Chapter 992: Rising Scale Of Destruction [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]

Although Azaron had landed two clean attacks while she hadn’t landed any, she didn’t care. It was merely two attacks out of the thousands they had already exchanged. Her grin remained firmly in place, she didn’t speak, nor did she complain, for she had been done speaking the moment Azaron began taking her seriously. Although she was losing the battle of hand-to-hand combat for now, it wasn’t over yet, and it certainly wasn’t time to transition into the next phase of the battle.

Azaron neither spoke nor gloated. It was merely an injury, one that had already healed. It wasn’t fatal or critical, so there was nothing particularly remarkable about it.

With grins spread across their faces, they both vanished from where they stood once again, crossing the distance as though the concepts of space and distance were nothing more than mere suggestions to them.

The moment they appeared before one another, their fists tore toward each other with maniacal glints in their eyes. Yet, even beneath that madness, there was precise calculation. The very next instant, Threshold I immediately disengaged from her own attack as she ducked beneath Azaron’s fist, the resulting shockwave from his punch erasing everything within an eighty-thousand-kilometer radius.

Threshold I, who was now crouching low, didn’t hesitate. The moment Azaron’s attack missed, her body shot upward like a compressed spring as she unleashed a rising kick with her right leg from below, while both her hands and left leg remained anchored to the ground. Her attack screamed toward Azaron’s chin, as though she intended to repay him by striking the very same place where he had landed his first clean hit.

Azaron’s golden eyes snapped toward the incoming kick as it closed the distance in the blink of an eye. His left hand, which had been hanging naturally by his side, immediately moved as his palm streaked forward to catch her foot before it could connect with his chin.

But Threshold I had taken a page directly from Azaron’s own book as she transitioned from merely anticipating an attack to adapting to it on the fly. Her rising kick halted instantly as her left foot, which remained planted upon the ground, twisted while she seamlessly changed postures in one impossibly fluid motion.

The next moment, while still crouching, her left hand shot forward as her fist thundered directly into Azaron’s abdominal muscles with a deafening blast. It was now Azaron’s turn to be caught off guard.

His body shot backward as the tremendous force coursing through him seized control of his momentum, sending him flying across thousands of kilometers. Azaron felt the pain, yet he didn’t react to it in the slightest, simply ignoring it as though it didn’t even exist.

He merely twisted his body before landing effortlessly upon his feet, almost as though he had erased his own momentum from existence entirely.

Threshold I smiled as she stared at Azaron. She had finally landed an attack, and it felt exhilarating and thrilling. After all, how many people in the world could honestly claim to have landed a clean strike against someone like Azaron?

Azaron casually touched his abdominal muscles. He wasn’t injured, not even remotely. His Physique was simply too absurd to sustain meaningful damage from a single punch. Yes, it had been a long time since someone had landed a blow that made him feel genuine pain, but to Azaron, that merely made Threshold I all the more interesting.

The next goal was simple. He wanted to find out whether she could make him bleed.

As that thought lingered within his mind, Threshold I had already closed the distance. Her body flickered into existence beside Azaron as she attacked him with a broad grin, clearly intending to press her advantage.

Azaron’s smile widened even further. He decided to increase the tempo of the battle and see whether Threshold I could truly survive what came next. He was thoroughly enjoying himself.

With that thought, his figure blurred, as though he had been nothing more than an afterimage from the very beginning. He appeared directly behind Threshold I with a broad grin as his fist tore toward her back.

Threshold I felt as though the sun itself had exploded against her back. Her expression immediately tightened as her body shot forward like a bullet. She didn’t need anyone to tell her that Azaron had increased the tempo of the battle by several levels simply because she had finally landed a successful attack.

Without hesitation, she simply tapped into even greater physical strength. Her body rotated gracefully as she skidded to a stop after being blasted across a hundred-thousand-kilometer radius because of that single punch. The instant she came to a halt, Azaron was already upon her once more, a wide grin spread across his face.

As he remained suspended in midair, his leg lashed through the air like a colossal whip as he aimed directly for her chest, completely unconcerned whether she possessed breasts or a flat chest. Any woman who wasn’t his wife simply wasn’t worthy of his romantic or sexual intentions or attention.

"BRING IT ON!!!" Threshold I shouted, pure ecstasy and exhilaration blazing within her eyes.

Her muscles tightened as veins bulged beneath her skin. Her forearm snapped upward, blocking Azaron’s kick with perfect timing. At the same time, her other hand immediately caught him by the ankle while he still remained suspended in midair, and without wasting even a heartbeat, she shifted her stance as she moved to slam Azaron into the ground like a ragdoll.

As Azaron’s back became parallel to the ground in the middle of the slam, he reacted instantly. He bent his spine backward with extraordinary flexibility, channeling strength into the leg that Threshold I had caught before transferring that force through his waist. The next moment, he lifted her completely off the ground while she still held onto him, making it appear as though she herself was performing an involuntary front-flip while still gripping him.

Azaron completed the absurd maneuver. Threshold I was ripped completely off the ground before being violently flung through the air and slammed into the earth by Azaron through the very leg she had been gripping, while Azaron himself landed effortlessly upon his own feet.

Threshold I felt pain surge through her back, yet she ignored it entirely. She was far more stunned that Azaron had managed to devise such an absurd counterattack. But Azaron wasn’t surprised in the slightest. To him, this was perfectly normal, so he was already moving once again.

With Threshold I lying at the bottom of the massive ravine that had been carved open by her impact, Azaron immediately turned and unleashed yet another apocalyptic punch.

Threshold I didn’t dare remain where she was. She immediately released Azaron’s ankle and vanished from the spot where she had landed as every instinct within her screamed of imminent danger. The instant she dodged away, Azaron’s fist reached the exact position where her face had been only a fraction of a second earlier, and the moment his fist connected with empty space, the entire battlefield shuddered violently as a sinkhole spanning over two hundred thousand kilometers in radius was carved into existence, resembling nothing less than a colossal void gouged into the landscape itself as the scale of destruction rose once again to a different scale.

There was no dust. There were no earthquakes. How could either exist when Azaron had erased everything with a single punch? Only the sound of the air itself imploding echoed throughout the ruined battlefield as even space itself strained before slowly stitching itself back together. The sheer magnitude of such power bordered upon pure madness.

Azaron’s Wargrave Physique, which had seemingly lain dormant for all these years, appeared to be awakening once more. He slowly floated upward, for there was no longer any land beneath him upon which to stand.

His eyes shifted toward Threshold I, his body humming as though it desired even more battle, more destruction, and more exhilaration. His golden eyes maniacally firmly onto Threshold I.

Threshold I showed no fear whatsoever. She knew exactly what the Wargrave Physique represented, and if she had dared to challenge Azaron in a contest of nothing but pure Physique and raw physical strength, then she would see that challenge through until the very end and match it.

And so, she met Azaron’s scene of destruction with nothing but pure thrill coursing through her mortal body.
