, "My son is really something!"

Qi Taiguo also praised, "He’s my Qi Taiguo’s seed, brave!"

Cheng Su rolled her eyes at him, took her son into the room to nurse and coax him to sleep, saying to Mother Cheng, "Mom, you should go rest, I can manage him!"

Mother Cheng had been busy all day, taking care of the household, preparing meals, and doing laundry, even washing diapers, even though Qi Taiguo helped out with washing too, she felt for her son-in-law and mostly did it herself. Luckily she was quick and youthful, but she’s gotten older, so more rest is good.

"It’s fine, I’ll watch some TV and then sleep." Mother Cheng waved her hand; she now enjoyed watching a couple of episodes of TV dramas at night.

Cheng Su didn’t persuade her further, just held her son for feeding, while Qi Taiguo followed her in.

"That voice of Sister-in-law Song’s, I wonder if she has a loudspeaker in there. It’s lucky we have a boy; if it were a girl, she’d probably have been frightened and cried by now, not sure if we’d need to calm her!" Cheng Su was also frustrated.

"Even if it’s a girl, inheriting our courage, she wouldn’t be easily frightened either!" Qi Taiguo lay on the bed, propping his head with one hand, lazily watching her nurse.

Cheng Su berated him, "You always think your own child is the best!"

"Of course!"

Cheng Su replied with exasperation, and thinking of the full moon banquet soon, discussed it with him: "Now with many families moving into the compound, many rooms are occupied, you should stop using your position to rent a place here. When our family from back home, my dad, and father-in-law and mother-in-law arrive, if there are any other relatives, since it’ll be late after the banquet, perhaps we can book some rooms at the guest house for a couple of nights!"

Her arrangements didn’t go ignored by Qi Taiguo, and the two of them carefully planned things out, then went to sleep.
