Chapter 650 A Man who Gains Results in Secret
Chapter 650 A Man who Gains Results in Secret
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The Resistance Liberators decided to commit almost all their forces to the plan to completely subdue the Sect Theocracy’s royal capital, leaving only the minimum necessary to maintain the defense line. Consequently, forces from various regions began to converge on the temporary base where Shinji was located.
The full mobilization would conclude in four days, and Shinji and his companions resolved to wait for that time at the temporary base.
However, simply waiting without doing anything would be a waste of time. To make effective use of the waiting period, Shinji settled down at his personal Canopy and, for the first time in a while, dedicated himself to magic research.
(Honestly, I’d like to go back for a bit…)
He recalled the face of his pregnant wife, Renka, who remained in their original world, and let out a small sigh. Compared to the times when Charlotta and Nanaka, who had conceived before her, gave birth, Renka’s condition was stable. Thanks to the blessing of being an apostle of Goddess Arian, who was favored by spirits, her morning sickness was mild, her delivery was confirmed to be exceptionally smooth, and her recovery was progressing well. Therefore, there was no need to worry about Renka’s physical health.
However, emotional support was a different matter. It was a husband’s duty to alleviate the mental burden of her first pregnancy and her anxieties.
Even so, the situation wasn’t such that Shinji’s presence was absolutely essential. Her childhood friend, Milis, who was also pregnant, was under the same roof, and the Wolf family provided ample support. But that was that, and this was this.
He aimed to balance the life of a succubus’ son with that of a human, and he was unwilling to compromise. Shinji believed that he should be there for his wife when needed, just like any ordinary man.
(Fortunately, progress is better than I expected. If nothing unexpected happens, I should be able to wrap things up soon.)
He had already anticipated numerous scenarios following the royal capital’s assault and prepared himself to respond accordingly. The ability to formulate multiple plans was largely due to Freri bringing the four succubus leaders under her command.
Her absence by Shinji’s side, despite her significant contributions, was for the sake of a further strategic move.
Freri was currently with the four succubus leaders, visiting Goddess Padra. Their objective was to retrieve the followers of the former Goddess Satin, who had been scattered across various worlds now managed by different goddesses under the Great God’s decree.
Since each world was under the jurisdiction of a separate goddess, crossing between them without permission was impossible, necessitating Goddess Padra’s cooperation.
From Padra’s perspective, this was an opportunity to gain favor with other goddesses, so she was actively cooperating with them. Many other goddesses, often troubled by the scattered succubi within their domains, readily agreed to assist if it meant resolving the issue with a single favor.
The four succubus leaders were also highly cooperative, eager to reunite with their dispersed brethren. And Freri, with her growing demonic legion, was, needless to say, fully motivated.
Thus, Shinji’s comprehensive strategy was continuously yielding results. It was likely to become a significant achievement that would even bring a smile to Goddess Arian, who oversaw the goddesses’ actions.
Freri’s journey across worlds would inevitably take considerable time. In that sense, the four-day waiting period was a welcome respite for Shinji as well.
(They say fortune favors the patient. It’s good to dedicate time to self-improvement occasionally. It’s quite lively outside, too.)
Outside the Canopy, Luluane and the others were instructing the Resistance members. Flair seemed to be participating as well, as Shinji could hear her sharp commands and the men’s shouts.
”You can’t collapse from just that-noja! Move it! Those who lose will run laps around the perimeter! The next operation will be a test of endurance! Push yourselves to move even when exhausted-noja!” Flair’s voice boomed.
It appeared the fighters, having been constantly engaged in operations, had little time for self-training recently. They were using this waiting period to reflect on themselves before the assault on the royal capital.
(It’s good that their morale is high. In truth, they are the main force that will conquer the royal capital. I need them to perform well.)
Looking ahead, Shinji had decided to entrust the handling of the royal capital to the Resistance Liberators. No matter how intricate his strategies, he intended to remain in an auxiliary role, ensuring he could leave this world without any lingering complications.
This principle extended to his personal relationships. With Tiana and Tiona in clearly defined roles, he saw no need to pursue Luluane romantically.
His thoughts turned to his cat-eared disciple, Tiona. From her reaction the previous night, Shinji had sensed a hint of Tiona’s hidden potential and desires, which brought a smile to his face.
”Well then, let’s test it out a little,” he murmured.
He sent a telepathic message to Tiona, who was likely training with Luluane and the others.
* * *
Two hours later, Tiana finished her session training the Resistance Liberators. She decided to visit Tiona’s Canopy, as Tiona had excused herself earlier, stating a desire to practice magic. However, Tiona was not there. A sense of unease washed over Tiana as she wondered where Tiona could have gone, prompting her to head towards Shinji’s nearby Canopy.
(No way, in broad daylight…!?)
From the outside, the Canopy showed no outward signs of anything unusual. But as she stood before the entrance, she sensed a magic barrier containing sound, confirming her unsettling premonition.
”Apostle, excuse me!” Tiana called out.
Without waiting for a reply, Tiana burst in. She found Shinji and Tiona facing each other. Their proximity was perfectly appropriate, and their clothing was undisturbed. A small mole-like Summoned Beast, adept at earth magic, sat contentedly on Tiona’s lap.
”Tiana-san? Is something the matter?” Shinji inquired.
”…Ah, uh… I was just wondering what you were doing…” Tiana stammered, looking awkward.
Met with their innocent gazes, Tiana spoke hesitantly.
”The Apostle mentioned his interest in summoning magic and Summoned Beasts, so we were discussing that,” Tiona explained.
”I thought that if one could communicate with a Summoned Beast, one could teach and learn magic, so Tiona-san was assisting me,” Shinji added.
”I-I seeee, ahaha,” Tiana replied with a dry laugh, realizing she had made a rather unfortunate misjudgment. Tiona, picking up on Tiana’s overly obvious reaction, chimed in.
”…Tiana-san, did you perhaps misunderstand something… lewd?”
”No! I just wanted to check if you were really practicing!” Tiana protested.
”Is that true, nya?” Tiona teased.
”It’s true! I never imagined the Apostle would be summoning me for *that* in broad daylight!” Tiana blurted out, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Shinji watched the two, Tiona playfully teasing with a sly smile and Tiana flustered and red-faced, finding their uninhibited bickering in front of him rather endearing. He inwardly mused that Tiona was quite the actress.
It was true that nothing illicit had occurred. However, from the moment she was summoned and entered the Canopy, Tiona had exuded a subtle expectation. Had Shinji sought her for pleasure instead of a discussion about magic, she would have readily complied, harboring such a risqué hope.
(Tonight, it will be Tiona. Unveiling her hidden desires is also part of the life of a succubus’ son.)
While mediating their playful argument, Shinji made his decision.

Freri has set out on a journey to assemble an army!
Shinji’s achievement meter is spinning busily.
By the way, Nanaka has given birth. She’s a side heroine not directly involved in the main story, so there hasn’t been an opportunity to mention it, but time has passed, and she would have given birth by now… Yes.
