Chapter 632 No Worries With Preparation.txt

Shinji stared at Luluane, the woman who claimed to be an apostle of the goddess. The moment he heard the word “goddess,” he had instinctively blurted out, “You too?” He immediately realized the slip. If he hadn’t said anything, she might not have figured out his connection to the goddess at all.
Luluane, noticing his silence, spoke calmly, as if assuming he was disoriented from the summoning.
”I acted as a decoy, but there were more enemies than expected… I used a catalyst the goddess gave me—something meant for emergencies. That’s how I summoned you. I didn’t realize it would call another apostle, but… in this situation, it makes sense. Um… could it be that you haven’t heard anything from the goddess?”
Though her tone remained even, a flicker of doubt crossed her face. When Shinji gave a small nod, she visibly paled.
Summoning someone without warning—without even trying to prepare them—bordered on kidnapping unless it was truly an accident. Even with good reason, pulling someone across worlds was reckless. If there was no explanation… even a sincere apology might not be enough.
Luluane’s lips trembled.
”I’m truly sorry! I don’t even know how to begin apologizing!”
She lowered her head over and over, her face drained of color. Shinji could tell she meant it. He could’ve just left, but he saw no sign of malice in her actions—only regret and a desperate wish to make things right.
”I understand. If it was an accident, then I accept your apology. Please, raise your head.”
”Thank you…”
Her voice trembled like she might burst into tears any second. Shinji smiled gently, though inwardly, he remained cautious. If this was all just an act, it was a damn good one.
”I’m Shinji. I’m also an apostle of the same goddess as you. Just like you said, I didn’t receive any explanation either. Normally, I’d expect at least a briefing. So yeah, I’m a bit lost… but this isn’t the best place for a chat, is it?”
Luluane nodded, glancing at the unconscious figures nearby. Meanwhile, Shinji scanned the area with Freri, who had already gone ahead to check the surroundings. Several enemy groups were circling nearby, dressed in the same uniforms.
”Yes… We’re still deep in enemy territory. I stayed behind as a decoy to help my disciple and the one we need to rescue escape. There are likely more enemies close by.”
”Then let’s move. We can talk more once we’ve reached safety. Is that alright?”
”Of course. Thank you… truly.”
”Don’t mention it. We’re fellow apostles, after all.”
His casual tone put Luluane at ease. She knew the fault was hers and didn’t want to argue here—one wrong move, and this could’ve turned deadly. Knowing Shinji was level-headed gave her some relief.
(It doesn’t look like we’ll be summoned back to our original world anytime soon. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to stay on good terms with the other apostles.)
Unbeknownst to her, Shinji had already contacted Flair through Freri, checking if the goddess Arian was aware of his summoning.
Luluane, on the other hand, lacked any direct way to reach the goddess. Without a shrine set up, there was no means for divine messages or even mental contact in this place.
He had told Coral he was called away for apostolic duties—a cover to avoid causing a stir. And now he asked Freri if he could pass a message to Renka.
’I’ve already told Renka and Alvin not to worry,’ she replied.
A small weight lifted off his shoulders. At least they had a backup plan for situations like this. Better safe than sorry.
“Mufu~♪”
Freri peeked out from behind Shinji but refused to speak, communicating only through telepathy. To Luluane, it felt like being ignored. He didn’t have the tools to understand the exchange and interpreted it as rejection.
Having seen Shinji summon Freri earlier, Luluane assumed she was some kind of familiar or servant. But Freri’s cold demeanor left her uneasy. Her brow furrowed slightly, though she kept her thoughts to herself.
”She’s just shy, so don’t worry about her,” Shinji said with a soft smile. “Now, let’s move to a safer place.”
”…Understood. I’ll summon a guide.”
Luluane’s magic flared to life, a pulse of energy rippling through the air. Shinji’s eyes widened as he sensed the spell forming—but there was no magic circle. None at all. Intrigued, he leaned forward, trying to grasp the mechanics behind it, but it defied everything he knew. His jaw dropped slightly.
”Come! White Wolf!”
A tear in space opened before them, swirling with faint light. From within, a large wolf with pristine white fur leapt forth. Its magical presence was strong—impressive—but not on the level of Freri, Shinji noted silently.
”We’re heading back to the base. We’ll avoid enemy patrols as we go. Can you manage that?”
”Gau!”
”We’re ready,” Luluane said, climbing onto the wolf’s back. “Let’s go.”
”Right.”
Despite its beastly form, the white wolf was more than just muscle. It understood Luluane perfectly and needed no detailed commands. With cautious, deliberate steps, it led them through the forest, pausing whenever Freri’s detection magic sensed movement. It even stopped to let patrols pass before resuming the path.
Shinji followed closely, silently impressed. No hesitation, no wasted steps… She summoned this from another world? Worth it.
What fascinated him more, though, was the nature of Luluane’s magic. No magic circle for the summoning… But the wolf itself uses magic circles when casting… That’s strange. Could the summoning spell be unique? Or is their entire magic system different?
The thought reminded him of <Spirit Summoning>, a rare magic often considered “special” by the Adventurer’s Guild. Freri, still ahead, seemed to read his thoughts.
’I’ve found something. Looks like a destination. But… there’s a fight.’
’Can you give me details?’ Shinji asked.
Through her link, he saw what she saw: a rough, makeshift base surrounded by wooden fencing. It was primitive, but twin-layered magic barriers gave it more strength than it appeared.
At the edge of the barrier, a commotion had broken out. Two women wielding naginatas were shouting, trying to leave the safety of the camp. Several men were blocking their way, urging them to wait.
’They’re trying to find their master,’ Freri added. ‘The men want them to stay, but the girls look ready to break through.’
’Apprentices… So Luluane wasn’t lying.’ Shinji paused, weighing his options. ‘Let’s watch a bit longer. No need to get involved yet.’
’Understood.’
Luluane, unaware of the argument, turned to Shinji. “We’ll arrive soon—”
She stopped mid-sentence, a flicker of awareness crossing her face. Without another word, she sped up.
With speed far beyond an average adventurer, she darted through the forest and broke through the treeline, bursting into the scene.
”What are you two doing!”
””Master!!””
The two girls dropped their weapons and rushed toward her. Luluane opened her arms and caught them both with a relieved smile, holding them tightly.
From the outside, it looked less like a teacher greeting students—and more like an older sister reuniting with her family.
Shinji watched silently, not wanting to intrude on the emotional moment.
’Shinji,’ Freri spoke up again. ‘Flair got through to the goddess.’
’Really? That was fast. Then I guess we’re—’
’Not quite. It’s complicated… This world isn’t under Goddess Arian. Luluane serves a different goddess entirely. They’re discussing things now.’
Shinji blinked.
’…You’ve gotta be kidding me.’
As the white wolf vanished into light, its task complete, Shinji approached the small group, still processing what he’d heard.
So this wasn’t just a summoning mistake… Something bigger’s going on.
Luluane is a summoner.
She joins the disciples of the apostle.
And it turns out that even among apostle of the same goddess, they serve different goddesses.
Notes:
• Luluane – Female. An apostle of a different goddess. She has long, flowing hair and a pale complexion. She is sincere and remorseful for the accidental summoning, repeatedly apologizing and showing genuine concern. Her relationship with Shinji is initially tense but becomes more relaxed as they work together. She is also a summoner and has a close bond with her disciples, who see her as an older sister figure.
