Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 603: The Young and the Old

Chapter 603: The Young and the Old

After Selene gave birth, a week passed before Nikolai even realised. Because of Leonid’s birth, he delayed the dates promised to his other wives. At first, they complained, but thanks to his coaxing them with future benefits.

‘Though I didn’t expect the situation in the Djinn world to have degraded so much.’

Nikolai wanted to spend a month preparing himself, but sadly, just like the doors to hell opened in the human realm, similar disasters started in her homeland. This event forced her weak brother to become desperate, giving them even less time to arrange their forces.

“Woo~”

“What’s wrong, Viktoria?”

He held the buggy, glancing down at the little munchkin babbling while reaching out to him, beside her, the twins Dhalia and Elizabeth slept soundly. ‘This girl always seems to seek my attention when possible.’

“Heh, you’re just like your mommy.”

“Wooooooo…”

In response to his words, she suddenly scrunched her face up, but unable to control her face well, a little bubble of snot dripped from her nose. “Haha, don’t pout, don’t pout. Dad gets it, he’s wrong, okay?” He smirked while taking a clean, wet wipe and tenderly wiping her face, deforming her squishy little cheeks.

“Wuuuu!”

Viktoria tried to avoid his massive hand, which easily cleaned her.

“Don’t complain, now you’re a beauty again.”

Today he planned to meet Alexei, Vernan and Ryan before organising what to do about the following weeks when he visits the Djinn homeworld. The people he recruited to help him all began working hard to take control of the southern area of the city, with Seraphina leading them.

So all that remained were his brothers.

“Nikolai!” Alexei’s deep voice echoed from the other side of the courtyard as he bellowed. Maryanne stood half behind him while avoiding Nikolai’s gaze.

‘He brought his sister?’

“Hey!”

He tried to call back, but suddenly remembered Dhalia and Elizabeth were both sleeping and glanced down. “Thank god…” He sighed. The two little wolves with their fluffy white ears flickering remained asleep, but Viktoria glanced up at him with her big eyes.

Nikolai worried about his eldest daughter because her apparent intelligence might be a sign of some underlying trouble. And if not. Then maybe she might develop a colder personality because of understanding things before her mind matured enough to handle them.

‘Forget it, I’ll hold up the sky for them all.’

Shaking his head, he reached out and ruffled her silky black hair with a bright smile. If his daughter needed something, he’d give it.

There wasn’t a reason to hold her back.

“Alexei, be quiet, my girls are sleeping.” Nikolai’s eye sharpened like a beast warning a little rabbit. In response, the bald giant blushed and glanced down with a strange expression.

“Oh, so cute.”

Marianne, beside him, peeked out, watching Viktoria, who watched her with inquisitive eyes. The little wolf tilted her head before pointing at the vampire. “Woo!”

No matter how excellent Nikolai was, he couldn’t tell what his daughter wanted to say; they enjoyed speaking with subtle barks or growls. ‘Though it’s frustrating, the girls seem able to understand each other…’ He couldn’t help but want to spank Nikita, who encouraged them to do this instead of using the standard language.

“Oh, you’ve already gathered?” Another voice came from the side, as Ryan walked down the western path with both hands behind his head. Beside him, a pretty woman with a seductive air followed one step behind him.

‘This guy brought his wife too?!’

Nikolai wanted a boys meeting, but it seemed these idiots didn’t get the memo.

“You look better today, human,” Alexei responded first, grinning at Ryan before turning his attention back to Nikolai’s daughter. “No wonder honey wanted to have children with me… how adorable.”

‘Oh?’

“Did you finally decide to have kids, Big guy?” Nikolai chuckled, putting the brakes on the high-quality buggy and turning on the automated massage and gentle rocking mode, which swayed slightly to stimulate a mother’s arms.

Of course, since Viktoria was awake, he unfastened her belts, then lifted her in his arms, sniffed her butt to check for any accidents or mess before scooping her up like a princess. But in his arms, she looked like a tiny porcelain doll.

“Oh my~” Ryan’s lamia lover covered her cheeks with a delighted smile upon seeing Viktoria in Nikolai’s arms.

She lay back with the prettiest oval face, fluffy eyebrows and big eyes that shone with a deep gold hue that sparkled when she glanced at someone with interest.

“So cute… can I hold her?”

Ryan glanced at his lover with a bitter smile. He looked at Nikolai with a strange, almost begrudging expression.

“Of course you can, how about transforming into your lamia form so you can keep her safe with your tail?”

“Oh? Is that okay? I’ve remained in human form just in case you didn’t like people being in their monster forms here…”

“No problem.”

Nikolai liked Ryan’s lover; she was the best type of woman to keep him on his toes and stop him from becoming lazy. Not to mention how polite she was! Many times when Nikita brought the girls out for a walk, she would accompany them for hours without complaining.

Today, the girls wore matching Alice in Wonderland outfits because Nikita had been watching the many versions of that franchise while bored at home.

Viktoria wore a little red pair of shoes and a dress, with a little Cheshire Cat plush toy fastened to her belt.

Dhalia and Eliza wore a matching blue version, but their toys were little caterpillars.

“Huhuhu, look Viktoria~ it’s your Auntie!”

The Great Elder Lamia covered her face with both hands before popping them open. “boo!” Her lips curled as she teased the little wolf, causing her face to brighten as she reached out for the Lamia. Nikolai couldn’t help but sigh.

“Wuuuu Wuuu!”

“Good girl, so beautiful and pretty.” She glanced up at Ryan and used her tail, shaking it to send him away. “Go on, have fun with your friends, don’t say I never let you do anything, honey.” Although she was smiling, her eyes didn’t smile!

Ryan could only swallow before rushing to Nikolai’s side, “Come on. Let’s go before she ties me up again!”

A short time later, Nikolai, Alexei, Ryan and Vernan sat on a comfortable sofa in the secondary mansion made for the children.

On one side of the main room was a play area, with various zones for children of different ages. It was created by Nagisa, with help from Elizabeth and Selene’s mothers, with soft, bouncy padding, a ball pit for when they grow larger, and dozens of toys and dolls.

Directly opposite them, Nikolai and the adults sat in the “Adult Zone”, which had several expensive sofas and entertainment devices.

However, in every seat or position, the children were visible.

Fifteen maids worked in the children’s mansion at any given time, not including chefs, cooks and nannies. Nikolai ordered this level of staff in order to avoid any accidents or issues; he also doubled the pay for those who work in the children’s mansion.

“Phew, to think we can enjoy such high-quality blood beer.” Alexei gulped from his stein. These non-alcoholic versions of their main drinks and food were developed by the Scarlet Group a few months earlier, after Selene learned of her pregnancy.

“Go easy, or I’ll take that from your payslip; those are expensive.” Nikolai chuckled while watching his daughter play with dolls with the Lamia.

“Boss, come on?! How can you be so heartless?”

“Yeah, boss…”

Vernan also complained that, as the two of them seemed to really enjoy the taste, thanks to removing the alcohol, it opened up the ability to give them new flavourings.

“What will I do with you two?!”

Nikolai shook his head, enjoying this little bickering, but he didn’t arrange this meeting just to enjoy the new product bringing them billions. “Hey, I have to leave for Zahra’thul soon.”

Zahra’thul, the homeworld of the Djinn, is a beautiful planet filled with magical colours and cultures not found on Earth. However, with such beauty, much like poisonous animals in the wild, it carried a great danger to those who stepped out of line.

“Nikolai, are you going alone?”

Ryan placed his drink down, wiping the foam away from his mouth.

He glanced at his eager-eyed brothers. In the background, Maryanne started playing with Viktoria and chuckled to himself. “Yeah, I will be going alone with Zara and Clara to avoid any issues with the gates and other things appearing while I am gone.”

“W-Why are you taking my sister?!”

Ryan suddenly shouted, causing everyone to stare at him, and even Viktoria shouted back with her little hands shaking her dolls in anger.

“Woo!”

Nikolai leaned back and looked up at his dear friend, knowing his current fears. “I have to take her, Ryan.” He waited for a moment, seeing the confusion and questions increasing on his best friend’s face. “Zara mentioned a sacred pool in their palace, which she believes has links to the fairy race.”

“…can you keep her safe?” Ryan stared deep into Nikolai’s eyes, his emotions so clear that Nikolai didn’t even need to use his special abilities to read them.

“I promise you that I won’t let her suffer.”

The tension grew thick as the two men stared at each other, only for Ryan to sigh and rub his hair with a frustrated voice.

“Then you better had, otherwise I will beat your ass myself.”

“Haha, sure thing.”

“The bean sprout is talking big,” Alexei whispered to Vernan, who nodded along with him.

“Alright, since you’ve accepted, come and help me make a plan for the visit.”

Nikolai felt grateful to Ryan and could barely hide his grin, which irritated him.
