Chapter 683 683: Smuggled Weapons
Chapter 683 683: Smuggled Weapons
The three wolves flung at him like dad-seeking missiles. The trio grew fast, now growing to Nikolai's thighs as he caught the twins in his arms, while Viktoria clung to his neck like a little koala bear.
"Wuwuwuwu!"
"Awwuuu!"
The twins nibbled and bit his shoulders as they grew excited; their voices became small yelps, something he'd grown used to after becoming a dad. He'd never known what he was like as a kid, but after he mentioned it, his dad showed him a video.
'I was just as bad!'
He would cling to his mother's chest and bark like a little dog.
It was extremely embarrassing.
After seeing it, his wives made copies of the digital copies of those videos.
"Pa...Papa....Woooooo~"
Of course, Viktoria was just as excited.
The three girls began to climb all over his body, their little claws not deep enough to cause much damage, but they hurt like stepping on a piece of Lego when they clung to his neck or armpit to dangle upside down.
"Oh my, aren't they so cute?"
Elizabeth stepped through the door, causing the girls to tremble instantly, their cute eyes all focused on Nikolai as they pretended to be good.
As she stared at the trio, her eyes narrowed, "Have you been good little girls?"
"Of cowrse, Granmaw..." the trio said in unison.
Nikolai watched in complete awe as his mother's face melted; the stern glance she'd retained after taking the new body resembled the one in his memories and pictures left fifteen years ago.
"Ugh... Ivan... Ivan, quick... we need another child!"
"Woman, if we try harder, it'll fall off!"
Normally, his father would take a weak position, but this time he managed to uphold his dignity for a few minutes.
The instant he spoke, Elizabeth's eyes narrowed into dagger-like slits as she subtly moved her hand, grabbing his father's crotch. "Do you dare bet on those words, I~~~Van~~~"
'Rest in Pieces, Dad.'
"Waaaa, Grandmaw is strong!"
"Granmaw, cool!"
Luckily, for his father's safety, the cute twins began to raise their arms while sitting on Nikolai's shoulders, calling for her.
"Oh my~ do you want to come play with Grandma? Fufufu~ I have some special jerky, do you want some?"
Their eyes flashed like wild beasts upon hearing the one word they managed to pronounce perfectly, no matter how tired or confused.
"Jerky!"
"Jerky~~~!"
"Jerky..."
Thanks to this, Nikolai handed the girls to Elizabeth, who winked to him before placing a small piece of Jerky in his chest pocket.
"Don't think I forgot you, my baby boy."
The aforementioned videos were also about him barking for his mother's Jerky...
He glanced at how his mother easily gathered the three girls into her arms like stuffed dolls, their mouths filled with a piece of dark brown, beef jerky.
"Ugh... can you take them to the side room? If you press the second wall button, they can watch us from the play area. If you want to hear, then it's the third button."
"No problem, but you look a little tired... is everything okay?" Elizabeth tilted her head while glancing into his soul with her big red eyes.
"No, mother, just... your daughters-in-law are eager for more children. Haha..."
Her mouth opened for a second before she chuckled. "I see, I see, that's good. But be careful, alright?" She glanced over to the door and called out. "Nagisa, come on, bring that cute little ball of fluff too."
'Hypocrite! What about dad?!'
The two women then scurried past him. Nagisa peeked at Nikolai and winked while mouthing "Good job!" to him.
The two women didn't seem bothered about the meeting and started gossiping about stuff Nikolai wished he hadn't heard.
'Who wants to know about their mother's sex life!?'
Inside the room, only Nikolai, Dimitri and Ivan remained.
"Ahem, shall I get us something to drink? Dad, Father-in-law?"
Dimitri's hair recently started growing back after years of thinning, thanks to Nikolai's blood, something which earned the company and family a huge sum. After being distilled to less than 1%, it would no longer have an effect on humans other than stimulating cell growth, which could help with hair loss and other ailments.
'It apparently boosts libido and erection strength too...'
"Don't be so stiff, call me Dad too..." Dimitri chuckled, jumping down on the leather sofa and resting his legs on the expensive table.
"Haha, sure if that's alright, Dad."
Ivan's cheeks twitched the moment Nikolai called Dimitri dad. Somehow, Nikolai felt the hairs on his neck stand up as the silver-haired beast suddenly kicked Nikita's dad.
Thud!
Dimitri flew off the sofa, landing face-first on the floor.
"Nikolai, just call this idiot Old Man. There's no need to respect a mangy dog taking advantage of you; look at him crawling on the floor like a bug."
"I-Ivan!? What the hell, man?"
Nikolai watched his dad just sitting on the sofa, slowly crossing his legs and tapping the seat beside him.
"Stop being dramatic, and sit."
"Tsk! You're always so overbearing, damn rough—Ack!?"
Dimitri slapped him again, before dragging Dimitri onto the seat beside him, then took several booklets and a USB device from a little black briefcase. "Stop messing around, we're here because of those bastards making an illegal move."
"Ah, sorry... I just got excited at how big the girls are now." Dimitri glanced to the side room, which doubled as Reina and Miyu's office and a children's playroom.
"If you want, we can hold the meeting for a few drinks while he plays with the girls?" Nikolai suggested, only for his father to shake his head and tap the mahogany table.
"Nikolai, this cannot wait."
"Is it that bad?"
"Ah, the bastards are smuggling weapons."
"Isn't that normal?" Dimitri sucked on an olive from the bowl.
Ivan glanced at his brother-in-arms and fellow grandfather, shaking his head again as he facepalmed. "Dimitri, the issue isn't the smuggling but who they're selling weapons to and which weapons." He then grabbed one of the three books and tossed it to Dimitri, while taking out a sleek 14" laptop from the briefcase.
Then, typing his seventy-two-digit password, he put the USB into the drive.
"Listen, although we've had an easy time taking over most of S-City, that's only monster-based gangs. Because for the longest time we've held a tradition to not involve ourselves directly with the human gangs, or destroy their ecosystems."
That's when he tapped two documents: a video and a PDF.
The PDF opened in the top right half of the screen while the video played in the background, inside a bar with neon lighting.
"Can you see the ammunition and weapons listed in the PDF? These aren't weapons to kill humans, but monsters... specifically werewolves."
Nikolai watched the video, his eyes keenly scanning each person who appeared.
He followed a group of muscular men sitting in the VIP area playing cards. That's when a group of people wearing similar uniforms and carrying PDF-issued guns stepped into the room.
The muscular men started to transform, before the uniformed men with guns shot.
A single shot blew out the brains of a female, clearly human, but the werewolves fared no better as their transformations stopped and they fell to the ground convulsing, with black veins writhing under their flesh.
After that, the entire group of werewolves died in less than five seconds.
'Shit, that's the same thing that almost killed me and my thralls!?'
"Do you understand now, Dimitri, Nikolai?"
Dimitri shook in the seat, his fists almost shattering the reinforced glass as he hyperventilated at the screen.
"T-Those boys, I knew them... those were boys I trained, I am the one who told their parents it'd be okay... the bar was close to the human territory, and they would never make a move... Which gang did this?! Who!"
It might've been the first time he'd seen his father-in-law so angry since he slept with Nikita or got her pregnant.
His muscles bulged as he struggled to hold in the anger.
"Calm yourself, Dimitri. There is nothing we can do by rushing in and dealing with a petty human gang. The issue is still these bastards... watch!"
With a click, another video began playing; it was the same uniformed humans, but this time they stood at a pier, each holding several briefcases.
It only took a few minutes in the sped-up video for the other party to arrive, protected by bone saints and a few zombies. A male vampire with green veins snapped his fingers after checking the human briefcases.
That's when the bonesaints carried huge boxes and crates full of guns, silver bullets and finally, the vampire with blonde hair and pale grey eyes handed them a small box, whispering something to the leader before he boarded the boat and left.
'What are those?'
The humans slowly checked the weapons, as four massive vans pulled up one by one, collecting the crates and boxes.
However, the small leather case remained sealed.
"Fuck, what were our patrol units doing?!" Dimitri raged.
"Oh come off it, you know we are stretched to the limit right now and watching all three borders is impossible!"
Nikolai expected his father to handle things, but that's when Dimitri jumped up from the sofa and lowered his head to him.
Not Ivan.
"Damn it... tsk... let me investigate them, please, I'm begging you, Patrictch. Those boys' deaths are on my hands. I cannot let things end like this. If I cannot give a good answer to their parents, I won't be able to sleep at night."
'This is a little tricky...'
On one hand, he wouldn't mind letting him go, but with Dimitri on this, it might end up messier because he wouldn't be able to hold back.
Neither would the Fenrir troops.
"Phew, I cannot let you lead that task."
"NIKOLAI!!!"
A burst of aura exploded with Dimitri's threatening shout.
However, the aura that exploded was not from Dimitri but from Nikolai. The immense force slammed into the Werewolf like a wave of water, hitting his father-in-law's body like a hammer.
"!?"
Even Ivan stood, eyes wide, watching as Dimitri stumbled back to his knees.
"Listen to me, Dimitri Fenrir. I am the Patriarch right now, not your son-in-law. Remember that, and show proper respect. The reason I said no is because I cannot leave this to you, Fenrir, alone."
"W-Why?! Patrirach, it's a matter of family..."
"Yes, it's a matter of family! But Dimitri, you ARE a part of my family now. I do not call you father in vain!"
Nikolai's aura sank back inside his body as he held a hand to Dimitri on the ground.
"Now I ask both of you to investigate. I want to check both the gangs and those who were supposed to be watching the piers. I do not believe this happened purely because of negligence, Father."
Dimitri and Ivan just stared at the young Werewolf, someone they thought still needed their protection, but after his display, they just glanced at each other and bowed.
"Yes, Patriarch!"
"But, for now, let's discuss things together in more detail. I will have my knights support you, along with Alexei, Vernan and Ryan."
"Yes, Patriarch!"
'Damn... this is strange...'
Nikolai couldn't bear the strange atmosphere and walked to his special cabinet of expensive whiskey and wines before taking a good single malt.
He turned to the two and uncorked the top.
"Dad, Father... let's avenge those who lost their lives. No matter what."
This time Ivan and Dimitri glanced at each other and chuckled, "Damn kid, when did you grow up so much... I'm so sad to have missed your growth."
"Ah, I'm proud of you, Nikolai."
The two then brought their glasses, before first pouring one for Nikolai, right to the very top of his glass.
Dimitri became excited like the little girls, drinking half his glass before spurring Nikolai on.
"Go on, Patriarch! Drink, Drink!"
Ivan gently raised his glass and nodded. "In honour of our esteemed Patriarch!"
