Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 684: A Wonderful Night

Chapter 684: A Wonderful Night

Nikolai left his father and Dimitri after a short drink so they could speak amongst themselves; sometimes it was rude to butt in, but in this case, it was old men enjoying a nostalgic conversation.

So he headed into the side room, aiming to greet his girls before leaving.

The moment he entered, he saw them playing together on the climbing frame bolted to the wall, with Viktoria sitting on the roof, and both twins on the slide.

"Hey girls, are you having fun?!"

To the side of them, both Nagisa and his mother sat drinking coffee, but their eyes never left the children for a second.

"Yessss~!"

"Ah, it’s Dad!"

Elizabeth points to him, then jumps cleanly off the metre-high climbing frame.

Unwilling to lose, Dhalia and Viktoria soon followed.

Nikolai’s body flashed forward, but stopped the moment the girls landed perfectly, like daintily little fairies.

His heart pounded the moment they jumped, "Be careful, you’ll get hurt if you rush!" Nikolai scolds them as he squats down with arms wide open.

"Sowwe dad, we wont do it agen."

"Okay, okay."

’Damn...’

The girls lowered their heads in unison as they apologised, as if it were a practised act, but the impact on his chest felt like a sledgehammer.

He watched as their little eyes peeked up at him, as if noticing his feelings, the girls quickly toddled over to him, stomping their little feet. That’s when he noticed their outfits matched the strange cartoon they watched in the morning.

A magical girl who attends school during the day, then fights monsters at night.

The outfit was simple, white blouses with cute bows, fluttering skirts and cute pumps that flashed different colours, pink, green and red.

He squatted down.

Now, near eye level, he found the pretty magical girls quite charming.

"Are you excited to stay over at Grandma’s tonight?"

Their eyes shone bright like little monsters before glancing back at the two women and nodding. "I love Grandma’s house." Elizabeth bragged, hitting her chest.

Nikolai couldn’t help but find her growth impressive, from the quiet little girl a few weeks ago, now she would take the lead, often clashing with Viktoria.

For an hour, he joined the girls in the play area, helping them jump high or climb to the top.

Eventually, the girls grew a little sleepy, and Nagisa called out to him, smirking.

"Son~ aren’t you meeting my daughter tonight?"

"Ah, of course I am.... Mother..."

He used to call her mother or mom in a joking manner, but once it became official, somehow it felt ticklish to call Nagisa those names—the same for his newly revived mother, who also looked no older than twenty-four.

"Hmph, to think that stinky girl would finally start acting like a woman after giving birth, well... I hope you have a good evening, and don’t worry about the girls. Leave them to my lovely sister here and me."

"Tsk, who is your lovely sister... don’t embarrass me in front of my boy!"

Nikolai rarely saw his mother around other people, but when watching how she interacted with Nikita’s mother, he found it quite amusing.

It reminded him of Nikita and Selene’s dynamic.

Elizabeth smiles at him and says. "Go on, have a good night."

"Y-Yeah."

He tapped the soft cheeks of his little girls, but as if sensing he was going to leave, they became clingy and refused to release him.

A little while passed as he struggled to part with his cute daughters, who clung to his pants as he tried to leave.

Thankfully, his mother and Nagisa bring out their secret weapon.

Magical Girl Kururu Ice cream cones.

"Ah!"

"It’s Kururu!"

"Ruru!"

...and like this, Nikolai learned what it feels like to be abandoned for a TV show product. To hide his growing sadness, he quickly slipped out of the office and rushed to get ready for his evening date with Nikita.

...

Ivan and Dimitri watched Nikolai’s back fade through the door and sighed.

The bottle of single malt was empty as the side-room door opened, with the three angels holding brightly coloured ice-creams and tapping the floor with their cute pumps. Nagisa and Elizabeth trailed behind them, locking the side room and quickly catching the falling ice cream in their palms.

"Go see your Grandfather’s, they look lonely."

"Mmmm!"

"Okaaay!"

With cute little skips, the twins chose to sit on Ivan’s lap, "Grandpaw, look at ice creams, hehehe." Then bragged about their half-melted Kururu ice creams.

While Viktoria sat quietly beside Dimitri, licking hers, the poor old man cried.

In response to his strange actions, Viktoria’s eyes darted between her ice cream and Dimitri before she handed out her ice cream.

"Don’t cry, Grandpa, I’ll share my ice cream with you."

"W-Wah... my Viktoria is so kind, Grandpa is full already, so you enjoy it. Here, let Grandpa hug you!"

"Kyaaa~"

Her cute squeal echoed as he lifted her onto his lap while shooting a glance at Ivan, who tilted his head as if confused at the old man’s victorious glare.

Nagisa and Elizabeth sat to the side speaking amongst themselves, before Nagisa suddenly chuckled. "Hey girls, who is the strongest in the world?"

The trio tapped their little lips, imitating their mother, then quickly met each other’s eyes with a nod and a cheeky smile.

"Dad!"

"Papa is the strongest!"

"What!?"

"No way..."

Dimitri gasped, but even Ivan showed a slightly deflated expression as he hugged Dhalia and Elizabeth II tightly in his arms. "Is Grandpa that weak?"

"N-No Grandpaw... but... dad is the best!"

"Yeah!"

Ivan and Dimitri exchanged a glance.

"The kid needs some severe skinship, let’s make sure he pays for this!"

"Hehe, Ivan, we don’t agree that often, but I am all for this idea!"

The two began discussing how they would punish Nikolai, but the banter eventually shifted to a more serious conversation.

"You know that kid, Nikolai, shocked me today. I didn’t expect that kid to rise so fast, that kind of aura—what did we leave him to endure to reach that level in less than two years?" Dimitri offered a rare sense of regret and doubt.

"It’s just the times... what can we do about it now? He would’ve just done the same even if we offered help; those kids just like that."

"Just like his dad." Elizabeth narrows her eyes and looks at the slightly shocked Ivan.

"True, he’s so much like you it’s scary." Dimitri chuckles.

"Though our daughter is the one to be scared of..." Nagisa mutters under her breath as she wipes the girl’s face with a soft wipe. "If you saw her face when on the phone earlier..." Her shoulders tremble as she covers her face. "My dear son, I pray you prepare yourself for a long, long night."

...

Nikolai stood under a streetlight a few blocks from their mansion.

He stood at the place Nikita texted for him to wait at after he left the meeting, still wearing his smart black suit with a wine-red lining, and on his wrist an expensive platinum watch with various apps installed.

"She’s a little late..." He mumbled while leaning against the white wall.

Vrooom!

A loud rumbling echoed, followed by the thunderous howl of a motorbike.

The bike squealed loudly, growing closer the longer it sounded, until finally all that remained was a low rumbling.

"Hm?"

Nikolai raised his head to find a petite woman in tight leather pants, a raised white t-shirt, and a leather jacket around her shoulders.

’What a fine ass...’

He couldn’t help but glance briefly at the heart shape wrapped tightly by her leather riding pants, before she turned her head.

Inside the helmet, a pair of brilliant yellow eyes shone.

"Like what you see, big boy?" Nikita raised her lip with a smirk.

Not one to hold back, he nodded. "I love what I see. I’ve been looking for a woman like you all my life. Are you interested in going for a meal?"

"Hmmm~"

He could see her eyes narrowing as she bit her lip, the pretty wolf removed her helmet and kicked the pedal beneath her bike, resting against the chassis with her plump butt.

When she stretched to remove the helmet, he almost laughed as Nikita vainly flexed her abdominal muscles in an appeal to him.

"Are you sure you can keep up with me?"

’It seems she wants to maintain this, bad ass biker girl persona...’

Though with the Fenrir tattoos peeking from the gaps in her clothes, he couldn’t help but grow excited about her current look.

"Kyaa!?"

Nikolai approached her with swift, confident steps, wrapping his arm behind her. He held her waist and lifted her onto the bike with ease.

The cute squeal that left her mouth brought a smile to Nikolai’s lips as he climbed behind her and hugged her tight.

’Just like her daughters...’

He leaned beside her face and kissed her cheek.

"You’re cute, hurry and get that helmet on, and take me to dinner."

No matter how hard she tried, the poor wolf could only throw her helmet on while struggling to hide her bright red cheeks.

Nikolai closed his eyes as the low rumble of the engine erupted, and they shot off towards their destination.

’This might just be a wonderful evening, after all.’
