Chapter 619: The Sweetness of a Mother’s Milk!
Chapter 619: The Sweetness of a Mother’s Milk!
Not long after meeting Yun’fa, Nikolai, Zara and Clara were being escorted to a secure villa just outside the city, protected by the Shadow Guard and listed under a merchant group.
The mansion itself was beautiful, big enough to be seen from the city gates, with a native Middle Eastern style of architecture. It had two massive pools and an exotic garden of imported flowers that bloomed in the harsh conditions.
"Phew."
Nikolai sat in the back of a small carriage with his back against the wall, watching the two moons as his body shook from the rocky path.
He wondered how difficult the next few days or weeks might be while holding Clara’s delicate hand as she rested her head on his thigh.
’The temperature is so cold at night.’
Different from the intense, prickly heat from the daytime, when the sun dropped in the desert city, so did the temperatures. He envied Princess Zara, and Zun’fa sat opposite him, wearing a fluffy woollen cape and dress.
When their eyes met, Zara tilted her head as if oblivious, but he knew this was clearly her revenge for his teasing her earlier.
Their carriage came close to a checkpoint where two men with spears blocked the pathway, one of them held a piece of parchment. Nikolai narrowed his eyes, focusing on the image and saw a picture of Zara.
He clicked his tongue and glanced at the current Zara.
Then his lips curled upward.
"What are you looking at?" She asked.
"Nothing." Nikolai shrugged while observing her.
Her usual pink skin looked different, now being pale blue with a small scar across her cheek to hide her identity.
The guards came to the back of the carriage, both of them wearing bronze armour and soft cloth to cover their faces and bodies.
"Show yourselves!" One of them called out.
Nikolai removed his hood while doing the same for Clara, who remained asleep like a fat little cat—as for Zun’fa and Zara, the two of them glanced at each other before nodding. They removed their hoods without issues.
"Hm?" The second guard checked the picture, alternating between their faces and the details, but then shook his head. "Must’ve been my imagination."
"Alright, you’re good to go. Don’t cause any issues." With a pat on the wood, the two guards returned to their positions.
The carriage remained quiet for several minutes after passing the blockade. What Nikolai couldn’t help but wonder about was the fact that these guards, who should serve the royal clan, were looking for Zara as if she were some criminal.
’Do the Balthazar clan have control of the government, or at least the guards?’
He closed his eyes, body shaking from side to side as he enjoyed the comforting sound of their camels walking through the desert sands.

Slowly, the distant villa came into view.
An elbow dug into Nikolai’s abdomen as if to wake him.
"Ugh?" Groggy and tired, he slowly opened his eyes, looking up at the beauty peering at him from above. Her eyes narrowed as she curled her lips and extended her hand to him.
"Come on, we’ve arrived, my aunt is waiting for you."
Nikolai took Zara’s hand as she pulled him off the carriage.
When the two came to the mansion, the two huge pools created a refreshing breeze as they connected to a large fountain in the centre of the path.
Zara kept her attention focused on Nikolai, her hand squeezing his as if he might slip away at any moment. Each time their gazes met, she turned away, pretending it was some kind of accident.
"So what are we here for?" Nikolai asked while smiling at Zara.
"My Aunt said something is happening in the palace in the next few nights, and she needs us to prepare. This is the place we will prepare and stay until then. I heard the owner is actually a friend of my aunt."
"Hmmmm, I see."
He didn’t push the subject further and returned to looking around.
’It’s quite a good place.’
Nikolai quite liked this world and its aesthetics, the beautifully crafted pots, pans and furniture, along with the grand architecture that made full use of the pools and paths to create a unique atmosphere, making the villa resemble a piece of art.
Suddenly, the doors opened.
They slowly ground against the floor with a low noise, before several beautiful women in light robes and dresses stepped out, their faces covered with soft white fabrics.
"Princess, you’ve arrived."
The eldest woman with slight wrinkles at the edge of her eyes spoke to their group.
She wore a navy blue pair of cloth pants and a white shirt with soft silver bangles and anklets jingling along with her elegant movements.
"I am Antha, the owner of this modest establishment. Please follow me."
However, when her gaze scanned the connected hands, her brows lifted, and she glanced at Nikolai as if scrutinising him.
"Oh."
Her mouth opened as she looked at him with bright eyes, nodding several times.
"I see, this is why Verda asked a favour like that."
As if this convinced her, the elder Djinn nodded several times, smiling at both Zara and Nikolai as she changed her tone slightly. "Greetings, Esteemed one, please also follow me into the villa."
Zara looked at Nikolai, then at the woman named Antha.
Nikolai couldn’t figure out why, but her thorny mood soon faded as she tightened her grip on his hand and pulled him towards the villa.
"Come on, Nikolai!"
Like this, their group entered the merchant’s mansion, hoping to meet Verda for a full rundown on what they would be doing in the next few days.
’I miss the others...’
When they came back to the city, Nikolai planned to use the Nexus gate to return home, but after reaching the plaza where the purple portal was. They found dozens of guards standing in front of it and a notice for temporary closure.
So he could only follow Zara and hope his wives understood.

Meanwhile, back at the Volkov Mansion, Selene lay back, her elegant dress replaced with a comfortable black shirt made of loose fabrics that hung low, revealing her deep cleavage and a pair of yoga pants as she held her child in one arm, frowning.
"Leonid~ you have to eat, it’s time to eat."
She tried to coax the cute boy, but he insisted on watching Nikita in the corner, his eyes fixed on the modest chest of the werewolf mother feeding her two daughters.
Although the two girls would soon start weaning to proper food, Dhalia and Elizabeth enjoyed sucking their mothers’ milk too much.
"Haa... how do you manage it?" Selene sighed, looking at her rival easily feeding both daughters with her small coconuts. "Is it the taste? Does my milk taste strange?" She lifted her large melon and, with a strange look on her face, she suddenly licked the tip.
Little did she notice that the big eyes of the black-haired girl were kicking her legs on the set between her and Nikita.
Viktoria resembled Nikolai more than any of the others, so when her mother bragged about her large coconuts and how tasty her milk was, Viktoria. She turned up her nose and pouted. After growing larger, the three girls began developing their own habits and tastes.
While little Leonid appeared to love pulling Nikita’s fluffy tail and wolf’s ears whenever he saw her, he would gaze at her.
"Son~ look, mommy’s milk is so sweet, won’t you eat?"
Selene huffed and glared at Nikita. "This is your fault... how could you leave your milk bottles out like that?"
"Heh, don’t blame me, my milk is just too good!" Nikita beamed back with a grin.
The maids mistook Nikita’s milk for Selene’s, and ever since that moment, Leonid’s eyes always seemed to linger on his second mother like a begging dog.
"Hm?"
While she was complaining, Viktoria came closer and closer to Selene, her eyes focused on the huge mounds that swayed slightly when she tried to stimulate the tips for the milking cups, since Leonid didn’t eat, she had to gather the milk for later.
"H-Hey~ Viktoria, what are you doing? Mom’s over here." Nikita called out to her fussy daughter in a soft voice. The two twins let out a burp before leaning against Nikita’s chest, clearly finished for the moment, their little eyes half closed.
To her surprise, she watched as Viktoria climbed onto the soft and reached out to Selene, her little hands grasping Selene’s sacred chest.
"Oh? What’s the matter, little one? Are you hungry?" Selene cupped herself and lowered her shoulders so Viktoria could reach.
The little pup didn’t waste a second before latching on and guzzling down the vampire’s milk.
"V-Viktoria?!"
But despite Nikita’s voice, the little werewolf pup continued to suck as if possessed by something, which made Selene smile warmly. She reached out and stroked the silky black hair of the little girl.
"What a good girl, since you like mom’s milk so much, come get it anytime, fufu."
"Y-You, how can you steal my daughter?!"
Nikita made an issue while tapping the backs of Dhalia and Elizabeth; her tail fluffed up as she flashed her sharp fangs.
"Heh, you know this might happen, the midwives even said so!"
"Tsk, like I’ll believe our milks are almost identical! Who can match such huge lumps of fat!"
Because of Nikolai’s blood and the effects on both women and their children, they created perfect hybrids. Their desires would sometimes be those of a werewolf, and others a vampire.
Thus, when Sasha analysed their milk, she found that the taste, sweetness, and vitamins were almost identical. But when the two sat down to feed their children, their milk changed depending on the mood of the mother.
This fact caused a new style of war between the two mothers.
Whoever’s child chose the other’s milk would win.
