Chapter 639: Learning Djinn Slang Words!
Chapter 639: Learning Djinn Slang Words!
Zara glanced back, no longer able to see Nikolai’s face. Her stomach fluttered each time she thought about what happened between them and how just a few hours ago she slept within his arms, complaining about stupid things.
’I’ve fallen for a boy ten years younger, how shameless.’
Because the issue never came up, she didn’t make it obvious.
After learning how young Nikolai was, despite his achievements, she just couldn’t admit her age after sleeping together; it was like an old cow eating tender grass.
’The nexus portal suddenly feels foreign to me...’
Her eyes examined the portal plaza, confused at the number of guards, but then she noticed the green bracers on their arms. ’Damned Balthazarian dogs!’ How could the men who served her brother take the side of her uncle!
A raging flame grew with each defective guard she saw, her fists clenched so tightly, her soul force crackled with arcs of electricity.
Zara almost blew her top and rushed at the guards, when suddenly a small hand offered a sweet pastry made with sugar and flour.
"What’s wrong?"
Clara’s simple question as she chewed on the delicious-looking dessert with an oblivious expression. The fire inside Zara’s stomach instantly dwindled, as if Clara’s adorable and brainless expression was a bucket of soothing ice.
"Eh?!"
Shocked at first, Zara glanced at the sweet treat and hurriedly opened the small opening of her shadow guard mask, chomping on the snack.
’So sweet~’ The sugary flavour with hints of sweet cinnamon and caramel flooded the inside of her mouth as her cheeks tingled. All thoughts of vengeance melted away with the treat down her throat.
"Feel better?" Clara cocked her head to the side, ruffling her paper bag and looking through the dozen little desserts. She held one, then put it down, before taking a smaller one and offering it to Zara, almost as if unwilling to give her a bigger one.
"Y-Yeah..."
’Now that you mention it...’
While walking with the Thrall, Zara’s irritation continuously grew, but now she felt a sense of peace. A realisation came to her, looking at the women around her. ’If my husband wanted to, he could devour these women, but he would definitely prefer me!’
She lifted her chin, and with a smile beneath her mask, they approached the Nexus portal—the beautiful purple jelly undulated in mid-air, creating a soothing chill.
’Salty as usual.’
Some believed the sea carried the hidden truth behind how the worlds were connected. Zara and the Djinn also believed this due to its similarities with ocean water.
"Let’s go, Clara."
"Mm."
The small fairy seemed to enjoy eating, no longer concerned with the guards. Zara also started to enjoy the feeling of going to her in-laws to meet her future mother and father-in-law.
That’s when her worries came again, causing a weight in her stomach to drop.
’Ah, will Elizabeth and Ivan accept me?!’
Clara reached out and took Zara’s hand once again, as if she could tell when anything was wrong. "Don’t worry, it’ll be fine." Before eating another of her treats, with a cat-like delight on her face.
’So adorable!’
Zara couldn’t put the panting beast of a woman and this cute fairy together. Memories from the inn sometimes flashed beside Clara’s innocent visage, confusing her. ’Which is the real one?’
However, she shook her head and decided to forget it. ’Nikolai said she was just a little lonely and strange, after all.’ Without thinking again, she squeezed the little fairy’s hand and rushed to the portal. "Let’s go."

The thralls watched their actions with hushed gossip; none of them dared to upset the master who gave them wonderful lives for nothing in return.
After coming to the Volkov mansion, they learned of how vampire thralls usually live, and the fact that they keep all their money and only pay a small amount of dividence to the Volkov estate, their affection towards Nikolai grew unnaturally fast.
The leading Thrall, with silver hair and deep red eyes, Tanya watched Zara and Clara dash ahead of them with keen eyes before her cold voice spread through the group of thralls despite the hushed tone.
"Three, Four and Five keep close guard, no matter who approaches, eliminate them."
When on missions, the thralls gave each other numbers, decided before the mission through battles of strength. Tanya’s number was zero; for the past seven missions, she’d hadn’t lost a single fight, while the other numbers often changed.
"Numer Six and Two, spread out with the remaining girls and create a net for anyone who seems doubtful or dangerous within twenty metres."
Thanks to Tanya’s unique ability to transmit her voice at near-silent levels to her fellow thralls, she created an almost ideal command structure. The others tried to mimic, but at most could give simple responses.
"Roger."
"Understood, Zero."
Even Nikolai hadn’t noticed the rapid growth of his thralls, a force normally at the lowest end of a family’s combat power. Yet thanks to his hybrid blood and powers, each of these women could match a low-level noble in combat.
With Tanya’s strength reaching Mature, bordering on elder.
Although this is with the constant doping of drinking their master’s blood once a month, each of them paid a significant amount to drink in person.
This system was a creation of Sarah; the girls could drink the cooled, prepared blood of Nikolai’s from a small pack in blood wine. Or they could pay a portion of their earnings towards the family, and Thrall’s combat savings and Sarah would take them to visit Nikolai on feeding day.
"Hah... this is going too well."
Tanya brushed her silky hair back, revealing her shiny forehead as she scoffed. Although they became thralls, she retained her fiery and short-tempered personality from her homeland and slipped into R-Dialect much like her boss’s wife, Nikita.
Of course, this led to her becoming one of Nikita’s exclusive protectors and maids when she was at the mansion.
’Only a single new woman, the mistress will be relieved.’
Thus, she kept tabs on his movements for her.
"Two, how is the situation?"
Waiting for their turn to enter the gate was the best moment for someone from the enemy to notice or strike them. ’We’ve sent several decoys out, but the rumours of her death should be spreading by now...’ Tanya didn’t know how strong the Djinn were, but after fighting the hellish creatures a few weeks ago, she feared nothing.
"Zero, two unknowns heading towards the princess."
"Understood, circle and keep tabs. If they come within ten metres, or take action, you have permission to act."
"Yes, Ma’am!"
There wasn’t much choice; this world wasn’t theirs, and if they caused too much trouble, then the portal would be closed. Tanya wanted to avoid that, no matter what, even if she became a person banned from travelling to Al’Qutar.
’If the master is upset, we’ll be doomed.’
Tanya slapped her cheeks, then focused.
The two men mentioned strolled with unhurried gaits, their shoudlers swaggering from side to side, but at their waist were curved broadswords, and they wore the green bracers of the enemy faction.
She narrowed her eyes, trying to ascertain their gazes, following them towards Clara and Zara, who stood near the front of the portal queue.
’Nothing will happen, right?’
As if tempting fate, the leading male with short black hair pointed to them and the other guard with blue skin cupped his mouth and shouted.
"Halt! Those two women, halt right there."
"Damn it!"
Today wasn’t going to be Tanya’s day!
Both of their strengths exceeded hers by quite a margin!
.
.
.
"Halt!"
A man shouted behind Clara’s back, attracting her attention. She glanced over her shoulder, but instantly narrowed her eyes into sharp black slits. The change was instantaneous; her sclera turned black, matching her iris.
Around her, a silky veil of mist started forming as she yanked Zara’s hand.
"E-Eh, what’s the matter, Clara?"
Zara answered with crumbs on her mask.
"Enemies."
"W-Where?!"
The fairy didn’t speak more, instead she tightened each muscles in her body, biceps, triceps, thighs, calves, stomache... then relaxed them slowly as if testing her control over every inch of her body.
"I’m going to engage them."
"W-Wait, can you even fight Clara?!" Zara’s eyes widened, and she gripped the small hand of the fairy tight, concerned for her safety. "I can...Eh?!"
Clara’s figure vanished in a puff of smoke, her hand slipping free as she wrapped around the back of Zara and pushed two daggers at her neck from behind. "Trust me, I am here to protect you, Sister."
The cold voice lacked the same energetic or soft tone of her other impressions.
"I-I see, sorry for doubting you..."
"Mhm." She shook her head and stepped ahead of Zara. "It’s okay, we haven’t had a chance to speak properly yet. So let’s do it when we get home."
The two men reached fifteen metres as the crowd spread apart, and people began to complain about the guard’s actions.
"You two, show your identification!"
"Don’t move, and quietly come with us!"
The two Djinn appeared to be serious, but their eyes gave away their true plot, lecherous and perverted grins on their face. They eyed Clara’s small yet voluptuous figure and then Zara’s bombshell figure that improved further after Nikolai’s nourishment.
"Get fucked!"
Clara cursed in the Djinn tongue, then gave the middle finger to the guard.
"This bitch!? The hell did she say, damned foreigner!"
The fairy didn’t show a moment of fear, even when the other guards started to gather, with a simple nod to the thralls behind them, she vanished.
Poof!
"W-What, where the hell did she go?!"
"You there!? Where did your comrade go, if you don’t say?"
Woosh!
Clara dropped from the metal scaffolding that held the nexus portal headfirst with both daggers pointing at the Djinn’s throat. She also shouted more of the broken slang learned from Verda the night before.
"Die! Micro penis! Cuckold!"
