Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1181: Transformation

Chapter 1181: Transformation

As Lyra was done explaining how the activation of the black orbs worked, another issue arose; who was going to plant them throughout the silver underground bunker?

For one, Asher himself couldn’t do it, as to do so, he had to step out of the Second Layer of Space, which he couldn’t do because if he did, he would be stuck at the First Layer of Space until he left the silver underground bunker or entered this tunnel without getting caught.

Which was almost impossible given the outrageous number of soldiers here and the restrictions against using any form of energy.

Of course, he had learnt stealth back at the Star Academy and had passed the class, but that was useless here, as the only way he could evade presences was through the Position Markers, which he wasn’t going to plant here.

Besides, he was already too popular. Once someone saw him, they would instantly know it was him; even his hair color would give him away. So, all in all, it was a bad idea for him to try anything.

’Speaking of energy restrictions, shouldn’t Star Energy be immune or resistant to these restrictions and stuff?’

Asher asked himself in silence as he couldn’t help but consider the matter.

To him, it made sense. This was Star Energy, after all; how could it be unique and special if it was going to be restricted like other forms of energy? That would only put Star Energy on that level.

’Maybe it’s related to my current control over it, just like how me cancelling people’s abilities to manipulate their Astra Energy depends on their own control over their Astra Energy, and also how I was able to awaken the StellarFlame element after my Star Energy control touched a new level.’

He speculated as the idea occurred to him for a moment, but he had no way to confirm it. He could only keep increasing his control over the Star Energy, and if Star Energy became immune to these types of restrictions, then it would be perfect.

Lyra, who was standing opposite Asher, seemed to understand what her Young Master was thinking at this moment, so she decided to give her own suggestion.

"Young Master, what if I go around and plant the black orbs?"

She asked telepathically, her expression calm as she was practically unknown except to people of the Wargrave Estate.

Asher snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes landing on Lyra, his purple eyes meeting her black ones as he spoke.

"Explain further."

His expression remained calm, as he knew Lyra wouldn’t suggest carrying out the task herself without the ability to complete it with a high probability of success.

Lyra nodded as she proceeded to speak and explain her thoughts.

"Young Master, after I acquired the Devour ability for the first time, I prioritized various stealth and infiltration skills and abilities, even acquiring this invisibility ability that doesn’t require Astra Energy was also among my priorities at the time."

She explained telepathically without rushing, as she saw no need to do so.

Asher simply listened as he had already guessed that Lyra’s first objective after acquiring the Devour ability was the acquisition of such abilities and skills before she considered pure destruction and battle-based abilities and skills. But, although he knew this, he just didn’t know how far her abilities and skills went, so he could only listen.

"And among the abilities and skills I acquired is the ability to shapeshift into any living organism, although the moment I shapeshift, I lose my powers, meaning I can’t display the power of a Crownstar Life Ranker, and for me to use my true strength, I would have to undo the shapeshift."

Lyra continued telepathically as she mentioned the restrictions on the ability without hiding them, as she had no reason to do so.

Asher didn’t react to the restriction of the ability as he already knew all abilities had restrictions and limitations, and even if one felt their abilities didn’t have restrictions and limitations, they just hadn’t discovered them.

"And thankfully, when I shapeshift, I can maintain the form without keeping it up through Astra Energy, so even if I shapeshift and return to the silver underground bunker, my transformation won’t be undone until I will it."

Lyra stayed silent as she was done explaining the transformation ability she acquired. Although it wasn’t as powerful as the one Finch and Lior had, it was still better than nothing.

Asher stayed silent as Lyra’s transformation ability could work here, and thankfully, it didn’t need Astra Energy to keep up. But, a possibility existed that all three million Velkarin Soldiers were familiar with each other, although it seemed almost impossible and was a long stretch, as one person being familiar with three million people was a bit insane, it still had to be considered.

After all, if everyone was familiar with one another, then that meant that the first person Lyra came across would instantly expose her.

Asher exhaled slowly as he sighed, it seemed as whenever he found a solution to a problem, another problem arose in tandem. He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them slowly as he made his choice; Lyra would carry out the planting of the orbs.

He had come to the conclusion that it was impossible for three million people to be familiar with each other, and if he was wrong, well, Lyra would just undo her transformation, then activate all the black orbs at the same time while he ran away.

"Use your Transformation ability."

Asher instructed telepathically, his eyes and attention returning to Lyra.

Lyra nodded, Astra Energy hummed from her Astra Veins and her body as the next moment, the transformation began. Her fair, smooth skin began to darken ever so slowly until her skin tone became that of a black woman from the Velkarin Empire.

From her head, her black, strand-like hair turned into a combed afro style, her eyes turned green as tattoos appeared along her arms, her height increasing a bit, her maid uniform vanishing as her clothes transformed too into the style of dressing related to the Velkarin Empire in regard to what she had seen earlier.

On her face, a pair of glasses rested, on her upper and lower lips were lip rings, and on her ears were dangling earrings, and with that, her transformation was complete.

Anyone who knew Lyra in the past and saw her now would only whistle as she stood charming in every possible way.

Asher could only watch in slight mesmerization as this was the first time he was witnessing a genuine transformation and shapeshifting.

There were many things to question about this ability, like where the pair of glasses had come from, the clothes, the earrings and lip rings, but he said nothing; there was no need to make sense of any of it. This was a super-powered world, practically anything went.

"Even if I saw you on the road, I wouldn’t even know it was you."

He couldn’t help but comment as he continued taking in her transformation, not in a sexual way, but out of pure fascination, as he could never see Lyra in such a light.
