Chapter 3940 - Ten Desolate Starforges

Deep in the Ninelives Cave was a pathway filled with roots from the Ninelives Ancestral Tree. A girl dressed in black helped another who looked just like her walk. The other girl seemed identical, but was much paler.

There were a few other ashuras within the cave, all of them youths. They respectfully nodded to each other without saying anything else. Up ahead was another youth with a head of purple hair. One of his eyes was purple, while the other was black. Both were shaped like spirals that seemed to stretch deeper and deeper into his being, giving him a rather unique, cold aura.

"Skyfiendling...." Mo Lian and Mo Xi slowly approached the youth and told him everything that had happened.

"That orbiter actually dared to collude with the Primordial Sands. If he goes unpunished, others will see him as an example and do the same. Skyfiendling, please wipe out the traitor to prevent that," Mo Lian said, recalling the former sight with anger. She’d struggled and had only slightly recovered, but that didn't bring back the Saturatian wolves that’d escaped her control.

"It won't end with just that. That masked person was clearly just a quasi cosmic god, yet he can fight actual cosmic gods on an even footing. Our seniors would be glad to have him as a research subject," Mo Xi said. They bowed low to the Skyfiendling in deep respect.

The purple-haired youth looked at the other ashuras.

"Skyfiendling, why don't you use your cobalt fiendeyes to track that person down and deal with him?" said one ashura.

The Skyfiendling slightly inclined his head. He stretched a pale hand out toward the two girls and said in a soft voice, "I need a medium."

"We have something!" Mo Xi took out a strand of white hair, which could be used to track Tianming. It seemed like a far more effective way to search for someone than the Worldgazer Skyeye, which required a part of the target’s astral body to do the job.

The Skyfiendling put the hair in his palm. The eye on it was a compound eye with a vortex pattern. There were thirty-three subeyes in it, making the Skyfiendling a 66-eye ashura. He was easily among the most elite in terms of talent.

An ashura with sixty-six subeyes was even more of a threat than a member of the Sundown Pantheon with a 66-crest beast. Even though the latter had more centralized power, the warbeasts of ashuras were far more powerful than lifebound beasts from the Lower Star Ruins. The stronger cosmic godbeasts were definitely comparable to cosmic crest beasts as well!

The Skyfiendling fell silent after grasping the hair. Then he opened his eyes and said, "Found him. He isn’t far from here—let's go."

"Yes!" Mo Lian and Mo Xi sounded rather excited.

"With the Skyfiendling on the chase, that blind fool will meet a fate worse than death."

"It seems like he's forgotten who calls the shots in the Upper Star Ruin. We should teach him a lesson he won't forget."

Just then, someone outside requested an audience.

"Who is it?" the Skyfiendling asked.

"Folks from the Sin Pantheon. Two are from royal lineages, namely Yushen An and his little sister. They also need the Skyfiendling's help to look for someone wearing a purple mask...."

"Oh. There's no need, they can just join us in the hunt for that bug."

***

Within the void of the Upper Star Ruin, two maniverse-class worlds suddenly flashed. They looked like two eyes, one black, one purple. The two worlds closely orbited each other and seemed to draw everything else around them into a spiral. Each eye was more than a hundred times the size of Ebonia.

The two space eyes were considered a single maniverse-class world in the Upper Star Ruin. They were none other than Cobalt Fiendlord. One world was known as Cobalt Lord, while the other was known as Cobalt Fiend. The two worlds were ruled by the same person, the Cobalt Overfiend, whose reputation was well known even far from his home world.

Cobalt Fiendlord's cloaking formations were deactivated on that day, exposing its location in the Upper Star Ruin. Something important was clearly happening there.

It wasn’t long before a large number of maniverse-class ships appeared from wormhole expressways all around Cobalt Fiendlord. Every one of them looked luxurious and magnificent. They flew toward the purple eye, whose brightest spot was actually a megalopolis of galactic proportions. The city itself seemed to span more area than a skypiercer-class world, dotted with countless buildings that were tens of thousands of meters tall.

The city was called Cobaltium Universe City. Only maniverse-class worlds had cities big enough to meet the universe designation. Cobaltium was incredibly busy on that day, shining even brighter than average nova-source worlds. Drowning sounds could be heard reverberating from within.

"Saturatia Dreamlord, welcome to the ten-millennia celebration of the Cobalt Overfiend!"

"Ninehell Wargod, welcome to the celebration!"

One after another, astralships landed within the gigantic universe city. Parking didn't seem to pose any problems for the big ships at all. The passengers that left the ships were cosmic gods that reached up to a kilometer tall.

Just like that, Cobaltium grew even busier than before. It seemed like the Cobalt Overfiend was quite a respected figure, considering the kind of people that came to attend his celebration.

Every street in Cobaltium was at least ten thousand meters wide. In a world like that, hundred-meter-tall cosmic gods looked like little infants. Those who were five hundred meters tall were mere toddlers with more developed minds as they wouldn't cause trouble by going anywhere they shouldn't.

"The top elites and rulers of the ten great maniverse-class worlds are here!"

"Some of them even left the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins to be here."

"They're all coming to curry favor with us ashuras... hehehe...."

"While they aren’t submitting to us outright, our Cobalt Overfiend does seem to at least command their respect."

"Whether or not the overfiend accepts their offers, he’s at least someone that deserves to be taken seriously."

The ashuras were gleefully discussing all the rumors. They couldn't help but feel their pride swelling from the event as well.

"True. This is also an assembly for those of us from the Ten Desolate Starforges to assemble and witness the performance of the juniors in the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins."
