Chapter 1167: Handle It [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]

As they cleared the path by killing the mobs, Asher’s eyes flickered for a moment as he spoke.

"A Rank 7 Emovira is making its way towards us."

His tone was steady and informative as he stared ahead, his purple eyes fixed on the Emovira despite the distance.

At his words, the determination the Cadets had found earlier by taking down numerous mobs wavered. Who didn’t understand what a Rank 7 Emovira meant?

With a thought, their Life-Saving Orbs appeared in their hands as they hid the hands holding them behind their backs, waiting for the Tenth Sun to handle it.

"Handle it."

Corporal Sonya’s voice came from ahead without a change in expression as she came to a stop.

She had already discussed with Asher, and he had said that he could handle everything within the underground space, and if anything he couldn’t handle stepped forward, he would give the signal and they would all escape.

If it were another Cadet, she wouldn’t have trusted them, but this was a Wargrave, and she had watched the Inter-Empire Tournament. She knew just how strong Asher really was.

Asher nodded as he walked forward, finally happy that something mildly interesting was happening, although he knew the real show was happening below the second underground space.

As he walked, he and the Rank 7 Emovira finally met, their eyes locking together. The Emovira stood with a sabre hanging on its waist, its muscles bulging as veins snaked down its biceps and arms.

They both stood at equal heights, none taller than the other.

"It seems I finally get to taste Human blood after a while."

The Emovira spoke, a small cold smile appearing on its face. Just like the Monkey, it too was bored out of its mind, just sitting here and doing utterly nothing.

Without waiting for Asher to reply, the Emovira unsheathed its sabre, and in one smooth motion, it moved to sever Asher’s neck. The blade cut through the air, meeting nothing but empty space as Asher was no longer standing opposite it.

The Emovira frowned. It looked around in confusion, as it didn’t see Asher. It didn’t bother searching; it simply focused its gaze on the four Cadets and Corporal Sonya. But before it could move, Asher’s voice came from above.

"If you tell me what is happening below, I will make your death painless."

He proposed calmly, his voice flat and neutral as he stared down at the Emovira.

Tracing the voice, the Emovira looked upwards to see Asher on its head with his hand clasped behind him. Asher hadn’t teleported there; he had simply moved with such speed that the Emovira hadn’t sensed it.

The Emovira didn’t hesitate. It immediately sent out a fist towards Asher’s knees. But Asher was already gone, its fist meeting nothing but air yet again. Asher appeared in a blur, his speed akin to teleportation, his knee meeting the Emovira’s face with battering force.

The Emovira shot backwards like a missile, the momentum carrying it backward. Asher immediately landed, then moved without hesitation. He caught the Emovira by the face as it was still midair, then slammed it into the ground with immense force.

A booming shockwave tore through the tunnel as the walls cracked from the sheer power. Asher rose from his position, raising the Emovira by the head as he spoke.

"Your answer?"

He asked calmly as the Emovira’s blood from its bleeding, shattered skull dripped to the ground and down his hands. With just a single slam, he had incapacitated a Rank 7 Emovira like it was some random low-ranked Emovira.

The Emovira didn’t speak. Its fingernail merely extended as it moved to hack Asher’s flesh. But before the fingernail could even touch Asher’s forearm, Asher clenched his fist with ease, the Emovira’s head exploding outwards. The headless corpse fell to the ground with a thud, stirring up not even the faintest of dust.

He stared at the corpse, which turned into dust the next moment, then shook his head. Although he wanted answers, there were three more Rank 7 beings remaining here: two Monsters at the Crown-Class and one Rank 7 Emovira.

He turned around and glanced at the other Cadets and Corporal Sonya. They stood stunned as they stared at him. They had expected some big battle, not things ending this swiftly and instantly.

Asher might have wanted to play around with the Emovira, but this wasn’t the place. Any Rank 7 being could unleash enough power to reduce everything within a three-hundred-kilometer radius to cinders and smithereens. He and the Rank 7 Emovira would put the Cadets and Corporal Sonya in danger instead if they were to truly fight.

Corporal Sonya’s neutral face broke as she gave a smile for a moment, then nodded as she understood that Asher was asking permission to move forward. She understood that if they came at this pace, it would take a long time to clear this place and get to the second underground space.

Receiving the permission, Asher turned, then blurred into the tunnel. Any Monster or Emovira he met was instantly erased with a singular fist attack. He didn’t bother to draw Virelass from her scabbard, as there was no need for her to be used against these small fries.

Within a couple of seconds, he had cleared the tunnel. His head snapped to the side as his fist met the walls of the tunnel. A booming sound echoed as the walls shattered and a hole tore open in the wall.

As the hole tore open, eyes instantly snapped open as Monsters and Emovirae poured forward through the hole, moving to attack Asher, but he simply flicked his wrist with a bored expression.

With that simple motion, every life form Rank 6 and below was erased, bodies tearing into pieces as blood splattered. He walked through the corpses as he made his way towards the three Rank 7 beings.

But the three were no longer there. They shot forward from their various locations. One of them was an Insect-type Monster, the other a Spider-type, and the Emovira was unique in its own way as it shot forward.

The Insect-type closed in with pure speed as it flapped its wings. It appeared before Asher in less than a blink, its scythe-shaped limbs rising and falling as it moved to split Asher in perfect half.

But to Asher, the speed was simply too slow. He leaned to the side, dodging the attack with calm ease. The moment he dodged, his hand shot out like a spear, his bare fingers tearing through the Insect Monster’s skull before it could even react. He waved his hand, tossing the corpse to the side without batting an eye in its direction.

Asher’s eyes snapped to the side as the Spider Monster shot out webs coated in poison. As the attack closed in to ensnare him, he vanished from his position, his figure appearing beside the Spider Monster. His forearm blurred as he moved his hand vertically, and with sickening ease, he tore the Spider apart from the abdomen.

Green blood splattered to the ground as the Monster collapsed to the ground with a thud.

The Rank 7 Emovira didn’t dare move. It finally recognized the power gap between it and the Human standing before it. It tried to turn and make a run for it, but unfortunately, it was already too late, as its entire chest was torn open before it could even see Asher move.

Its body turned into dust as its blood remained. Such was the gap between a Rank 7 entity and a Rank 8 being.

If the gap wasn’t that large, then these Rank 7 Emovirae wouldn’t listen to the orders of the Rank 8 Emovira, and the Crown-Class Monsters wouldn’t listen to the Monkey.
