"We’ve spent the New Year at home for so many years, except the last couple of years in Qing City. Guangcheng is a big city, lively during the New Year, with lanterns everywhere. Dad, how about celebrating there?" "Sure!" Father Qi had no objections and said, "If he can take leave, it’s convenient for him to come home."

"It’s enough to have respect in our hearts. When Qingming comes, we’ll go back to worship then." Father Qi said, "Alternatively, we could go back earlier for a quick worship."

Mother Qi was inclined towards seeing Qi Taiguo, so she said, "Then you all decide!"

"Since that’s settled, I’ll finalize it with Taiguo!" Cheng Su said.

That evening, she called Qi Taiguo, excitedly telling him about this decision.

Qi Taiguo had just heard some bad news. Over in Africa and the Middle East, there was fighting, and the organization was preparing to send troops for Aid Africa. Unexpectedly, they might have to depart before the New Year ended, and Ning Gang’s intention was to send him too.

With Ning Gang’s order, Qi Taiguo couldn’t say no, especially as such foreign assignments were the quickest way to earn military merits. Ning Gang suggested that he’d be able to accumulate merits, paving the way for a future return to the Guangcheng military district.
