Chapter 649 The Man Who Inspired Fear

Chapter 649 The Man Who Inspired Fear

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The morning after Shinji received the devoted service of Tiona and Tiana, and Freri secretly subdued the succubi, a joint meeting between the goddess’s apostles and the Resistance Liberators had turned into Shinji’s stage alone.

The meeting began with a report that Shinji had defeated the succubi. In truth, he had captured and brought them under his command—but no one there could have known that.

”I’ve gained quite a bit of information,” Shinji said calmly. “Allow me to share it with everyone.”

The roughly drawn map spread across the table began to fill with detail as his words flowed. He marked the royal capital of the Sect Theocracy—their ultimate target—and explained how four demons were invading from the north, south, east, and west.

The one he had defeated ruled the southern region, the direction of their current base. One by one, he revealed what the Resistance had longed to know: where the towns had fallen, where prisoners were kept, where the demons had set their camps.

Not a word of his was missed. The Resistance members scribbled notes, copying down rough maps and updating them line by line.

”There’s even a prison camp there…!”

”With all this information, we can plan deeper strategies!”

”That’s some vicious magic—but if we know in advance, we can prepare. Let’s inform the combat units!”

”Only a few Apostles of God remain as threats. With this, we can finally make bold moves!”

The officers rejoiced at the information—especially about the Apostle succubi who had been forced to kneel yesterday, taken down by Luluane and the others. That was a huge win.

Freri had forced the succubi to obey her and spill secrets, so there was still plenty more they could reveal.

If they shared intel from the other regions too—north, east, west—the Resistance everywhere would benefit. But if Shinji said too much, they might question how he had obtained it all from just one demon.

Even so, he knew there was one powerful card he could play without breaking his cover.

When Shinji spoke of a possible ‘royal capital assault’—something only possible through his magic, the World Gate—the room fell utterly silent.

”We could seize territory bit by bit,” he said, his tone as even as ever. “But striking straight at the capital will end this faster. I have the magic to make that happen.”

For them, a magic that could send an entire army straight into enemy territory was beyond belief. If such a spell truly existed, wars between nations would end in days, and entire continents could be conquered.

Though Shinji mentioned that he was bound by certain oaths, even that couldn’t lessen the weight of his words.

The Resistance felt awe crawling down their spines. His calmness—the way he spoke as if wielding such power was natural—made them tremble.

Luluane and the others had always believed in the power of the goddess’s apostles, but even so, they understood that their abilities had limits. One person couldn’t change a whole country.

But Shinji’s magic could. His power broke the limits of common sense.

He claimed to be just a messenger—a man sent by the goddess—but to those watching, he felt more divine than any god. The Resistance saw that difference clearly, and it made them revere him.

”What will you do?” Shinji asked softly. “If we build our strategy around the World Gate, I’ll give you my full support.”

His voice echoed through the silent canopy.

Though the strange mood made him uneasy, Shinji didn’t realize how much he was overwhelming them. Then Richt stepped forward, bowing deeply with absolute respect.

”Thank you,” Richt said, his voice trembling. “Please, lend us your strength!”

The other leaders followed, their heads lowered. Caught off guard by their reverence, Shinji blinked, but quickly recovered, smiling gently as he gestured for Richt to rise.

”All right,” he said. “Let’s work out the details, then.”

”Yes, sir! You heard him—let’s plan!”

”Yeah!”

From there, the strategy meeting began in full. Luluane watched with shining eyes, like she was seeing something sacred.

Those who once refused to rely on gods were now growing faith. Luluane almost cried at the sight.

She understood what they had once felt—that she and the other apostles were seen only as tools, as partners in combat, not equals. She had hoped that through battle and trust, they would eventually change, come to thank Goddess Padra who had sent her.

Yet in only a few days, Shinji had achieved what she could not. It moved her deeply.

There was no bitterness in her heart, no trace of envy. Luluane, as a devout servant of the goddess, only rejoiced that another had brought more believers to their cause.

(He truly is wonderful… To learn beside such an incredible man… I can never thank Goddess Padra-sama enough…)

Her eyes stayed fixed on him, glowing with admiration. Tiana and Tiona noticed Luluane’s admiring gaze, and both silently reaffirmed their commitment to Shinji, grateful for the bond they had formed the night before.

(That man can do anything, can’t he?)

(I can see why Goddess Arian-sama holds him in such high regard… and, well, he’s incredible in other ways too… ♡)

Tiona’s body flushed just from remembering the night before.

What had begun as forced service—a reminder of her painful past—had turned into the most fulfilling night of her life. As a woman, she had never felt so complete.

Unlike Tiana, whose will was firm, Tiona had been easily broken open by his touch. After long loneliness, the pleasure Shinji gave was like poison—sweet and consuming.

She could still say it was for her Master Luluane’s sake, but in truth, she no longer wanted to refuse. She wanted to serve him again.

(Tonight… I have to serve again. Master must have fallen for him even more… I’ll have to make sure our promise is kept… so I’ll…)

Shinji had already ruined her in every way.

Lost in pink thoughts, Tiona began planning how best to please him next. Tiana had no idea her sister-disciple was already that far gone.

By the end of the meeting, they had decided to gather forces from across the land, then launch a direct assault on the royal capital using the World Gate. For now, they would stay in their temporary base, waiting for the day to come.

The plan was set. The room’s air buzzed with faith and fear—and somewhere among them, Shinji stood quietly, smiling as though everything was already his.
