Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 637: Mid-tier Ability

Chapter 637: Mid-tier Ability

The moment Daniel’s body slammed into the earth, he rose to his feet and moved, as he dared not stay at his current position for even a fraction of a moment, as he did not want Morthen to take advantage of the moment.

Although his organs seemed like they were failing, he simply stood and moved as though he could still survive a few days without his organs and his injuries. Truly, Crownstar Life Rankers possessed immense vitality, far beyond what ordinary beings could ever hope to comprehend.

As for Gabriel and Israel, they both appeared at another side, unscathed and uninjured, their eyes simply tore through Morthen’s direction, or at least where he was before they had dodged his last attack.

But the next moment, their heads snapped upwards as they sensed Astra energy move, a sudden and oppressive shift that signaled the beginning of another attack.

[Fictional Reality: Gravity Type: Climbing Weight]

Morthen was already on the next move, he did not hesitate to attack, his transitions between abilities seamless and immediate, leaving no room for his opponents to breathe.

Gabriel and Israel immediately felt as though the weight of the entire world had been dropped upon their shoulders, their bodies instantly strained as their muscles coiled and trembled as they struggled to resist the crushing force without kneeling, the pressure threatening to drive them into the ground.

"Gravity shall not be manipulated"

Gabriel immediately spoke as he imposed a rule, the moment he spoke, a significant portion of his Astra energy vanished from his Astra veins, after all, he was imposing a rule upon the very gravity that Morthen was manipulating, an act that demanded a tremendous cost.

The moment the immense weight vanished, Israel vanished from where he stood, using his Overclock ability, he boosted his speed, momentum, and the attack force he was about to unleash, pushing his body to its absolute limits without hesitation.

[Martial Technique: Fist Series: Rampaging Punch]

He closed the distance between him and Morthen with speed greater than anything he had ever moved at before, Overclock further enhancing the power and force behind his technique to a terrifying degree.

Morthen was about to move when Gabriel spoke again, imposing another rule with precise timing.

"Don’t dodge," he stated as he stared at Morthen, his voice firm and wicked, as though he hated Morthen to the core.

But once again, Morthen did not necessarily need to dodge to remain uninjured, to him, Gabriel’s rule was simply an inconvenience, nothing more, something to be worked around rather than obeyed.

[Fictional Reality: Earth Type: Calm Mountain]

His Astra energy pulsed outward from his Astra veins as massive rocks manifested around him, forming a towering wall of defense that fortified itself with immense force and overwhelming weight, a barrier designed to withstand catastrophic impact.

The moment the defense was fully formed, Israel’s fist technique collided against it, his attacks tearing outward rapidly and endlessly like bullets from a machine gun, each strike carrying devastating force. Morthen’s earth defense shook immensely under the relentless assault, cracks spreading rapidly across its surface, but it held firm as Morthen simply channeled more Astra energy into it, repairing the damage as quickly as it formed.

Israel could not help but click his tongue in frustration, even while using his Overclock ability to enhance his strength, his punches, his technique, and his momentum, Morthen’s defense still seemed completely unbreakable, an immovable fortress against his immense offense.

[Fictional Reality: Earth Type: Earth Spikes]

Morthen immediately activated another ability while still within his Calm Mountain defense, his actions fluid and uninterrupted.

Gabriel and Israel immediately frowned the moment they sensed Morthen’s Astra energy shift once more, due to his vast and unpredictable range of abilities, they could not determine what ability he had just activated.

The next moment, Gabriel felt the earth beneath his foot twist violently, and from it, numerous earth spikes erupted towards him with ridiculous speed and lethal precision, one of them tearing towards his jaw as though Morthen intended to render his ability useless by destroying his means of speech.

Gabriel’s spear flashed within his hands, turning into a blur of motion, and before any of the earth spikes could even touch him, he destroyed all of them with precise and efficient strikes, his skill evident in every movement.

Morthen removed his Calm Mountain defense, but the moment he reappeared, he was met with Daniel’s liquid metal already surrounding him. It immediately formed a silver cage, attempting to seal him within its confines. The moment the cage was formed, from its structure, countless silver spikes tore outward from every conceivable direction, aiming to impale him without escape.

Morthen was simply here to play, he did not take the attacks seriously no matter how dangerous they might seem. To another Crownstar Life Ranker, this series of attacks might demand their utmost attention and power, but to him, it was nothing more than mild entertainment.

With a mere thought, his soul-bound book flipped its pages with familiar ease.

[Fictional Reality: Space Type: Spatial Portal]

All around him, portals opened instantly, every silver metal spike tore into them with immense force, but the moment they entered, more portals opened outside the metal cage, the portals appearing around Gabriel, Daniel, and Israel with precise placement.

The moment the portals opened, the three of them reacted instantly, Israel’s speed peaked as his fists blurred to meet every incoming spike, but even that proved insufficient due to the sheer speed and suddenness of the attack. The spikes tore through his body with brutal ease, as he had stopped using his Overclock ability to enhance his defense in order to conserve Astra energy.

Daniel, who controlled the metal spikes, remained unaffected as the spikes halted just before reaching him. But Gabriel was not as fortunate, although he managed to parry several of them, many still tore through his body, leaving him injured.

"All those who are injured will be healed to their peak conditions," Gabriel’s voice rang out as he imposed another rule without hesitation.

The moment he spoke, he, Israel, and Daniel immediately felt a mysterious force act upon them, and in the next instant, their bodies were restored completely, their injuries vanishing as though they had never existed.

Morthen floated calmly, still within the silver cage, completely unbothered by their restored condition, to him, it made no difference, it only meant that these three would not die easily, which simply meant the battle would last longer, and therefore, be more entertaining.

"I hope this is not everything you three have," Morthen spoke, "I am only using my basic abilities as of right now, and not even the mid-tier or advanced ones, if I use those, does that not mean you will simply die, are Crownstar Life Rankers this weak?" he stated with a condescending tone as he looked down on them from above, his gaze filled with amusement.

’Tsk, we are not weak, you Wargraves are just freaks of nature,’ Gabriel could not help but complain within his mind. Even while fighting three against one, they were still on the losing end.

"Cheer up," Morthen spoke with a smile, "I know the perfect thing that will make you all happy... a mid-tier ability from me," he stated in a playful tone, and with that, his soul-bound book flipped its pages once more.

Daniel, Israel, and Gabriel immediately blurred backwards, creating as much distance as possible, whatever was coming, whatever that so-called mid-tier ability was, they could not afford to be anywhere near it.

Morthen’s voice echoed as his Astra energy rumbled with even greater intensity, the air trembling under its weight.

[Fictional Reality: Space Type: Black Hole]

And with that, an apocalypse descended, a world-rending suction force tearing through everything as the very fabric of reality seemed to warp and collapse, the world itself appearing as though it was about to be destroyed entirely.

If any fictional character were present, they would have slapped Morthen for daring to call a black hole a mid-tier ability.

But one could not help but ask, if a Black Hole was merely a mid-tier ability to Morthen, then what exactly did he consider an advanced-tier ability.
