Chapter 1072: Fresh Meat [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]
"Should I make a move?" the Knight Commander asked calmly. "Although the Assassin Guild had been wiped out over half a year ago, there is already another one up and running," he suggested.
Viscount Raymond’s eyes narrowed as fear flashed in his eyes. Although he was angry and screamed that he would kill the Tenth Sun, he wasn’t an idiot. Which Noble didn’t know that the Duke of the Wargrave had wiped out the entire Assassin Guild with nothing but a few Knights and his own personal strength, while Malrik erased the others across the entire Empire?
If he dared place a bounty, the new Assassins wouldn’t even accept it. They would instantly reject it and might even send word to the Wargraves just to curry favor with them. And if the former Assassin Guild could be wiped out and the Imperial Family could be defeated by the Wargraves, then he, a measly Viscount, would be slapped to death with a single attack.
Although he was angry, he wasn’t an idiot or anything of the sort. Even if he wanted to make a move against the Tenth Sun, he had to make sure it was perfect and couldn’t somehow bite back. But he knew that was almost next to impossible, as even the Emperor had been exposed.
"No," Viscount Raymond finally answered as fear made him see reason. "Leave the Tenth Sun. I’m sure with his talent, the other Empires wouldn’t let him grow. Even that Consumed Organization will surely make a move," he stated as he forced himself to calm down.
The Knight Commander, hearing Viscount Raymond’s words, seemed disappointed, but he simply nodded. He wasn’t disappointed because he wanted to make a move, no, far from that. He was disappointed because if Viscount Raymond made a move out of anger and spite, then the Wargraves could kill this man, hence setting himself free. Although he would be involved in the battlefield, he would simply stall against a fellow Spark Soulstar Life Ranker Knight.
And after that, he didn’t plan to serve another Noble.
"As for the Swig family," Viscount Raymond continued, "the Tenth Sun can’t protect them forever. Once they leave the Tenth Sun’s protection, kill them all, and when you do, kidnap and bring Teo to me. I will kill him myself after having my fill of fun," his tone turning dangerous as he wasn’t just going to let go.
Although the Tenth Sun might have won this time, he would bide his time and retaliate, a couple of months at most, since the Tenth Sun would be at the Star Academy and the Swig family wouldn’t stay at the Wargrave Estate forever, as they would eventually have to leave and settle down.
"As you command, Lord Raymond," the Knight Commander bowed as he accepted the order.
With that, the Viscount turned towards the door, but as he got to the door, he stopped and then turned his head towards the Knight Commander and gave another order.
"By 1 a.m., bring me six fresh pieces of meat. Make sure they are tender and fine," he stated and walked away without waiting for the Knight Commander’s response.
The tender and fine meat here referred to another group of boys he was going to violate. He hadn’t had any fun in six years. Six boys should satisfy him while his hunger for Teo Swig grew.
Outside in the sky, Asher removed the illusion hiding him, Lyra, and the Teo family after they crossed a certain distance.
Although he could have simply teleported with this family of three and Lyra, he felt as though he should allow them to see the outside world. After all, who knew how long it had been for them? He didn’t just want to teleport them from one room to another, or rather, from one Territory to another.
So, allowing them to see the sky, the sun, the clouds, the trees, everything else would be sort of refreshing for them.
And indeed, the Swig family stared outside with longing in their eyes. Even the child they carried also stared with curiosity. Asher simply nodded to Lyra, she removed the dome over them while she slowed her speed and allowed the wind to caress their skin.
Hours passed before they arrived at the Wargrave Estate. It was already dark as the moon hung in the sky, blessing the world with its silver rays.
As Asher landed and walked into the Wargrave Estate, various maids and butlers couldn’t help but send a glance as they wondered where the Tenth Sun had picked up this family. But they didn’t dare look too much, as they immediately focused on their work. They would all gossip about it later on.
Asher led the family to his former room. He had already come to the conclusion that he didn’t really need to ask permission before bringing anyone to the Wargrave Estate.
Getting to his former room, Asher turned to the family as he spoke.
"You will be safe here," his tone calm. "This is the Wargrave Estate and Territory. No harm will reach you here," he reassured. "A few maids and butlers will be here to prepare the bath and help you. Food and clothing will be provided."
The family still simply just nodded, not saying anything, not breaking down in any form of tears or saying a word of gratitude. To them, until they saw their son, this building was simply a better and more lavish prison; that was all.
"If you want to look around, you can leave the room, but you can’t leave the Estate without my personal maid following you for protection," Asher continued even though all he received was a nod.
But he didn’t judge or say anything. He understood their predicament.
He looked at their condition one last time, then sighed as he turned around and walked out of the room. The moment he and Lyra stepped out, Lyra immediately went to inform various maids and butlers to carry out the Tenth Sun’s orders while Asher headed to his own room to wait for Lyra.
Soon, Lyra was done giving instructions to a group of maids and butlers. She swiftly returned to Asher’s door and stood outside.
"Lyra," Asher called her to enter the room.
Lyra entered the room with a calm step as she had changed into her maid uniform earlier while she was addressing the maids and butlers.
"I need you to meet up with Uncle Zarek again," Asher began to speak. "I need every piece of information on Viscount Raymond’s children," he gave an instruction.
"As you command, Young Master," Lyra stated and immediately turned and walked away.
Although she wondered what Asher wanted to do with the information, she didn’t really ask. Although she and Asher were close, she refused to cross certain lines and question the Young Master.
Within two minutes, Lyra was back. Not that the information gathering was that swift, but earlier today, when Asher had asked for pictures of the Swig family, Zarek had also investigated the entire Raymond family and kept the file just in case Asher ever needed it.
Truly, Zarek was methodical. Such a man was worthy of being Azaron’s right-hand man.
