She’s grown quite a bit, girls love to dress up, and it’s rare for her to have such motivation to earn some pocket money. Plus, the work at the fast food place is all about quick skills, so Qi Fenglian and Cheng Su discussed it and decided to let her work for a month, paying her wages.

"I came to have a look." Cheng Su held her hand and walked in, asking, "How’s the work? Doing okay?"

"It’s great, pretty simple tasks, not too tiring, and I can handle it. Auntie, are you doing well? Is my cousin Xiao Qi being good?" Xiao Yun kindly offered her a cup of water.

Cheng Su felt warm inside, saying, "Not bad, working a few days and you’ve become considerate!"

Qi Fenglian heard the noise and came out from the kitchen, surprised to see her. She asked, "How do you have time to come by? You just finished the confinement; it’s good to rest a few more days!"

"No worries, I was bored at home, so I came out for a walk, checking how things are at the restaurant, managing everything okay?" Cheng Su replied.

"Everything’s fine. I promoted Tao Hua to be the shift leader." Qi Fenglian said and then asked about her child.

Cheng Su answered each question.

Qi Fenglian saw her rosy complexion, much fuller than before, and said, "Mother-in-law is taking good care of you. Seeing your complexion, you had a comfortable confinement period."

For a woman, a good postpartum period is most important, and seeing Cheng Su’s complexion now, it was clear it went well.

Cheng Su smiled, "Eating chicken and pig liver every day, how could my complexion be bad? Haven’t I gotten rounder?"

"That’s wonderful, brings good fortune!" Qi Fenglian praised.

Just as Cheng Su was about to speak, she saw the light at the door was blocked, and someone walked in from outside.

"Fenglian, I bought some chestnuts..."

The person stopped mid-sentence upon seeing Cheng Su, and Qi Fenglian’s expression changed several times. She quickly went up and asked quietly, "Why are you here?"

"I saw someone selling chestnuts at the street corner, they’re very fresh, so I bought some over for you two to have a taste."

Cheng Su watched with curiosity. The visitor was about forty, with a kind face, large and strong, and neatly dressed.

"Came to curry favor again!" Xiao Yun muttered beside her.

Cheng Su then smiled knowingly.

The word "again" revealed this man was a regular visitor.

Qi Fenglian sent the man away. He nodded to Cheng Su and left.

Cheng Su looked at the large bag of chestnuts in Qi Fenglian’s hand and sent Xiao Yun off to help in the kitchen. She laughed and asked, "Elder Sister, who is this? Coming so early in the morning with such a big bag of chestnuts for you."

Could it be that Elder Sister’s springtime has arrived?
