Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 620: The Sunset Dawn

Chapter 620: The Sunset Dawn

After arriving, Antha took their group and arranged rooms for them, with Nikolai’s being in the west wing and the girls all settled in the east wing. For him to meet them, he’d have to clear the main hallway, which made things a little difficult.

However, this was the custom of the Djinn.

Unless married, men and women rarely slept in the same area; well, Nikolai thought this was normal for most cultures. Thus, he didn’t complain; his relationship with Zara remained in an ambiguous period. They weren’t lovers yet, despite the kiss.

"So, how long have you been working with the mistress?"

Nikolai walked to his room with a tanned beauty, her skin close to the golden colour of the sun, covered with a blue veil with a golden trim.

She glanced at him, then turned her head away, like a rabbit facing a wolf.

"T-Two years."

The modest nature of these women shocked Nikolai, who’d only met Zara before this and thought that Djinn women were confident and wild.

"I see, what kind of things does she trade?"

He asked these questions because of the banquet. He and Zara were invited by Antha, which meant he would obviously know about her and what goods she sold. But the maid seemed to be a little nervous when speaking to him.

’Maybe it’s because of their values.’

A few minutes passed as they walked down the long western corridor. The tap of their steps echoed through the halls as Nikolai waited for her to respond.

Finally, the pretty Djinn looked up at him nervously. "Weapons, and people."

’!?’

Nikolai’s jaw dropped, and he looked at the maid who stood quietly peering at his face while tilting her head, unaware of the shock he experienced.

"By people, do you mean slaves?" He struggled to ask; this was something in his world that vanished hundreds of years before.

Immediately, the girl’s face flushed, and she waved both hands in front of her face.

"N-No, no, no... I meant mercenaries." She then pulled down her face cloth, revealing a pair of plump peach lips. "The sunset dawn, we are a mercenary group that also sells weapons, to other merchants we just sell weapons, and offer protection services on the side."

"Oh, protection?" Nikolai glanced at the woman, her body trembling under his scrutinising gaze. "Even you?"

That instant, her atmosphere changed as she suddenly exerted a dense aura of Soul Force, but her eyes widened when Nikolai just nodded while scanning her body.

"I see, quite a decent level, around Elder level. You’re not an archmage yet, right?" He asked with a smile, the movement of her aura causing the cloth straps of her dress to slip down her shoulders.

"Y-You are strong!"

At first, the maid appeared scared; she looked around and took a step back with her arms spread, as if he might attack her.

’This foolish woman.’

Nikolai didn’t want any issues, so he chased her, stepping forward with his long legs, clearing the gap instantly as he slammed his hand against the wall beside her head. "Listen, I am here to support the princess. Don’t worry, I have no desire to hurt any of you, including your mistress."

"Do you understand me?"

Her little head nodded twice as she trembled.

"Don’t be so scared, did I do anything that would make you like this?"

"Nn!" The maid shook her head.

"Then stop looking so scared, honestly, I have no desire to cause trouble here."

Thanks to this, whether scared or believing him, the maid stopped showing fear and started guiding him once again. He didn’t realise that he accidentally exerted his Ancestor-level aura the moment he chased.

The level of difference between them was so big that she likely imagined death.

’Well, no wonder she almost wet herself.’

"This is your room. Do you require anything else, Sir?"

Nikolai stepped inside and inspected the room with a smile. He never expected to be given such a magnificent room to sleep in.

With a small living area with tables, chairs and a small area to make coffee and tea in the corner, split off from the grand bedroom with a super massive bed, big enough for at least six people to sleep on, with elegant furniture and foliage surrounding the room.

A massive floor-to-ceiling window spread from the corner beside the bed to the door leading to the living area.

"Oh?"

An eastern-style robe and garment hung from the wall close to the entrance.

"Is this for me to wear?" He held the loose pants and vest, the soft material nice to the touch.

"Mhm, yes, Sir. The size might be a little... tight. After all, we never expected someone of your stature, but it should be acceptable."

"I see, thanks for guiding me."

He couldn’t help but avoid glancing at the pretty maid because each time he did, her shoulders trembled, and she appeared to struggle to walk properly.

’It’s quite adorable.’

"Dinner is served at eight, breakfast is also served at eight, and lunch is served at twelve. If there is anything you need, just ring this bell." She pointed to a small cord attached to the wall with a smile. "I will come running if you need me."

"Does that mean you’ll be the one helping and serving me whilst here?"

"Mhm, yes, Sir!"

"Okay then, for now, you can take some time to relax, have a break." Although he knew she would likely find another menial job after leaving his room. He truly didn’t want to torment this young woman who helped him so much.

"Understood!"

She bowed, then rushed away as if escaping.

"Am I that scary?"

He could only shake his head at the silence and grabbed his new clothes, then headed to the bathroom. Nikolai quite liked the fashion sense of the Middle Eastern style, so the Djinn aesthetic that carried inspiration from them made him happy.

The bath was huge.

"Ahh~ what a great soak."

Nikolai enjoyed an almost searing hot bath filled with various salts and cleansing agents made with natural ingredients. The scent wasn’t too strong but carried a lightly floral and fruity hint. He stretched his body, wearing the bathrobe provided loosely.

When he plopped down on the sofa, his broad chest appeared as the early evening red sunlight leaked into the room.

"To live somewhere like this would be amazing."

He loved S-City, but these exotic places with a lot of sun always tickled his fancy. Outside his window, a beautiful city loomed on the horizon with tall buildings and landmarks. It might be a good place to bring all my wives on our anniversary.

Knock! Knock!

Someone tapped at the door.

Nikolai leaned back, his hair dripping with beads of water from the bath as he smiled.

’It’s probably the maid from earlier.’

Though he was naked under the bathrobe, he really didn’t care who saw him. After becoming the patriarch, he long adjusted to the maids and other women helping in the bath, sometimes scrubbing him or applying treatments to make his hair silky smooth.

"It’s open, come in."

The door opened immediately, and two sets of feet tapped the floor as they entered.

One lighter than the other, as if she barely touched the ground, while the other carried a rhythmic tone as she walked.

’It’s not her.’

Nikolai turned to face the people who entered, his lips immediately curling into a smirk. One wore a soft white dress that wrapped around her like petals on a flower. Clara’s outfit was so soft that the cloth shifted with each step, almost revealing her pink buds.

The moment he looked at her, she lowered her head while blushing.

Beside her, the fiery red skin of Zara looked shiny, probably wet from the bath, as it glistened in the fading light. Her dress already loosened, but when she plopped down beside him, the flesh of her buttocks spread slightly to both sides, and her plump, rounded hips stretched the dress fabric, creating an incredibly alluring curve.

"What’s the matter?" She asked, with a smirk, leaning closer. "Do I look good?"

This atmosphere was the Zara he knew from earlier; she didn’t act like this back in the tunnels, but now she seemed to have recovered her confidence.

Nikolai swallowed as his eyes lowered to the deep, sensual crevice between her bulging mounds. His left hand leaned on the backrest, while his right hand rested on his exposed thigh.

"You look great." He smiled, dragging his eyes away from the seductive demon, towards the pure fairy that sat beside him on the opposite side and hooked his arm.

"Brother Nikolai, the cloth is so thin, I’m scared it will slip!"

Her words only stimulated Nikolai’s desires as he peeked down; the modest curve of Clara’s chest peeked from the sides of her unique outfit. He could swear if she just made a little movement, a simple jiggle, and her coconuts would be free.

"Zara, what are you both wearing?"

These clothes couldn’t be serious outfits, so he assumed they might just be underclothes or pyjamas.

"Keke, do you like them that much?"

The confident Zara leaned closer, her weight pressing against his arm, as she let her soft, rounded breasts wrap his arm comfortably. Then she leaned closer, letting her hot breath blow down his neck, before whispering.

"We wear this when trying to seduce our spouse."

Nikolai then noticed the slightly fruity scent on Zara’s breath and shook his head.

’No wonder, this girl is drunk.’

He wouldn’t take advantage of the drunk girl. Instead, he pulled back and let her do whatever she wanted. The chances were she drank because of her nerves, so all he needed to do was help her calm down.

Suddenly, another delicate pair of hands wrapped around his arm, then slipped inside his bathrobe, stroking his muscles.

It was Clara.

It seemed she didn’t plan to let him escape.
