Chapter 1166: Bloodline Of Doom [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]
At the Emovira’s words, the Monkey stayed silent for a moment, then spoke as it leaned back into its throne.
"So only his final and ultimate attack can injure us, huh? And that only if we are caught off guard."
The Myth-Class Monkey stared at Asher for a moment, then continued, its excitement reducing noticeably as boredom seemed to return to its face.
"And even if we are caught off guard by his final attack, it would just be a regular injury that we can heal."
It sighed in finality as it prepared to simply lie back down on its throne and sleep the month away. If this was any other Wargrave, it would have been extremely interested and happy to fight and test this so-called Bloodline Of Doom.
Bloodline Of Doom was what Monsters and Emovirae who had achieved adult Human-level intelligence referred to the Wargrave Bloodline as.
The Monkey had heard about the Bloodline Of Doom from other Monsters in its Class. It had also heard that a descendant of the Bloodline Of Doom presided over this Frontier, so it had accepted the ’mission’ and told the Emovira about it and dragged it along.
Just to find out they were only being used as a decoy for something beneath them. It could only spend most of its time sleeping throughout the month and a half.
The Emovira, seeing the Monkey lose interest, sighed as it wanted to just give up on this friend of its. It simply decided to cheer its friend up.
"This is someone from the Bloodline Of Doom we are talking about. Although he might be on the weaker end, the power he showed last was from almost a year ago, and given the growth rate of the Bloodline Of Doom, the Tenth Sun would certainly be stronger now."
The Emovira continued staring at its friend, finally giving a smile filled with friendliness and warmth as it continued speaking.
"Given the timeframe of almost a year, he should be able to exchange a few attacks with us before he loses. That should be enough to entertain you for a while, right?"
It asked calmly as it tried to bring back the earlier enthusiasm the friend felt earlier.
The Monkey stayed silent for a moment, then sighed weakly as it spoke.
"Well, we shall see when he gets here. Although I would rather the so-called Commander of this place find us first so we can take him on and have an exciting battle."
Its tone was longing as it stared into the distance, imagining the scene of him, his friend, the Emovira, and the Bloodline Of Doom descendant who was the Commander of this place fighting to their utmost satisfaction.
The Emovira stayed silent for a moment, then shook his head. Ever since this friend of its heard about the Bloodline Of Doom, the Monkey had almost become obsessed with it.
But what it couldn’t bring itself to tell the Monkey was that if the Commander of this Frontier ever sniffed out their existence, they would be wiped out before the both of them could even finish a thought.
It could only hope that those who gave the Monkey this mission finished whatever they were doing so they could get the fuck out of this place.
Although Negative Emovirae were Monsters born out of negative emotions, they almost never showed true emotions towards another living being.
Even Sinvaira who gathered together didn’t exactly ’love’ each other, nor were they all friends. They had all simply come into existence within around the same timeframe, hence living the past thousands of years together, hence tolerating each other to the highest level.
But right here and now, this Negative Emovira that possessed a singular eye and the Monkey Monster were true friends. Which was truly staggering, as in all of existence, such a thing had never happened.
They had known each other for a couple of months; that was how long their friendship had lasted.
And indeed, they were true friends, as if they weren’t, the Emovira wouldn’t even be here, as only the Monkey had been paid to be here. The Emovira had simply come along for the fun of it, bringing other weaker Negative Emovirae with it.
But this begged the question: if a Monster and a Negative Emovira could become true friends, had a Human and an Emovira, positive or negative, ever copulated? Can an Emovira feel true love?
But alas, there was no one to answer these questions.
The Emovira’s eyes shifted towards the ground. It stared at it for a moment, then sighed and shook its head. It had tried finding out what was happening below, but it couldn’t, as the Monkey didn’t allow it, as it was one of the conditions within the ’mission.’
With that, it closed its eyes and waited for Asher to reach them.
---
Kilometers away from the Monster and Emovira’s location, Corporal Sonya and the Cadets had already moved into one of the tunnels.
Asher walked behind them as he was made in charge of the rear since he was the strongest person here. Corporal Sonya walked at the front. As the Monsters and Emovirae poured forward, she didn’t fight any of them; she would simply stand upside down on the ceiling and watch the four Cadets fight continuously.
She had also instructed Asher not to interfere. After all, Soldiers could only grow through constant battles, and these four commoners had barely fought Beasts and Monsters in their lives; their experience was pitiful compared to that of a normal Soldier.
Although Asher walked the same tunnel with them, his senses weren’t exactly here. They were focused on the two Rank 8 beings, as he didn’t want them to make a sudden move.
Cadet James rolled to the side as he dodged a claw attack from an Emovira, the attack tearing the earthen ground open like a hot knife through butter. Cadet James immediately shot to his feet from the ground, his spear thrusting towards the Emovira’s chest. Flesh tore open as green blood splattered against his body.
The Emovira’s body hit the ground, then turned to dust.
Cadet James possessed a Great Hammer. It spun in her hand as she met the abdomen with brutal force. With a boom, the Monster was instantly squashed. But with her focusing on one Monster, an Emovira attacked from the side.
Her eyes snapped towards the Emovira. She moved to block, but her reaction was too slow. The Emovira’s fist met her side, her body skidding against the earth until she came to a stop.
She stared at the Emovira, then dashed forward, closing the distance in a couple of seconds as she continued to engage without hesitation.
Cadet Iris wore a grim expression as she exchanged a series of attacks with a panther. Any battle-hardened Soldier would be able to see she had no experience in battle, but she still faced her opponent without too much fear.
Cadet Ken moved with a dagger in hand; he seemed to possess more experience than the rest. He didn’t parry or exchange any attacks. Any attack against him was simply dodged by the narrowest margin, then he followed it up with an attack to a vital organ, ending the battle.
Corporal Sonya stood as she watched them without Astra Energy, as she had told them to fight without relying on it.
